K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI hope this will help everyone
But Nebraska's times have thus far been faster than California's. And wasn't someone else told by their lawyer that this was part of a restructuring, and the centers "specializing" in certain visas. I don't think we will ever know the real reason, frankly. But I will cling to the "speed things up by a month" part anyhow! :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHas your 129-F been transferred from Nebraska to California?
but all these files are at the California Service Center now...

I guess you can keep everything as "nebraska" and compare how long it takes to other Nebraska people - but bear in mind not everyone has been transferred from Nebraska - there are a few on this forum who have not been and I'd hazard a guess that others out there haven't been. Also, unless they remove Nebraska's address from the new forms, people will continue to mail things into that center in the future and perhaps not be transferred either. In my mind, if you are now at California, you should input California and go by their timelines.

I'd say leave Nebraska on the side in the profile, so people can see when you get approved in CSC, you were a NSC transfer, but otherwise...

But if y'all want me to keep the timeline as Nebraska, I will. I am no longer putting a whole lot of faith in thsoe timelines anyhow!

I updated my timeline to California Center, but added a comment that I was transferred from Nebraska. I left "Nebraska" in my profile (at left) though.

any chance you can take a chunk of time off work and go to San Diego and hang out? From what you say it seems he is the one with the busier work schedule... maybe it would be easier to spend more time together if you went there?

a possibly dumb question but I haven't seen the letter myself.... we keep our old case # right? The one that starts with LIN? Or do we get a new one now from California?

Personally, I wouldn't worry about USCIS. As for pics and names, only do that if you are comfortable. Perhaps they would be willing to print with only your first names if you were concerned about privacy.

what exactly will this story be about that it will "doom" you with USCIS?

and as Laura said, if his full name is in the story, a picture doesn't make a difference.

I am just so annoyed right now by the processing times, I can't sleep. Maybe I need to meditate. Or have a glass of scotch!

I hope I can feel less petty by tomorrow morning and just be happy the RFE's are coming. I mean, that is good news. Afterall, it is just a little time... not the end of the world. And I AM going to go visit my sweetie on Friday for 11 whole days, so I should just quit complaining!

ok. I feel more thankful now. I can go to bed. g'night!

Word of advice Giggles - I would not quit the job yet... you never know what will come down the pipe in this process, or how things will be delayed. If your employers are flexible, give them a heads up with an estimated time of departure. If they are not flexible, then wait until you know for sure!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGood lord I know I can't be the only one...
I have never understood why there is such a discrepency in processing times from one service center to another. And to transfer files from Taxas and Nebraska to the slowest center doesn't make sense either.

It can be a stressful process, no doubt. I know we are all supposed to keep our eye on the finish line, but sometimes it is hard to do! Let's hope all the touching of files that California has been doing lately means they are getting ready to send some RFE's out. I think we will all feel less aggitated when we see a few RFE's heading out of CSC too. Hang in there!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBorder Troubles
Maybe they are looking into WHY you had a border block put on you? I can't imagine why visiting once a month would have been a problem - unless the border agent was feeling particularly snitty! I've been visiting regularly for almost 4 years. I just can't see why two or three visits in a row by you would pose such a problem.

I hope it speeds up for you soon... good luck!

Though I am curious if this is a sort of "new" NOA1... which would, from the looks of it, unfortunately mean we're all back at the bottom of the pile.

I updated my timeline to show CSC, and my expected approval date changed to July 29th. Criminy, if I find an extra 17 days hard to bear, I don't have a hope of serenity in this whole centre switcharoo/IMBRA fiasco.

well, from things people are posting, it is clear thsi is not a new technique and has happened before. I guess we just have to wait. Wait for the new form, and wait and see how fast CSC can process them.

wait wait wait wait. I hope this is the kind of anxiety that leads to weight loss, and not the binge eating kind.

It appears it is just partof the reorganization, though it is odd that Chuckles is left out!

If it gives anyone hope, I work for the Gov in Canada and when we get a backlog of applications that are sent to one regional office to clear, we put a "team" on it that only focuses on getting the backlog cleared. hey, maybe that will happen in this case for us.

And like someone already mentioned, it is likely that California is sending all of its petitions of something else to Nebraska, so the load should be balanced.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresShould we include wedding plans as part of evidence?
I put our wedding rings receipt in our I129F package.
When I went for my interview I took my wedding dress receipt and a copy of our wedding invitation. I was never asked for it though.

The only question pertaining to my wedding that I was asked was IF we had set a wedding date and what was it.

Hope this helps!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSince the I-134 is so hot tonight
Hi there, I am was in the same boat as you. Boston, Canada.
I went through Montreal.
They wanted the last years tax returns, the bank letter, and the employment letter.

We gave copies of my USC fiances tax return and that was enough. His Schedule C and 1040 I think they are called.
The bank letter was easy enough to get and his bank notarized his I134 so it was full circle. This will also help you, the Canadian, when you want to open a bank account and get a credit card. The bank will already be aware of the situation and perhaps this will help you in building a rapport with your bank. Having a bank on your side from the get go is advantageous.

That's my 2 cents. Good luck with it, I know you will be fine!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion concerning NOA2
The NOA2 is needed in ther process later on.
I had to show it at my interview, and you need it for your AOS.

You don't need the email, just the one you got in the mail. It says I797 Notice of Action on it.

That you'll need. I think it's pretty easy to get a replacement if you never got your either. I think you can call up Vermont and tell them.
Someone else will post further to that I am sure.

Hope this helps!

Good Luck and congrats!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuick question on AP
I posted this in the correct forum-but to no avail and I know folks peruse this one as well so maybe someone here will know this. I wanted to mail out today but I'll have to wait till Monday for this one.
Hey all, quick question here.

I am filling out my AP to go back to Canada to visit family whenever over the next 2 years, but we may take a vacation to Mexico next year.
Do I need to add Mexico somewhere in my application?? Or, is AP just for anywhere??
Does it specify the country on the AP??
I have filled it out only to reflect Canada, but Mexico is just a maybe and I want to cover my bases.
Should I be putting Mexico anywhere on the application?? Or can I just use my AP when I get it and go to Mexico?

Thanks for the help!
