K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresbig age difference
me and my fiance has 20 years gap at first i didn't know he look so young for his age LOL, you won't really have problem in the interview as long as you provide enough proof of your genuine relationship with your fiance :)
as for CFO, applicants who are age 18 to 21 must have parental consent in writing, those age 21 to 25 must have written parental advice (a written indication that the parents are aware of the couple's intent to marry). The revised Family Code of the Philippines, which took effect on August 4, 1988, prohibits marriage for individuals below the age of 18.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurespriority date?

Not according to this it isn't....

so it means the one we see on their website is the received date and the notice date on the hard copy that they sent us is the priority date? thank you so much :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurespriority date?

When you check your case status on USCIS.gov, or on the NOA1, it says "On xx/xx/2012 we received this....."

That's your priority date. Your official NOA1 date!

thank you :)

hello VJers :) which is priority date? the date they received our case? the date on their website? or the date on the paper they send us that they receive our docs? thank you in advance :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStill waiting for my NOA2 are they usually 5 months to the date?

so if i got the NOA1 on April 9th? I need to count 5 more months from the NOA1 date? that's too long....

yes :) 5 months from noa1, and sometime worst it will reach to 6 months grrrrrrrrrr this is really killing me.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPassport size
sometime we get confused of the passport size pic, but here in the Philippines passport pic size are smaller than the US passport pic size, BUT there's rules and guides on USCIS site on what size we need to send and that is 2x2, but I am praying no one will get any RFE from it, my friend had to resend new passport pic, but I am not sure if everybody will have the same situation :) good luck to all of us. and also in USEM they asked for 2x2 white background pic. http://travel.state....mples_5300.html
http://travel.state....toreq_5334.html
but i know some people too that didn't get RFE and got approved and now in US using the Philippines size passport pic :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPhotostat copy OK or must sign?

If they're still waiting for their NOA2, then they aren't out of the woods for receiving an RFE requesting originals.

yes they're not free yet of rfe but hoping they'll be ok, she was worried because she asked me after they sent their packet as for my part we used all originals that's what i told her, they're almost 5 months now and no news yet, :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPhotostat copy OK or must sign?

My fiance has signed, scanned and emailed her G325 and intention to marry letter. Would it be OK if I printed it and filed for processing or is it a must that she send me the original signed copies?

Thank you.

I think it should be original they said signatures must be original :) but if she signed it and dated it using a blue pen i think it will be ok, a scanned copy using black pen on the signature will make the copy look like xerox copy. I have a friend that sent their packet using scanned copies, they didn't get rfe or any news yet they're still waiting for their noa2 :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK2 not on NOA2 I-787

SET!!

Just got off the phone with the call center and after the initial attempt at brushing me off and waiting to hear from them, I asked for a supervisor. Two minutes later, the same rep came back on the phone and informed me that all was okay now and that we could go ahead and schedule the K2. Then we went around in circles about available days and ended up rescheduling the K1 for two days sooner and booking the K2 for that same time.

WHEW!

Thanks again for all the help VJer's!

congratulations and good luck :)

Another silly question....Can my fiance and I scan the birth certificate and send it to me as a pdf file? I just returned from visiting her and did not know this at the time....

yes :) as long as she scanned it good lol :) sometime here in the Philippines they get so paranoid including my self hahaha! but believe it or not they accept even photocopy/xerox copy on the day of interview but i don't advice that. scanned copy is better :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK2 not on NOA2 I-787

I am new to this whole process and just beginning the journey to bring my fiance from the Philippines to the U.S. I am confused by the whole K2 part of the visa. I am getting all our papers together and following the checklist. Is there a separate K2 form I have not been able to locate? My fiance has a son who is 3 yrs old and will be joining her coming to the U.S. and I want to ensure I do everything right....Thanks

all you have to do is put your fiancee's son's name on the form i-129f and it would be better if you include a copy of his birth certificate :).

Was the K2 daughter showing on the NOA2? How did the child receive confirmation notification about the appointment?

i will answer you again lol, Philippines is different from another country i mean the rules, before the USEM sends instructions on what to do and what are the docs you need to provide i mean the beneficiary, but now you can just download it on USEM website. they send confirmation letter after you set the appointment either online or tru phone call, and you won't see the name of the k2 on the noa2, but as long as you mentioned the name of the k2 on i-129f you are good to go. i am sure when you set her appointment tru phone call you received confirmation letter of her appointment :) either online or tru phone call they always ask for email address.

