Oops. I should have multi-quoted. I hear you. I have a husband of 6 years and a daughter I had in the US. I lived in the US for 4 years and this is my second GC journey. Everything I own is back in the US, even my bank accounts. It's horrible. My husband is leaving us to go back to the US because he is not allowed to stay here, meanwhile my daughter is begging him to stay. Damn immigration laws and the breaking up of families!

  Why?  Rant here and people it's time to think US Citizenship it holds a lot of perks and it can't take away where you were born. :D

I too am going through the green card process again because my time outside of the US was not beyond my control (despite studying on a federal student loan and filing taxes). It is a horrible feeling being kept out of the country one has made home. I hope things hurry along for you.

I have been shocked by the attitudes of some people on the NVC thread. So many people love to hide behind their computers and be mean -- it makes them feel powerful in a life where they probably have none.

Would you happen to know the new process or what they are doing differently then before? I'm just curious

 

  The new away I believe is you will pay for the AOS and IV fees together since you will now be sending both packages together and they will be reviewed in the same way.

  The old way you had to wait for the AOS fee then fill that out send it wait for the IV fee to come due pay that and now a days that is taking forever  60 calendar days or less.  So it saves you time if and only if you don't get any checklists.  Not really sure if it will be better in the long run who knows. But hears hoping. :D

Lets hope so! But as far as getting them to actually receive the files are getting later and later. Kanuk, I feel for you as one time green card holder having to go through the process again.

I am petitioning for my mother, who also had a green card and lived in the States for 5+ years but never got US citizenship. She went back home and stayed busy with house repairs, dental surgeries, etc. and as a result she overstayed her 12 months.  Since she is retired, it was not an issue for us, but it turned out to be a huge issue once she wanted to return to the US. Now she has to go through the process again. In the meantime, she has not been able to see me either get married, or have a baby - her first grandchild. She was refused a tourist visa since she did not meet the intent to immigrate requirement. And since her dental surgeries and house repairs were "within her control" she was not deemed eligible as a returning resident. My husband and I are expecting again and I hope mom will get to see my belly this time around. It has taken us over a year to go through this process and we are still not done with it. :clock:

i recieved an email today checklist cover letter in the email it says they havent recieved my i864 or some of them pages were missing i dont get it i mailed them each and everything properly covered in a file thru fedex i am reallly stressing out they have all my original documents how can they say they havent rec it yet. 2 months ago i received an email from them saying they have rec my doucments and its under review now and due to high number of cases they will reply me in 60 days

please guys i am really stressing out any help would be highly appreciated

Oh wow , I live by henry mayo hospital, they are always looking for respiratory therapists. Hope the drive will not be to bad. Just get on the 5north and exit on mcbean parkway. oh I can' t wait to meet you, my Poe will be Atlanta , then a connecting flight to lax. I am not scared to go near the border, this journey alone is much scarier. I hope your eyes are fine now. I had my daughter at habor/ UCLA hospital, in Torrance. I hope you have kids soon, your cat would be very jealous

 

    Hummm  what city is that in?  But can't work right now maybe in the future and there aren't many of us anymore, it's not an easy job.  I remember RN's complaining that we did nothing but talk and never showed up when they called us.  Hahahaa my supervisor had a brilliant idea, have the RN's follow us for a week.   Hahhaaa by the end of the second day most of them were in tears they had no idea what we did and how far we walked a day. The complaints stopped. :D  

 

    I'm not afraid of the boarder just not good to be that close things happen that aren't very nice.   But I'm sure they have it under control.  Awww thank you hahaa I have four cats all rescues two from the USA two from the streets of Cairo they are Egyptian Maus :D.  

 

   I need more surgery for my eyes so I can read again without glasses then once I use glasses my vision is really messed up. If I win the lotto then soon. ;)

I have no idea but I definitely think that it's worth it to take the time to make it known.  Send an email and maybe even take the time to call one day just to ask for a supervisor and let them know.  I would think that if a supervisor got that compliment they would let Rick know about it and maybe they even have merit awards or employee of the month or something.  I'm sure it would make Rick's day, make a supervisor beam and hopefully give them a reason to be extra helpful for at least a few hours that day. 

 

I had the same experience with Jim, he was awesome!!!  I'm going to find a way to let them know, probably when I call to ask for a supervisor to look at my DS261 that still isn't approved.  :-)
 

 

    I agree, I rarely complain they have to be realllllllllllly horrible but I also like to compliment those that deserve it.  Don,Jim, Gus and a few others deserve to know they are appreciated by those they help. :D

I thought my question would better thrive here than in the 'normal' nvc thread,

 

I've seen plenty of people complaining about the nvc -usually justified- and Soloenta even has a link in her signature where to send complaints about Rep's that are w@nkers. Now I am wondering, can I use the same address to tell the supervisor that a certain rep did an outstanding job and was actually polite to me?
I've been around here for a while, and I've called the nvc about 1 gazilion times and for the first time I had a rep (Rick) who was polite, and actually tried to help me.

