The interview will be held in Montreal. Montreal is VERY strict about domicile. Be familiar with the expectations to prevent long separations

It has been such as issue that there is a pinned topic in the Canada forum

Call them and see, but honestly the case shouldn't have left NVC without the correction being fixed. They may say it was your responsibility

Call USCIS

You should go down to the SSA office to get the SSN. Even if you checked YES on the Ds-230, it is unreliable

The green card will be mailed to you.

What name is in her passport? If it is her maiden name then the green card will be in her maiden name. You'll file an I90 to change it

ALL spousal visa interviews are in Montreal, no exceptions. So yes, paying for a trip there is a good idea, otherwise it's called 'stealing'

USCIS still processes the I129F for the K-3 so them advising it isn't out of the ordinary - so you being active military wouldn't play into that. NVC will close the I-129F. Don't bother with it

Also, so you are aware, the interview for the spousal visa will be in Montreal. Montreal is the ONLY consulate that does spousal visas in Canada

The interview for the immigrant visa will take place in the country where the beneficiary is a legal resident or citizen. You cannot have him interview in the US. It is unlikly, but not unheard of, that the USC will be interviewed

For your marriage part, I would explain what happened as proxy marriages are not recognized in the US until the couple has met in person. Make this proces easy for yourself and explain the proxy marriage in TX and supply proof of having met after the proxy marriage

Type what you can, write in what won't fit on the form

Age is a BIG thing when talking about legally able to marry.

Occupation, not a big deal, put TBA if you like

No, it doesn't mean you are denied. If anything they may call you in to sign that before you can get your passport. Did they keep your passport? They don't keep passports unless they want to put something in it...like a visa

If she is legally in Australia, I'd put her Australia address. How much longer is she there for? Will she interview there? Answer all questions honestly, if she is working in Aus. then list there. Nothing worng with that

You have no choice. All Cr-1/Ir-1 visa go through Montreal. There is no option for you to go through Vancouver

Yes, the case number starting with MTL indicates you'll be going through Montreal. Good news though, Montreal has sped up a bit, but still plan on 2-4 months after your case complete until interview.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFile I-130 while in the US VWP

Appy as soon as you can. Do not wait. She should have told you to file for extension to stay here. Did you do I 129 for financee visa? if so, and married in 90 days you can stay. Anyway, now you married in US and should apply to remain here while they process your I 130

Just to clarify, application is a few months off. The US citizen petitions for the beneficiary. The beneficiary then applies for the visa. They are at the petition stage

And further, he cannot 'remain here until they process the visa'. He must return to the UK as it is clear in his original post that he did not arrive on a K-1 visa

Since K1 is a single entry visa, if you would like to leave the USA before receiving your greencard, you will have to apply for AP.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhere are all you Canadians?
His previous tax info should at least give him some idea of where he worked & lived for the last 5 years.

To help you be prepared for the next step...
In his packet 3 he will have a DS-230 part 1 that he has to send back.

Question 20 it asks for "all places you have lived for at least 6 months since reaching the age of 18" It just wants the city/town, province, country, and mth-year to mth-year, it doesn't ask for specific street addresses.

Question 22 wants "all employment for the last 10 years" It just wants the Employer, Location (I put city & province), Job title and mth-year to mth-year. I used my old tax info for this as I too had numerous employers in the late 90's.

He should be able to get some sort of tax transcript by contacting the CCRA as previously mentioned.

The police certificate issued by the RCMP (Commissionaires in Toronto) is automatically Canada wide.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical
You will have to bring your packet 3 letter to the medical as well. If you click on Embassy Info, C for Canada you will find a list of the Panel Physicians that can do your medical, some even have weblinks and you can find out how long the results take, if not you can always call them. Another option would be for you to do it in Montreal a few days before your interview, I think I've read of 2 people on here that have done that and you can combine a mini vacation as well :)

If not, the medical offices in Toronto are easy to get to if you take the bus down.

From what I have read on here, DR interviews take at least 1 year.

I know a DR waiting list link was posted recently but I can't find it. Take a look at the recent threads pertaining to the DR and maybe you can locate it.