Okay, back to topic.

IF I go online and set an appointment for the K2 son, and IF it ends up being a different time than his mother's, can he still just go with her to her appointment and be included therein? And would "his" appointment then be canceled by the CO?

Or will he have to go back at his specified time?

he will get the same date, because you're going to use the same MNL case # :)
and if you want to cancel her interview you must do it at least 3 days before her interview :)

On the phone with a call center rep. The one that didn't know about K2 derivatives.

oh ok :) try to go http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ on that site, and set the appointment for him, you're online now there;s no harm on trying :) step 1: got to immigrant visas
2. click on apply for a visa
3 scroll it all the way down and click on )I do not meet any of the conditions listed above, and I wish to schedule an immigrant visa appointment.)
4.it will ask you to create an account, click on new user
5. you can now create your account and just follow the steps.
6.once you created an account you will see/be in a dashboard
7. on the left side there are options click on (schedule appointment.)
8.choose the immigrant then click continue.
9.click on K Visas ( Visa for Fiancee , Visa For Spouse ) then continue
10.choose K2 - Child of K-1 then continue
11. after you click continue it will ask for the passport details of the K2. contact information and the mailing address,
12. the next step is about the Receipt # and the MNL case # after you finish answering just click continue till you reached the calendar which you can see the available slots,

you don't have to worry here in the Philippines as long as you mentioned her son on I-129f you'll be ok, sometime those people answer us in the USEM don't really know everything
sorry for my long answer :) just in case you want to set his appointment you already have some idea :) good luck

Hmmm... I'm thinking that the rep sent the appoinment letter to my finacee's email address. I remember her asking about that while we were talking. And she never asked for my email address.

My fiancee can't sleep now! LOL

did you set appointment online or tru phone? either way they's going to ask for an email address because they're going to send the confirmation letter on the email add you gave to them.

My stepson was listed on the visa appointment email letter that was sent to my fiancee from the GUZ consulate.

here in the Philippines they don't send appointment letter anymore even the instruction, they now say that you can just download the instruction on USEM website here in Manila, a lot of my friend is already now in US but the instruction is not yet delivered, they work so slow, that's why they don;t send that anymore, i wish Philippines is like your country, sometime they give info that is hard to understand.

Was his appointment on a different date and time than your fiancee's? Is that why the visas came at different times?

I set it up for my finacee to pick up their visas in Manila.

no they have same date, it is weird sometime a lot of k1/k2 don't get their visa at same time even they had their interview at the same time, sometime the one they get first is the k2 visa or k1 first, but sometime they get it at the same time. actually you can already set his appointment, you have his BPI receipt # and the MNL case # that's what they asked when you set online, sometime i prefer setting an appointment online because you can see the available slots :)

I don't know what the process is in Manila, and I honestly don't remember if my wife's kids both had appointment letters or if they were included on my wife's appointment letter. I know it was one or the other because they needed an appointment letter in order to get the medicals completed and be admitted into the consulate.

yes here in Manila no need for appointment letters, only the confirmation letter of their interview, you'll get it right after you set the appointment, i don't know if the appointment letter and confirmation letter is the same :)
the confirmation letter is needed also when you do the medical, but that's also optional, here in SLEC as long as you have you MNL case # you can do the medical, but it is better to have the confirmation letter because they're going to attach it on the result when they submit it to the USEM.

they almost didn't make it to the CFO she's glad they did the seminar first while waiting for the visa both of them got their CFO sticker today :)

N/A means not applicable, if they ask you if you have relatives in US just put NONE, if the question is not applicable to you then put N/A :-) reading the question and thinking of the difference between NONE and N/A will make it easy for you to fill up forms or answer questions... :)

PhilippinesCFO Orientation

We were told that my Fiancée needed to bring the following documents to the CFO:

1.Two (2) valid identification cards (IDs) with photograph;
2.Duly completed guidance and counseling form;
3.If married, certified true copy and photocopy of marriage contract on security paper from the National Statistics Office, or Local Civil Registry Offices; or original and photocopy of marriage contract duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/ Consulate (if married abroad)
4.Other documents as may be required by the counselors; and
5.Payment of P250.00 counseling fee.

