As an update, I received my card today: 

The USPS reported that your new card was delivered on May 20, 2014, directly to the address we had on file.

 

So within a week from approval, pretty fast I would say. Interestingly it took exactly five months for ROC. I had filed the petition on 12/20/2013 and got the card on 05/20/2014. The only question now is whether to carry the card with me all the time as the accompanying letter says or carry just a copy. Would like to hear other members views on this. 

 

Thanks for all you support during this stressful phase and wishing all the best to folks still awaiting approval.

I kept my 2 year green card on my person 90% of the time, but I know that many others kept a copy of it and placed the actual card in a safe place. I may do that with the 10 year card, or just hold on for another year. Once I have citizenship it will not matter so much :D.

Gah, I had a feeling that this might happen: I received a request to have my fingerprints re-taken (2/22/2014). I think only 6 or 7 of my fingerprints scanned correctly sad.png.

*Update* So I went back in today and the staff said that my prints were fine, but I may as well do them since I am here, because if I call the 1-800 number chances are they will demand that I re-take my fingerprints even though they went through O.K the first time. So confusing and time consuming!! 

 

How is everyone else fairing?

That's great, however if one has a choice of statements or a bank letter, the statements are the way to go and 4 per year is more than sufficcient. A letter would be a last ditch effort, say if the statements were eaten by the dog.

You can literally just show up and do it any day? Did they say anything about your January appointment? 

I think it depends on who you talk to, or on how busy it is. The location I went to was not very busy, so the agent let me go ahead. They did not say anything about it (my Jan. appointment) other than in the future, if I want to change my appointment I need to follow the instructions found at the bottom of the letter. 

 

Took about 15 min. total.

I am a little worried though, is my son's bio letter (he applied with me) supposed to come separately giving him a different date and time, or does he just come with me for mine? 

 

We received his NOA 1 a few days after me, so maybe there is no need for me to worry unsure.png.

It is hard to say. I think it is my fault in a way. Sometimes when she tells me she is bored, I tell her things like: Hey Mary, can you go to the mall and see if you can find a dress this color or that color. Tell me the price and I buy it for you. One day, I told her I want to see her with sexy underwear. When she came back. She quote me $325 for like 10 pairs of them. I just sent her the money. But before I send money I always tell her. Listen I am buying this for you but I am not rich. It will not be like this always. :(

I am just afraid that she will not be happy with me and I feel like offering her things to keep her happy.


She already is not happy with you, can you not see that? When she grinds you into the dirt and leaves you broken and destitute, then and only then will you realize how you have been played for a fool. I hope someone from the government gets a chance to read these posts and stops you from bringing such a disaster to the States.

At first it was hard, but I could deal with it a lot better. Now that we are actually in the process of seeing each other (K-1, instead of just dating with no firm plans for our future), it is even harder. Not to mention I am also having to go back to school because my College diploma isn't worth anything in the states. And I am a very independent person and don't like the idea of being completely financially dependent on someone else. I keep trying to hold on to the idea that this will be over soon. One year of waiting is so worth a lifetime with each other :)

Tero.. happy you have made that choice for yourself..some of us feel differently and don't take the if and when it happens..I want my fiancee here with me soon..and can't take the oh well attitude.It also is easy for everyone who has theirs to say don't worry it will come soon.. tell that to the couples still waiting from June and July and Aug. watching Sept and Oct and even Nov. and Dec get approved so quickly..They say they are worked on the order they come in..well I used to hope that I no longer believe that!!!


I definitely don't believe that #######! It will be 6 months from our NOA1 on Feb 6th (Sunday). How the hell are people getting theirs before all of us?! And the wait wouldn't/didn't piss me off so much when we thought the wait for NVC/an interview etc. wouldn't be more then a month or two at the most, but now we have found out that we will have another 4-6 months total before an we can have the interview. This is ridiculous! :/

Are we the only ones in Aug. still upset about being put on hold? Almost 1/2 of Sept being approved and I was even told they are working on Aug. 16th.!! right!!! And it is more like 6 months and not 5 months..hmmm. on my calendar 6 months from Sept is March! but maybe mine is wrong.. Just sick of constantly being passed by and sick of hearing oh it is still being processed when last time touched was 9/1! Why the lies just be honest and tell us what is going on..This is like a big nightmare waiting day after day! Some of the horror stories on here are scary.. how can they treat us like this..? Maybe they should of cashed our checks when they got done working on us not before..tired of being at their mercy! Am I alone?
