If the doctor finds something questionable on the Xray or during the exam they have the power to withhold your results until you see a specialist / get confirmation that you are not seriously ill. I am still waiting for NOA2, but was wondering if I could already fill out the form for the interview DS 230, DS 156, ETC etc.., These form must to be printed after you fill out, so for me to avoide any mistake I wanted to do it in advaced. I-864 is not usually used by the US embassy for K-1 visa, very few embassys will take these. They are supposed to be for adjustment of status in the USA after marriage. No it is proper procedure, military persons must follow chain of command as well as security procedures and get approval before being allowed to marry. If the person is in the US Navy there are certain security requirements that must be done before being approved to marry. Considering that is not what you said in your original post, you can see why we were confused Be careful, if the Thai government 'thinks' you are married then they can deny your visa. I've seen couples denied a visa for referring to each other as 'husband' and 'wife' in communication although no ceremony took place. Coming to the US with a tourist visa with the intentions of getting married and adjusting status is illegal and could result in a lifetime ban. I stopped when I read this: Feb 2013 I fly back to Thailand to get married for her family K-1 visas are for UNMARRIED PEOPLE. If you marry in Thailand, you are married in the US and her K-1 becomes void, you'll have to start ALL over again with a spousal visa. Sorry, your plan needs reworking. Generally, after the NOA2, the time between that and the interview depends on you and the consulate. It depends on how quickly NVC gets your documents and how busy the consulate is. We were lucky, we spent 25 days in NVC then got an interview 2 months later.
