For the first one just put None if they haven't had a job outside of the States. For the second I would do the same if he hasn't had a job abroad.

As long as you can prove you are both free and single to marry, USCIS won't worry. Just make sure you submit both divorce decrees/certificates.

There's nothing wrong with big clips. It's not an art contest! Plus with being in the UK I was thought that hole punches would be slightly different due to the size of the paper being different to the US.

In regards on how to present it I just clipped it together using a large crocodile clip, that way they can punch holes in it themselves and arrange it how they want.

If you aquired citizenship through birth you don't need to put your certificate number. They only require a naturalisation number (if applicable). For your fiances address, yes its the same.

You could also just do a pen correction on the letter and cross out the 'her' and write in 'my'.

I was thinking about this, but then I thought it would just draw even more attention to the mistake.

I would be more inclined to correct it to, I think USCIS are more interested in the signature.

The $131 is for the visa, I believe you don't pay for the interview though it appears that way as you par for the visa before you have even had the interview! Plus there are fees for delivery and any travelling to and from the interview.

Then once in the US it's $1010 for AOS and EAD.

I am planning to leave the UK the middle of September and we hope to have the wedding on the 10th October 2009. I'm confident that is plenty of time. We are booking the chapel when I go to the US in April, luckily being a military chapel it will be free so if we have to change the date we won't lose any money.

I'm sure it's safe to organise things like dresses, flowers, suits, invite design and rings etc. I'm making a lot of things myself, that way I can do things at my own pace.

Both lists now work on NOA1 date. However the new Igor's list on VJ (the more accurate one as I believe as there are less duplicates) uses date from the past year, currently Feb 08 onwards. I believe when January is up we will lose all the Feb 08 filers on this list. The old Igor's list goes from the VSC processing time, 15 April 08 onwards. That's why you'll always be lower on the old Igor's list.

CFO is the seminar filipinos are required to attend before they can fly out of the country.....i already have attended that seminar before i left for my training to the usa i don't think it is really needed but they require everybody. For those going thru K1 or K3 they give another kind of seminar about getting married to foreigners and i heard they show videos on wives who are abused by husbands. For me i think it is a waste of time attending it but i guess it depends on the person. I am educated already and not stupid for those things to happen to me. Since there are a lot of people who go to different countries like overseas contract workers they try to educate them with the change of lifestyle etc. and you have to pay a fee to attend those seminars.

Hello all and welcome to the new additions! smile.gif

The more I read about people who got married in the US THEN filed the paperwork, the more I think that's what we should've done...especially with how slow VSC is moving now! From what I've read from other VJers, it is not fraud if it's an honest and true loving relationship. My finacé kept on telling me that it would be better that way (non-K1 way), but I kept saying "I'm not about to move to the States and become an 'illegal alien'!!!" I can be soooo hard headed!

oh well too late now! Any one else have or had that debate?

I never even considered it as I knew it would be fraud to intentionally enter the US on the VWP for the purpose of getting married, staying and adjusting status. I just didn't want to risk it. I'm happy knowing I've done it the legal and proper way even though it's costing us an arm and a leg!

Anyways, the timing is ok for us. Tom isn't even back in the US yet and we still have to buy a house and get it ready before I move out there.

Be gratefull you didn't AOS from visitor status. Even if there was a 1% chance of getting caught, you'd be barred for 10 years (if not life) for committing fraud. This is an unfair policy, I know. At least in Canada, your Fiance can stay with you as long as they like while their Fiance visa is processed. They just can't work here. I hope Obama changes these archaic rules...

I know about the ban, hence why I didn't think of and want to adjust under the VWP.

I don't think it's an unfair system, I understand that the US needs to know who they are letting into the country (especially in this day and age). Granted there will always be someone who enters with out intent, and gets married on a whim and stays and maybe for very good reasons. I don't mind waiting out the process. Not much I can do really when Tom doesn't even live in the US at the moment!

