K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F- What country do I put?
I put a combination of England, UK and Great Britain on all my forms lol. I really should have stuck to one, but I do it without thinking!

I'll probably get an RFE because I can't decide what country I live in.

Try to get a tourist visa from Philippines to USA, it is almost impossible.

oh well.

The UK don't get a visa, they are under the VWP. If you get denied under the VWP then you have to go for a visitor's visa the next time.

Ultimately it's up to the offier at POE to whether they allow him entry or not. But by taking all the documents that prove his ties to the UK he has a better chance of entry. They may question as to why he has so many stamps in his passport.

If you do use the forms on VJ make sure they are the up to date forms. There will be either a 'valid from' or expiration date in the top corner.

Hello everyone. I know this is the right place for guides in going through fiancee visa and as well as good people are here to help and pray for my success as well. I am filing up the G325A now and I have some questions. Should I put all none to the question like name of spouse/husband I put None to that, what about the other boxes reagrading with that question, should I write none too???? Yes. And also with the date thing, what date should I put? is it near to when he is going to submit the 129F or just the day i finished filling up? Date in when you are going to sign it. To the letter of intent to marry, should I also put the date to when he going to submit the 129F? Date it whenever you sign it. Should it also be notarized? No, not needed.

Good luck!

Thank you and God bless

It is when your petition may be approved. So when you may get your NOA2. It's not exact and the dates may change. It's wise not to pin your hopes on it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical questions (UK)
QUOTE (adrianandlinsay @ Oct 19 2008, 03:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello there,

My first post! good.gif YAY
So I have just recieved my NOA2 and am very excited and apprihensive about the medical and interview that will be coming soon!
So a couple of Q's....

1. It asks for your vaccination records - where would I be able to obtain them, (GP)? Yes, or they can do a titre test to see what you are immune to.
2. I am a 26YO male in the UK on a K1 applicaion, so which ones would I need? http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/iv/vaccinechart.html This link will tell you what you need3. And I heard that I could just defer them till my AOS? The vaccines are actually required until AOS however most people get them done on the NHS for free.
4. Also, do I need to phone up for the medical myself or will the Embassy do this for me, (Ie. will they send me a letter with my docs saying "please attend your medical at XY and Z", or will they say, "or you can now phone the medical place and make your appointment"). You phone up and schedule one yourself but you have to wait for your case number from the embassy, some wait until they have their interview letter, some do it when they get Packet 3.
Im getting nervous just talking about it!!!!

Thanks guys,
Adrian

Hi. I just had a question and thought this was the place to be. I am an American Citizen and have been talking to this great man in Thailand. He was born in the Phillipines. If things progress, would filing a k-1 visa be the best way to go. Also, do they include SSI money when adding the income requirements? Thanks.

He should be interviewed in the country where he is currently residing.

Corrected.

Yes like others said, read through the guides and when the time in right you can decide what you want to do. However you must meet before you file. You have to have met within 2yrs before filing for a K-1.

[ I think you're good to go. Until sometime in January, your petition will be in process. So until it is approved, you do not have a pending visa application. The application for a visa can be submitted only after your petition is approved and the file sent to the consulate in New Zealand. More than likely, the Department of State has no knowledge of your petition, which is to the Department of Homeland Security.

If a petition has been submitted and assigned a case number, then CBP will be very aware of it when she arrives at a POE. The CBP falls under Homeland Security as does the USCIS.

Actually it was discussed elsewhere in this forum that the POE do not know you are applying for a visa.

As long as you bring plenty of ties to your home country, you should be ok. Be aware they may question you a bit more in entry.

Fiancially we are good we been together for almost 3 years and see each other as often as possible. Which he is planning to come and visit again before the interview which we dont know when that is. Thank you

If you have a look in the UK Interview Thread in the UK forum you'll see all the people that have been approved this year. Hopefully it'll put your mind at ease. Some have been in and out of AP but no one has been denied yet. It's also a good place to find out why some people were or are in AP.

The forms (like the G-325a)have to be original forms with your original signature. If you are sending her any evidence of meeting like passport stamps, boarding passes etc, these can be photocopies. You will need the originals for the interview.

