K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEvidences for K-1

I am in agreement somewhat with ziggy! For those of you who are lazy or just want to send minimum information like 2 pictures or 2 e-mails or 2 airline tickets, etc go for it then do not be crying when you get an RFE, denial, or any other problems with your petition.

I do not understand after going through all this crazy process, that the agencies involve do what ever they want and being away from your significant other why would you take that chance?

My K-1 fiancée visa petition was close to 100 pages, very well organized. Over 30 pictures, complete photo copy of passport (mine is like the yellow pages because I travel international for work), 12 airline tickets, receipts, boarding pass stubs (went 12 times to Colombia in 3 years, 15 e-mails from me to my fiancée, 15 e-mail from my fiancée to me, all types of credit card statements and receipts, home and cellular bill, and a million more things.

Could you people be so lazy as to provide all you can as soon as possible without having to be told to do so? I bunch of people get RFE’s for bad copies how hard and how much can it cost you to get a very good copy of birth certificate or divorce certificate?

I do not understand this maybe it is because I am a C.P.A.? I am ####### and detail, in my line of work you never leave any detail no matter how small it is and there can never be too much information, documentation or paperwork.

Peter Miami

And ours consisted of 2 photos, 2 sets of boarding passes, 1 hotel bill and the required forms & documents, no more than 20 pages all together.

Some get through with a minimal amount of evidence and some are required to submit more.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHELP!!! Got my NOA1 I believe and need some answers...

And don't forget to order his long form birth certificate now, while you are at it! :)

And Passport!

The good thing is if he takes a morning off work and can get to downtown Toronto he can get to all these places,
medical, police certificate, passport & long form birth certificate

I momentarily forgot how much this process sucks ;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHELP!!! Got my NOA1 I believe and need some answers...
Myheart, I just noticed your Dan is in Toronto (me too!)

If he goes to Seiden for his medical he can also go to the Commissionaires for his police certificate, they're pretty close to each other. I went for the medical, went over to get my Police Certificate and picked both up a few days later.

Here's a list of who can do the medical
http://www.visajourn...da&cty=Montreal
and here's a list of Commissionaire locations
http://www.fingerpri.../locations.html. The Downtown Toronto Commissionaires charges $35 cdn for the Police Ceritificate, plus tax

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHELP!!! Got my NOA1 I believe and need some answers...
- The Visa itself is $100 US, paid when he goes for his interview.
- The medical fee varies, I think I paid $180 cdn. It is not free or 'covered' by Provincial healthcare. The amount of US Passport photos for the medical varies as well, I only needed 1, others have needed 3. He will also need 2 for his interview.
- A WAC # means it was transfered to the CSC

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresquestions about packet 3 from consulate
1. Did you apply for a name clearance or did you have to do fingerprints? Name clearances take a few business days, fingerprints can take months. Knowing that will help in advising when you should send the checklist back

2. Put none. Never leave anything blank, it will have an answer even if it’s none or n/a

3. They ask for what they want, so city/province is fine

4. TBD will work, check the example forms in the guides as well

5. Mine were also from 2004 and I used them

6. Again, see the example forms.

7. Always be honest, you can offer an explanation at the interview if it comes up

8. Is it a yes/no only question or does it ask for name details?

9. The USC’s updated letter of intent (this will be asked for in your packet 4) will be sufficient as proof of engagement

10. Can’t help you there, sorry.
Canuck CarrieFemaleCanada2006-03-20 10:46:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLittle question on check list.....
They are most likely requesting a long form birth certificate or whatever the similar name is in your country, they contain that information.

Congratulations on your NOA2!

Her K1 Visa isn't complete yet as she will still need to be interviewed. You might want to post in this section

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestotally confused about nvc sending case to embassy
Oops, those would be 2 seperate places!

Try entering expedite NIV section or expedite IV section in the reference field on dhl.com, tracking (from the drop down at the top)

There was one to Dublin on the 10th & the 14th, search with expedite IV section

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestotally confused about nvc sending case to embassy

Ok I called Dublin and they have not yet received the packet-ok no problem. I called the NVC to make sure it was sent. He told me that it does not go DHL but through the regular mail and can take 4-6 weeks.............is that correct? I swore they were shipped dhl.

Are some sent dhl and others reg mail?? Is it Friday yet?? I am burnt out already

Thanks guys ;)

Just because they say they haven't got it yet doesn't mean it's not there, some places take a bit to enter it into their systems.

Try to be patient (I'm sure you're tired of hearing that ;) )

I bet this is yours, from the DHL website

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresquick question

automated system
do u suggest to talk to a live operator even though the system says that the case is not on file there?

K1's are not available through the automated system, you will have to speak to someone, they will be able to tell you where your file is :)

It might be at either place right now.
You can call the NVC 603-334-0700, you will have to speak to an operator, I think you push 1 then 2 (K1 cannot check via the automated system) or call Montreal http://www.visajourn...da&cty=Montreal

and, Congratulations!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInertviews from Montreal

Note to self: Buy Montreal consulate a day planner so they can better keep track of interview dates and times they have available for scheduling interviews.

Wait until you get there, you will amazed at the amount of people there for some reason or other. It's a really busy place.

My timeline might give you a rough idea of the wait time. Packet 4 usually takes at least 4 weeks to receive, with an interview 4 weeks after that (approximately)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan Perm resident file K1 for foreign fiance

No, a K1 and K3 are only available to US Citizens to file not a permanent resident. She absolutely must become a citizen before she can file for her fiance. Pax is mistaken. You can check USCIS to see the same.

How is she mistaken? The OP asked "I would like to find out if she must become a USC prior to filing for the K1", Pax answered yes.

If they want something, they will ask for it. Do not send anything to them, it will most likely never catch up to your file.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Process for Australia Fiancee
I would assume Australia would be like anywhere else, meaning the process and amount of money required would be the same. Check the Guides and FAQs up above in the tabs, read the USCIS forms you need to fill out and check out the Regional Area of VJ (found further down on the main page) and I'm pretty sure all your immediate questions will be answered.

Welcome to Visa Journey :)

The letter is the only thing you will receive until packet 3 is issued. You can call the NVC to get your new case # or see if the file has left for the Embassy/Consulate, you must speak to an operator, you cannot use the automated system.
