K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about financial support.

Ok ,thankyou..

Oh,just another question.I have never committed an offence either in New Zealand or here in the UK.Do I still have to provide police reports from the New Zealand and British police?.

yes you have to privide police certificates from places you resided , am not to sure if they need it for the I 129 , ( as in my case I was born in germany permanent resident of canada , only had the german police certificate avalable at the time when we filled the I 129 , they didnt ask for the canadian in a RFE,so i didnt need it till i got the package 3 ) but try to get all the documents together before NVC transfers the I 129f to your countrys us consolate who will then send you package3 ,

Ok thankyou.

Just one more question. Is there a website where I can find K1 visa processing times for Vermont service centre?.

your welcome , and yes there is , if you click on immigration timeline here , then click on k1 it will give you an estimate on processing service , good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about financial support.

Hi everyone,

I am a New Zealander living and working in the UK.I carry a New Zealand and a British passport.

My fiance is American and we are planning to start the K1 visa paperwork when she starts her new job soon.

I notice that the fiance must provide evidence of financial support to accompany the non immigrant form which i will fill out?.

So do i have to provide a bank statment for this?.And how much money must i have?..Is there a minimum requirement?.

Or have I misunderstood what this means?..sorry , Im new to all this.

Thankyou..

I cant tell from your timeline if your the petitioner or benefitionary , if she moves to be with you , or you move to be with her ,
anyhow incase you intend to move that would make you the benefitionary , so she would have to fill out the I 134 ,since she is the petitioner and your sponser (she has to be 125% over the poverty guideline , incase the income isnt enough , you will need a co sponser ,)
you need the original i 134 , the dublicated full package of filling the I 129 ( so make sure you make dublicates before sending it they might not ask for it at the interview , but better save then sorry incase they do want to see it) and other forms at the interview , you can always look at the guide for K1 visa here , its great advise , also they give great advice on the example forms how to fill them out if you get stuck , hope I helpd a lil , Lona

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionLast Name Change - ROC process
[quote name='second stage' date='Dec 28 2009, 06:51 PM' post='3591081']
Am sorry but I don't understand you.

Am talking about ROC and this has nothing to do with Citizenship or even changing the passport.

its not hard to understand ,
if you look at the big picture for the future V333K said IF you go for USC in the future it will be a hassel ,
therefor it would be easier to just change passport instead of changing GC and all other documents since everything is on married name
it would be easier to keep as is and just go to change passport from maiden name to married
( there is a advantage you wouldnt have to carry the marriage cert anymore when you travel and the passport would match all other documents )

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionLost Green Card

I lost my wallet last December together with all of my credit/debit cards, driving license, military id, state id and some membership cards. I decided not to replace it since I'm about to lift my conditional status this month. I see that I have to send a copy of my actual greencard back to back but how can I do that when I already lost it. Would that be a problem when i file I-751? I'm planning to send my affidavit of loss which i got the next day after I lost it and a copy of my U.S visa printed on my passport with the stamp i got from my POE. Do you guys think this would work? I'm really worried and started to think I'll be deported soon. Any advice will be very appreciated.

I hope you reported your lost to the police
that would be the first important step to take

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRenewing my driver's license

Hi all. My green card and driver's license both expire on the same day (On Jan. 28th). Do you know if I can renew my driver's license with the receipt they sent me extending my green card for a year??? thanks for any replies.

I dont see a reason why not as the NOA 1 is a 1 year extention for your GC
Lona.C.FemaleCanada2010-01-25 13:25:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHmm... they received it, they cashed the check...
if you look at my timeline my NOA took about 10 days from when I mailed the application
so you should have yours soon

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionOur marriage has been a secret!
I agrea with everyone here your effidence looks fine :)
also agrea with udella yes you must be young but you must have been old enough to get married without parental consent ,
so that makes you an adult I feel sorry that you feel the need to hide your happyness from your family ,
since you have been already married for 2 years and your family still cant see that you are truely happy
they might never see or accept your decitions in life ,
and since you are ( yes a young ) adult
the family should be there for emotional suport
but they should not be able to tell you how you should be living your life in the future ,
no one has the right to guide a persons happyness other then the person him self ,

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionBiometrics, what docs to take

Hold on--- green card ? This is for the I 485 Adjustment of Status interview, not citizenship... sorry for the confusion. Are the docs needed for the AOS biometrics any different ?

Thanks!

well if its for AOS then you should post in AOS forum ,
this is ROC forum wich is the process to remove condition once AOS grants you a 2 year GC ,
ROC ( removing of condition )is 90 days before your GC exipres ,
about a year or if you deside more before aplying for citizenship ,

but to your question bring passport with your K visa in it and the apt letter

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionConditional resident status is extended for one year?