Her first Day:
My Fiancée brought the required documents but did not get her passport stamped.
The lady that handled her case said that she wanted to see actual pictures of us together and not copies. The questions that were asked were similar to the K-1 VISA interview. The lady also would not accept her parent’s official notarized consent to marry (completed by an Attorney in Manila). My Fiancée was told that her parents would have to hand write their consent.

Day 2:
Luckily her Parents just returned from the Provence to Manila. Her Parents hand wrote the Consent to Marry.

I called her Parents and asked them to go to the CFO Orientation with my Fiancée.

My Fiancée decided to bring our large document binder that she used during the K-1 Interview. It was lucky she did. The lady at the CFO Orientation asked her for my proof of support and proof of employment. Right when things seem to be over the Lady wanted to see my driver’s license. Luckily we included the license in the document binder. Then she asked for a copy of my Passport. Then the lady asked her Parents to produce their driver’s licenses.

At that point, I wish I was a fly on the wall! My future Mother in Law had about enough! Whatever she said it worked. The questions stopped and my Fiancée walked out with her Passport CFO certification.

did she get CFO sticker? after seminar you'll get CFO certificate and CFO sticker without the sticker she can't leave Philippines, the best place to get it done is at st.mary's they're not really strict, about the pictures of you and her they get one and keep it for their record, By the Way congratulations, you'll be with your fiancee so soon :) :) :)

PhilippinesCFO at PRISM in Manila No Better/Givin Fiancee a Hard Time

THe CFO in PRISM is really starting to piss me off. Who in the hell do they think they are. My fiancee is 25 years old, has notarized parental advice letters from her parent, my divorce decrees and everything that will be available for her upcoming interview at the Embassy. Now they are tell her that the additional requiremtns they need are a letter with a photo ID of her friend and mine that is here in the U.S. in Clarion, Iowa stating how we met and that she introduced us. What a crock of Sh_ _! Then they want a summarized letter of why my marriages didn't work out and then she has to give them a notarized letter saying she knoiws about my previous marriages and she will marry me. What a bunch of BS for power mongering A_ _holes!!! Of course she wants to marry me or she wouldn't be doing the CFO seminar, of course she knows how mnany times I have been married because she gave them my divorce decrees and finally it should not matter that we met through a friend here in the U.S. If I can't get in contact wiht the friend and they still refuse her then when she goes back home I will have her father go with her to the CFO in Cebu and raise some hell! THe CFO is BS! People of no consequence who are jealous that some people are able to leave the country. They are a bunch of haters who probably don't get laid and enjoy making peoples lives miserable. Everything she had should have been more than enough. :bonk:

PhilippinesNBI, BC and Cenomar ??

It really depends on the CO, some don't mind if it is over 6 months but they always prefer the new one, i have friends who had prob about NBI they had to get a new one and sent to USEM before they got their Visa, the Cenomar they always prefer 3 to 4 months old if you go beyond that they will ask you to get one again, but as I've said it really depends on the CO :) about the BC some don't care even it is old one, but just to make sure everything is ok just get new one if it is over 6 months old.

Plus if you were married before or you did some changes on your name you need to get an NBI with a.k.a

NBI is valid for 1 year, but do I need to get a new one, just in case it will be more than 6 months during the interview same as the BC?

Just want to hear some clarifications on this?

PhilippinesManila DENIES K1 co-sponsors

I just went to the Philippines in March and I'm finishing a very intense accelerated nursing program at Hopkins right now so I definitely won't be able to go back to the Philippines before next August. Even if I could go there and we married, wouldn't it mean starting this horrible process all over again with a spouse visa, spending more money, and waiting another 9 months to possibly be denied again for financial reasons? Unfortunately, it seems that no option is a good option right now.

actually it is not really denial, call USEM ask them what you can do, usually they will say provide current sustained income or they're going to give a certain time usually a year so that you can work on meeting the required poverty guideline, it already happens in many of my friends now, one of them left to US last week, she was denied but her fiance called and USEM told them to provide current sustained income and new financial report that showing you meet the poverty guideline, her fiance includes some docs of his assets too :)
