K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Questions about Immigrating as a Canadian	My fiancee (the american in this case) and I are about to start the immigration process in June or July and I just have a few basic questions. 1.) My main question is based around our age difference I am 23 and he is 34 will this make it harder to be approved or prove that we have a legitimate relationship? Non Issue. 2.) I have been on 5 trips to see him in the last two years with all of the trips lasting over a month. I only have the travel documents from my first and last trip. Will this be enough? Should I get written statements from his family that I was there for Christmas or other visits? Non Issue. 3.) If I do get approved and move on to the interview stage what sort of questions should I be prepared to answer? Regular relationship questions and about where you will live in the USA etc. 4.) He has a daughter that he doesn't see. He doesn't like to talk about it so I don't even know her name. Do I need to start prying this information out of him? It could come up in the interview, they ask questions about your future spouses family. Only during the week, they close for holidays as well. It has been known though that a few people sometimes get approvals over weekends/long vacations because some of the people will bring cases home to work on. Not often but it does happen sometimes. I watched some videos linked on another post on the visa process and they mentioned proof of being single certs, possibly needed for both parties. I had not seen anything required from the petioners. I'd use a paperclip instead of a staple Nope because you want the check to stay on the top and not fall out or fall off and them lose it / not see it and then reject it saying you did not pay it. My e-tickets are all 2 page long too... Was your package quite thick when you mailed it? I've a feeling mine is going to be a novel. Any ideas on the boarding card photocopies? Should i down size them to actual size or do you think my huge A4 ones will do?! Just don't want to hand them a big pile of paper... or do they prefer it in sort of a book format? Are staples permitted for multi-page items like my divorce decree? Had staples in my guys divorce decree and the passport photo copy pages to keep them together. Stapled the Passport photos to the biographic pages ( photo was inside a plastic bag. ) No dividers, no binders, no tabs, no stickys just a HUGE paper clip and a cover letter listing the contents in order. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Transferring Case to another Embassy	Transferring the case can add waiting time because of the transfer, it can take 1-2 months to transfer it and get the case set up at the new embassy. Thats if the case is already at the other US embassy and you need to transfer between embassys. You do a cover page listing order of the contents and you use a giant paper clip to hold it all together thats it. Nothing fancy. I see your point though. I could scream lazy on my husbands part - I did ALL the forms but, he works for the military pushing paper all day already. But the I-129F is filed by the US citizen petitioner--question 10 asks about the citizenship status of the petitioner, not the beneficiary. I would assume the OP is talking about the USC considering the I-129F is completed by the USC. Question number 10 does not even refer to the beneficiary. This is 'Part A'(information on the USC). A lot of people on VJ are the beneficiary filling out all the forms and asking questions for help on filling them out. In this case it sounded like the US citizen was asking if the beneficiary filled it out wrong. The OP left NO detailed information as to what the situation was if the person was the beneficiary or other wise. My fiance put his birth place and date his birth certificate was issued in question 10 on the I129f and he checked birth in the US since he was. Will this create problems or RFE? Do you guys know what happens at POE if we are asked for the X-rays and can't produce them? There must be a reason we were told to bring carry them by hand at the POE, right? How do you request expedited, I am doing the paperwork for my son Joe and his future wifw Ruby. The petitioner Joe must request it, a family member cannot. Joe needs to contact USCIC via phone and request an expedite due to medical reasons of his future wife. This causes some to slow down in processing drastically for some months while they catch up on other petitions that they have to clear. You can try to request an expedite but its not likely. Call USCIS and request the expedite then provide them with the doctors notes and proof that this is urgent and she needs to have the case expedited. There is also quite a few horror storys on here about people who have used lawyers and ended up with a completely messed up petition. I suggest you follow what Anh map suggestes though.