I guess it depands where you live sometimes Vt takes a bit longer ,
but also remember you probly going to get a biometric apt notice
(biometrics is set usualy about a month after you filled )
Lona.C.FemaleCanada2010-01-24 14:01:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionJust noticed... Passport expiring less than one year
I would waite till you get your GC , since you will need the GC to aply for a new passport
your current passport is still good for almost a year if you dont hear nothing in 6 month then i would aply for a new one and carry the old one too ,
usualy they let you keep the old one but you can call the german embassy to confirm
http://www.germany.i...01/__Daten.html
they let me keep my old one when I went to boston to aply for a new one with my married name last year

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCo-sponsor wants to pull out before Removal of Conditions

Could be longer than 10 years...

If the beneficiary of the affidavit never has 40 quarters of work credited to them (which takes 10 years of work (only) to do BTW), by not working, or working part time, you see where I am going with this...

yup i see in pure english the cosponsor is eh hmm yeah screwd oops I meen stuck :innocent:

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCo-sponsor wants to pull out before Removal of Conditions

Hi there. Long time no post.

So I'm going through a rocky patch in my marriage, and don't know if it'll work out between my wife and me. However, it seems I'll be biting the bullet this spring and we'll be putting the i-571 through to get her the ten-year green card. My co-sponsor for the initial green card she has is aware of my difficulties and has a frayed relationship with my wife. He wants to, in his own words, "unhook himself from a massive liability", and pull out as a co-sponsor. Can he do that?

Feel free to offer words of support, but I'm obviously writing primarily to get an answer to my question, or at least a referral.

Thanks in advance,

C

I dont think he can pull himself out ,
he made a commitment with the gov not with you or your wife ,
only way he would be released would be
if your wife became a USC or returnd to her country or waite 10 years till his obligation to the gov is fullfiled
or the LPR dies ,
and since he is the cosponsor and your the primery sponsor if it should come down to it and your wife would become a public charge,
the gov would first go after you before he would go after the cosponsor

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAre they struggling?

Hi Joe few days ago there was a topic on subject passport expire and stamp
I belive it was kathrine 41 who posted a very interesting reply to the subject
it said something that you can get an info pass and they will give you a stamp on a I 94
wich you will have to carry in your passport , you can use the I 94 as prove of extantion for GC ,
maybe you can ask kathrine about it
or look up the post I cant remember the title but I belive the OP was OBAN

found the post , http://www.visajourn...howtopic=238955

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionis this normal

The online system could report different dates but you are still in "initial review" which is as you know means waiting. What happens is when someone accesses your file or checks your file, it updates the access date online which appears weird. Most important is NOA date and I saw you are Nov 27, so I would expect it to update maybe one more time, maybe. This should be for your biometrics but it is not guaranteed. You status will not change until next month or maybe in 3 weeks when they start processing November filers. Then it will show a different state and it will update when approved.

first congrats on your aproval
I dont think it will update with my biometric since i had that done Dec 21rst and didnt see any touch or anything ,
but like you said its no big deal I noticed many people here didnt get touched till they got aproved
so i bet your guess is right I will see something maybe in a month or so ,
just never noticed the date differance till now and thought wow thats weird ,
but as it also happend to wiz so am not consernd about it ,
will wait and see what they do next ( maybe send me a bday cake with the aproval lol )

I might be wrong but what I read from his timeline EAD was aproved on the 02/13/08
and he had the interview aproval for AOS on the 03/11/08
check the expiration date on your GC if your inside the 90 days then your good to go
also V see he got the front and back of GC listed on the coverpage
maybe he had copied the card before he missplaced it ,but yes he should have reported it ,

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionaffidavit of support question

The personal affidavits (not to be confused with the affidavit of support document (I-134 or I-864)) must include the person's full name and address; date and place of birth; relationship to the subject(s) of the affidavit. (see I-751 instructions page 2) No SSN needed.

I agrea I bet Vanessa got the personel affidavit and the affidavit of suport confuessed
as for the personel affidavit I cant find no where to the fact that you need to be USC and it requires a birth cert and SS#
when i send mine ( lol as bob would say total overkill ) i send 2 affidavits from my brothers in germany , with pics when we saw them on our trip ,
2 from my kids in canada also with pics and a copy of theyr train tickets when they stayed with us ,
yup none are usc with SSN

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionSome questions regarding "Card Production Ordered"

Mine took 6 days to arrive after I received the notice of its production. No, the Service Center doesn't produce the cards - I believed they are issued from a central location but I am not sure. Regardless, it is not the Service Center who produces the cards. No, you don't have to do anything in between removing conditions and filing for naturalization except stay married and living together if you are using the 3 year option, and not leaving the US for more than 6 months to ensure you meet the continued residency requirement.

And Congratulations!

kathryn you forgot one thing he has to do besides staying married ,
he has to study ;) :P