99.9% of the time, you'd be right. This however, was the 0.1% of the time that the OP should NEVER have said what they said, truth or not - it was asking for denial. L&K, how I wish you'd found VJ before you went. If you had just said, "I'm on holiday visiting my other half" you would have been fine. Just fine. And it wouldn't have been a lie, either.

I tip my hat to you for your honesty, L&K, but this is a classic example of offering too much information at the POE - tough break, but learn from it.

I re-read what they said. Didn't realise he basically said he might be staying.

I think the phrase is being economical with the truth.

i have just returned from the USA today after flying out the the USA last night to be with my fiance for an extended period, for us both to spend some long term quality time together, while there we planned to apply for the K1 visa or talk to someone that could explain in plain english the route to making this transition as pain free as possible.......this as you can gather did not go to plan and i was denied entry, even though i had a return flight booked to return before the 90 day tourist entry visa expired.
As you might imagine this caused plenty of worry and shock and we are now worried this has or could effect our applying for the K1 visa.
Please tell me this has happened to one of you? if so then what you did after the shock wears off and that things will work out? and what steps to do now?
My fiance is now applying for the K1 visa do i need to send original documents to her? grrrrrrrrr think my head is going to explode.
please help my stress levels?

As long as you didn't tell any lies at the POE, relax. This kind of thing happens often. Start by reading the comprehensive guides here.

Your fiance will not be applying for a K1 visa. You will. She'll be petitioning for your privelege to apply. Welcome, you've found the right place to start your journey.

Thanks for your reply, no i was painfully honest about why i was going over, i had planned to go on the tourist visa for near enough the maximum stay and explained why and what the long term goal was, maybe a bit naive i know but though honesty was the best policy.
They said at i was denied entry due to thier suspition that i was planning on living and working in the USA even though had return flight, letter from my employer stating was on unpaid leave for period an when they expected me back at work....ii explained my plan was to go there see how things worked out for both of us and then apply for the visa's required, but they were having none of it....

According to the Embassy in this particular country, or, well, one of the four COs I've talked to in the past 11 months, it's not really a good idea to be honest if you want things to happen the way.... you'd like. Or, well, the way that actually makes sense, too.

Now you'll just have to wait for K1. Heh.

Are you suggesting they lie? That is a very bad idea.

You will get sent a hardcopy however this take anytime from a couple of days to a month to arrive. Ours was received by VSC Oct 6th and we have yet to get an NOA1. If you sent a cheque and it has been cashed you may be able to get the case number for it. You can then register on the USCIS site and you should be able to see when the NOA1 was sent.

Does it only do that if you pay for calls? We do free laptop to laptop calls and I have no call history when I log in.

No, we call each other ALL THE TIME for free & ALL of our calls are automatically saved. Look under history... it shows you call history & chat history. You don't have to be a paying member. star_smile.gif When you sign into Skype, a window opens up where you can see your friend lists, chat, & make calls. When this small window opens, click on the tab that says history. Once you have found it, you can choose what you want to view where it says "all events". There it can show your call history, chat logs, voice mails, transferred files, SMS, etc. Click on whatever list you wish to view. Then once you have the list you want, click on the "Prnt Scrn" (print screen) button on your keyboard or laptop & you can take screen shots of whatever you like & paste it on Paint or Word. Our call history is VERY LONG, so I have to take multiple shots. I hope this helps. smile.gif Let me know if you need any help. smile.gif

Oh I know about logging into Skype and the print screen option, I can do that. It's just when I followedyour previous instructions to go to the website and print off the calls there is no history.

First of all, thank you for your advice. I have another question about the passport. I know that we need to make copies of ALL PAGES of the passport. Does that include the blank pages? Also, the front and back covers? It sounds that we are losing our mind in this process >_<.... Just want to make sure.

If you are using the passport to prove US Citizenship then, yes, it's all pages.

We used birth cert to prove citizenship so we just copied the passport pages which had the stamps.

That's a great site YuAndDan, I would never have known there was a notary close to me (I live in *the middle of nowhere*, lol..). We're going to wait til my birthday, which happens to be a monday so my present will be my fiancée taking the nicely prepared package to be posted. This also helps to keep costs down as I'm pretty sure notaries won't be low-cost, and with the exchange rate as it is, a little all of a sudden becomes a lot.

Notary's here are a little pricy, one close to me in Cambridgeshire was charging £60 a document. Might be a different price near you though.