So.. does anyone have any input on this?

 

  Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss, I did that the other day for Don he was great.  That e-mail you can use for several things and it's important to say good things also. I'll fix my signiture to reflect that.   And welcome happy you here. :)

They have until the 20th of this month to get back to me before I start calling and getting crazy because they think this whole process is a joke.

So far though (FOR ME) NVC has been decent with their timing, I'm trying to be patient until my calender deadline is reached before I get crazy because USCIS was just so terrible for me. A year and a half of my life wasted by those people.

No worries girl(soloenta), you are truly a sweetheart. You always have kind words, by God's grace I hope you have a beautiful married life with your husband like my parents. A true soulmate. I do not like fresno, and Bakersfield I call them cow and hick town. Although I want to go to san Diego, I love that city. I really hope we all get to meet, it would be great. So how is the job market in cali. I left my job at Kaiser permanente(claimes adjuster).

 

  Awww thank so very much means the world to me your so sweet and kind. OMG I hate Fresno and Bakersfield is way worse if that's possible.  San Diego is very nice but to close to the Boarder for me.  But still close enough to L.A. so good place to be. :)

 

  I'm a Respiratory Therapist but haven't worked since I got back, taking care of my parents.   But hospital work is always good, I used to work at Cedars and UCLA.  :D  And I think your line of work is a great one and always hiring. :)

Soloenta, I read what someone wrote about your font size. I am very sorry. Sometimes people comment on things without consideration for circumstances or feelings. My father just had cateract and LASIK surgery, which did not go well. My heart goes out to you.

Thanks soloenta. Well I do like northern California(san Francisco, and Santa Cruz). I have some friends in fresno. My dad won't want to live in cali, he wants to be were my mom is buried. She is buried in our compound. She was his teenage sweetheart, they were married for 46years before she passed. Well since you are in LA, maybe we all can meet and have dinner. Someone else on this thread lives in orange county, so we can all have fun, or perhaps take a road trip to Vegas.

 

   So sorry Ebu was posting to you and all went poof.   I love Ca but Fresno not so much but the rest is wonderful as you know.

 

   How bittersweet, I don't blame your beloved father for not wanting to leave.  I would do the same thing, when you love someone that much death doesn't change the depth of your love.  God bless him and your family I can only imagine the loss you must still feel.

soleonta , I am having a hard time linking my timeline. I am beginning to get frustrated. HELP!!!!!! No my visa is an ir5, parent with a united states citizen child. I lost my green card, when my mother passed in 2011, I came home to take care of dad. He is now doing fine, he would travel with me, once I get my visa. He would stay for 5months then return back home. He is an active bishop in my country, so he cannot live in the states. Although I would be travelling back and forth to make sure he is fine. My older sis would file I130 for him next year. My daughter turned 21 last year, I miss my darling so much. So does she. She is my life and soul, I would do anything for her legally. I miss California so much, especially the cheese cake factory, papa Joe's pizza, disneyland, universal studios, magic mountain, black Friday ( I love to shop), and the beautiful weather. Venice , Zuma, Leo Carrillo beach here I come. oooh hiking Topanga canyons, calgrove, placerita , can' t wait.

 

   OH EBu I'm so very sorry about your mother may she rest in peace.   I'm so happy your father is doing well and your getting things together for your family.   Listen don't worry about your timeline right now I think one of the other beautiful people here can help you with that later I bet I confused you so hold off on that.  

 

 

  I know I love California also great state to live in my favorite is Northern CA love San Francisco and Napa Sanoma counties just lovely.   You will be home soon I don't think they take as long when you have let your Visa lapse  if you can become a citizen it's much better that way.  God bless you for taking care of your beloved father and maybe he can be an active Bishop here in LA?  Any way don't get frustrated with the Time Line we will get you help. :)

I'm sending in our AOS and IV packages after work and I had a dream that I forgot my birth certificate and marriage license, and I didn't put anything in the body of the emails that you were supposed to (names, birthdays, case number etc.) I just put "please see attached documents for AOS/IV packets".

Now I'm paranoid that I'll forget something. Off to read the Wiki a hundred more times!