I'd love to be able to do that but we only get to Skype once a week as Tom works nights 6 days a weeks and with him being three hours ahead, I'm normally asleep when he's at work. The rest of the time we try and message using a Air Force online chat that he can use from work. Unfortunately we only discovered this chat about a month ago, 11 months too late!

Hey guys.

I am also an October Filer. I sent mine in on the 26th of September 2008, my check was cashed on October 1, NOA1 came on October 3 in the mail. My Case status notes October 1 as the last day anything was "touched." It is now mid January and I am a bit concerned something is wrong. My I-129F/K1 hasn't been touched since that initial NOA. I sent this to the Vermont Service Center.

I miss my sweetie pie soooo mucchh. We talk nightly of course, but we really want to be together soon. Because of my work situation I can't make another trip over to Russia to see her soon, bossman won't give me time off. How much longer can I expect to wait for my sweetie to come here?

Thanks,

-Richard

Sorry Richard but expect to wait a bit longer. Vermont are pretty slow at the moment. However you can keep up with the approvals as they happen here. They are still half way through August filers.

If you look at your timeline there is an estimate approval date, however it's best to take these dates with a pinch of salt as they are based upon people updating their VJ timelines.

BTW I just checked your timeline, is your NOA1 date correct? Should it say October instead of January. Your estimated approval date is based on the date you received your NOA1 so if this is not correct your estimated approval date will be well off.

Hi Everyone:

I have a question for those of you who are using a co-sponsor for the I-134. I have read through old posts and the example form here on VJ...but can't find a direct answer.

Regarding Q #11..the example form uses "N/A (K1 visa process for permanent residence)" as the suggested answer and left the preceding box unchecked.
However, in some posts, petitioners have checked "I do intend" and listed specific contributions.

In addition, should the sponsor's answer mirror the co-sponsor's answer?

Any advice is appreciated biggrin.gif

Thanks!

I think Tom is going to do as the example form does. That also seems to be the general feeling in the UK forum. He's only going to support me until we are married and I have a job and then we'll be supporting each other as such.

Because the I-134 is used for a multitude of other visas as well as the K1, I think specific contributions are only really needed when, for example, the person is applying for a work related visa such as an au pair.

It's just disappointing to see people announce in this thread that they were approved, only to find out its not from VSC where we are all focused. Most of us follow both threads - but would also still keep an prefer to keep the progress of each center separated. Otherwise it could be passed for gloating which I am sure was never your intention.

But really, Congrats again!

I got approved through the CSC on the 8/9th. They said they mailed my approval through the mail on the 8th and they said I was approved on the 9th. Nonetheless, its still a approval. I sent out the petition on October 17th.

In the end, our petition took 83 days for approval from the sent date and approx. 73 days from the NOA1. About 4/5 other people got approved also from the CSC for October. So hopefully more people start getting approved from October!

Good luck to all!!!

I got off the plane and took a train straight to work... pure misery, especially as I was sad at leaving her behind for what I was expecting to be around 5 months. Then, so my amazement, sitting in my e-mail inbox was an update from USCIS that our petition has been approved on 13th January! We only filed on October 31st, so from putting it in the post to getting the approval was 74 days. I noticed that quite a few October filers have been pretty quick, so I hope that everyone else is as lucky as we have been!

I'm going over in Feb for two weeks so I am trying to get some things ready for the interview. I figured it was save money on sending it in the mail and it will also be good to show immigration at the airport. So hopefully they won't bother me about this visit.

That's what I'm doing when I go over in April, going to get all the affidavit stuff then so Tom doesn't have to sent it to me. I've already started collecting proof of an ongoing relationship and have started filling out the form I need to get my police certificate.

Hello fellow October 08 filers for the K-1 petition!!

Just to let you know this is the Vermont thread. Here is the link to the California October filers http://www.visajourn...howtopic=156086

Currently there have only been a couple of expedites for October filers at Vermont. Not even half of VSC August filers have been approved yet.