 

   Well, I think your dream is a good thing because you will double check and avoid any checklist.  So you wont second guess yourself write down everything that is in the package for your records so you wont be thinking later you forgot something.  I have seen it happen they worry for nothings.  Will be praying you don't forget a thing. :) (F) (L) (F)

Whoops! Guess I wrote my post about finding support for the I-130 approvals in the wrong section. Although I must admit the few weeks that I've been here I'm kind of worried about being on this thread - Hope I don't get stoned because of living abroad and getting fast tracked through USCIS - I see that's a sore topic for most and I only have love and sympathy for everyone going through (and have gone through) the long haul.

Thanks soleonta for welcoming me, we are kind of the same. I am a Leo august 18, and waiting to get back to southern California(Santa Clarita). Hi Soloenta, and Samareen 23 I have been following you guys since I130 thread (february). I new all the stress and ####### we all went through from uscis. My pd is June 2013, stayed in national benefits center for 6months, then shipped to Nebraska service center in Dec 2013. Then waited for another 4months till approval on April 10, 2014. Got to nvc April, 29. Paid fees June 4, iv July 17, scanned iv July25. Damn checklist for aos on august 22 sent checklist august 26, and scanned august 29. hopefully won' t get another checklist. I know how you guys feel, I feel exactly the same. I miss my daughter so much, no one cares about our plight. I was a silent watcher on saylin's thread till you created this fantastic one. I hope and pray we all get cc's soon. I am pulling for you soleonta for next week. and samareen 23 you are next my dear. you'll should continue to keep the faith, this too shall pass.

   OMG yes the missing part is the worst of all it's horrible and no one understands that's true wish I didn't to be honest.   Such a feeling of impotence beyond what words can describe, what gets me the most is that our lives are in the hands of strangers that can care less.  But soon we will be out of this and then it's time to heal :D

The rep said the only thing we're waiting on is the checklist response, which we have in our system so just gotta wait for them to get to August 15th now. Everything else is good to go! :joy: :joy: :joy:

Thank you sweet heart and yes they are any little bit of joy I felt is gone.  It makes me think they are just doing this on purpose to make me wait longer, paranoid I know but why not.  We shall see what happens.  Someone with a scan date of July 28Th receive their CC I should have been first. Geez I feel like a baby hahahaa.  crying-baby-smiley-emoticon.gif

 

They've started using this new tactic of saying documents are under review when they have already been reviewed. I had to call twice to get an answer from them, they kept saying it's under review and I was like what are you talking about, someone earlier told me they have been reviewed and then they would accept the fact that it has been reviewed.

I think they are just trying to have less people call or giving out false information on purpose! InshAllah you have a CC soloenta. The false checklist meant that they have reviewed everything else and the only thing missing was the AOS! :yes: :yes:

I believe it same happened to me last night, my documents have been reviewed today they are under review.  I asked Ivy if she thought I would be getting CC soon and she said I hope and would think so.  Hahaha she was very sweet :).   They will make people call more, I never call and have called twice yesterday and so far once today and the AOS was accepted the idiots hahaa oh well we shall see what happens and thank you so much. :)

Ok spoke to Ivy who gave her name as Abby at first (confused me) she insisted my AOS was all messed up hahaha but I told her Don said it was accepted 08/10 and I asked Ivy to please speak to a supervisor who later found out is Mary.  Mary said all is good  documents are under review and should have CC soon and AOS accepted.  I asked if they could remove that, it's only confusing the Reps and she said it will be.  So only God in heaven knows. :D  No CC for me which is fine doesn't make me happy but what are you going to do. :D

so concluding to the recent CC's , NVC is within their 60 days of reviewing  ( 53 days now ?)

 It seems the SOB's are keeping close to their word but seems like it's speeding up slowly.

 

Am confused here. I don't seem to understand!!!!

  Thought it was a false check list since my AOS was approved was even verified by a supervisor.  Hope they aren't messing with me. :(

 

WTH soloenta. They are saying they haven't recieved ur checklist response to AOS. Why the hell are they keep telling u that ur AOS isn't approved!!! Call them right away in like 20 min!!! Ask them to tell u clearly and make up their minds!! Idiots!!

They keep telling her ghar her AOS isn't approved. Now I guess she needs to call and talk to a supervisor and tell them that she was told I was completed. And to give her a case complete already! Mann Nvc is just crazy!!

Oh no worries I"m calling them :( just never ends I knew I shouldn't have felt happy. Oh well.


That's exactly what is getting me confused with the BS of NVC. Reps are saying AOS isn't accepted and Supervisor is saying AOS is accepted. Did the supervisor or stupiddd reviewer forget to click on the accept botton after reviewing her AOS? This is a complete BS.

Soloenta please call them as soon as they are opened.

I woke up to an email from NVC telling to me pay my IV fee. Yay!!! 

 

I can't pay it yet thanks to the fee increase since transferring the original amount but hopefully it gets paid by next week  :joy:
