IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - September 2014	Fun story! NOT! On August 1st I received a checklist via email. I followed the instructions and posted my response the same day. Yesterday (more than a month later!) I got the hard-copy in the mail with the same date of the emailed one. To my surprise they didn't match! It was exactly the same checklist but the email requested renewed forms from me, the Petitioner, but the hard copy requested renewed forms from the only joint sponsor. I called 12 times before I could even get on hold, but I finally got through to a supervisor. She was very friendly, apologized profusely BUT....guess what? Yep you got it, there's not a whole lot NVC can/will do. She admitted it was their mistake and told me to reply to the "real" checklist, being the hard-copy, and include an explanation letter. I explained that I had already replied to the emailed checklist and all my documents are scanned as of August 13th, and that I expect an answer within 60 days of that date. She told me there's no promises, even though it is NVC at fault, and that this mess up could still set us back. I spent the entire day in tears,   writing letters, emailing to our joint sponsor in the US, and trying to organize the "real" checklist response. I really don't mind having to fill out more papers but I AM BEYOND WORDS for my disgust and true contempt of this entire process. We have been in this nightmare for over a year, and NVC's mistake could cost us a lot more time. I have already prepped the packet and my us joint sponsor will mail it out today-ish. I just needed somewhere to vent. I cannot understand why all of this has to be so hard. I will never understand why our government slaps an honest hand, encourages illegal immigrants, takes more time and money than they need, and almost forces one to go the illegitimate route. UGH!       Oh sweet heart I'm so sorry this happened and they should make it up to you when it's their fault.  I can't see why they can't fix it.   I'll be praying by some miracle they fix the problem soon.  You vent all you want that's what we're here for. Seems like they're moving along!      What I tell ya huh, huh, my crystal ball never lies. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - September 2014	NVC is all over the place. This person told me 60 days for the DS 261 to be reviewed. That's fine, I asked him should I follow the new or the old process, he said new process and I should wait to send my AOS and IV package together So I told him if I should follow the new process then shouldn't the fees be available in 15 days? He said no for the fees the timing can slightly fluctuate due to work load. Slightly... But he insisted I send both packages together and wait for the other fees first. So u mean we may not receive the email on.which past of the aos is the error     I wouldn't trust them and some people get e-mails some don't.  Even if they do you'll be ahead of the game send it out before you get the e-mail if they ever send one.  Call have everything ready to go and if anything needs to be fixed, fix it and send.  The quicker the better. .  Your in my prayers.       Errors on the AOS?  I sent three hahaha aaa two I filled out and totally messed up in so many ways and the last one that a beautiful angel helped me with and saved me from waiting here forever.  I'm just not good at things like AOS at all.   So I had ton's of errors.   Really call . How I wish there is no NVC stage in this process. This is my 5th month with NVC, and God helping me that I don't get any checklist for my IV. **Me and my hubby would have done something good with our lives with this 5months that is just been wasted on NVC.   I know, I cry when I think of all the wasted time not being with my husband.  Poor guy lost wt and I gained   So now I'm on a diet to lose and he's on one to gain how fair is that hahaaa.  But I feel your pain sister and am praying none of us get checklists we deserve CC's and we will get them. Just Skyped hubby as he is now awake and he said he thought it was just a standard form and not to worry. Yeah, right!! It isn't even the IV package it is the IV checklist. Love Xx     I sent you a private message because I check out the other thread every once in a while for those no one answers thought we might help out here for those poor souls.  Anyway posted this to you and it helped me out tremendously I think haven't heard about my IV yet but how can they reject a document if ok'ed by the Embassy.   "Just saw your post don't know if anyone responded on Saylin's thread but, send an e-mail to your Embassy in OZ with a scan of the document in question ask them if they accept it.    I'm sure they will say yes then send this e-mail to NVC and a hard copy your husband can do that and call telling them it was accepted by the Embassy.   Don't panic all will be well you'll see.    I did this and it worked nothing was rejected"   Too many things to complain about, not sure where to start !      Hahaha welcome to the thread take a load off get comfy and take it one step at a time, we are here for you. I would like to fill my timeline, but I don't have a record of the dates, so I'll try to put that together what I have to see if I can come out with something. I've been 13 months in this process, and 2 more await for me.     Call NVC have everything written down so all you add are the dates, ask them for arrival and scan dates they'll give them to you no worries. That way we can gauge when things will be coming due as in CC. and don't worry we will be here with you no fears.   Hi guys I have come to join the party! I'm sorry you're not sleep well I don't know what to suggest that isn't a drug lol   I called in sick on Tuesday and Wednesday because I just couldn't get out of bed and face the day. It's really bad, but I pretended I had a cold and a fever when I didn't, I just didn't think they'd be sympathetic to me saying "I'm not coming in today because I feel sad ;-;"    The days off didn't really make any difference, I just laid in bed only getting up to use the restroom and maybe get food and drink once in a while. I hate when I become this pathetic. My weekends consist of me doing basically what I did on my days off sick. Thankfully one of my friends has invited me out for drinks on Sunday so that'll be a nice break to the monotonous misery.   I haven't even been checking for the N/A because of how insane I went checking for the IV invoice in June and July. At this point I figure I might just wait for the case complete or interview email because it's like watching a pot of water boil, really. If you turn your back it'll happen quicker. It's just difficult to turn your back and ignore it at the same time.  Oh I'm so happy to know your sleeping better, I slept for one hour I'm so rested now.     OMG I so know how you feel, I have so much to do taking care of my parents and sometimes I just lay there wide awake just staring out the window or wall.  I just need my husband I sleep like a baby when he is with me.  But I can still shake it off, have you considered seeing  a specialist?  They give expedited if you are severely depressed I've seen it.  You don't have to take the meds they give you they wont know and an expedite will get you where you want to go and your being truthful.  Think about it.   Hi folks! The last two weeks before my CC where the most stressful to me in this journey. You really need to come up with something to keep you occupied for hours for the next few weeks... reading, gardening, rediscovering your town/city (and I don't mean the bars) ...etc.     Nah... just wash it in a with a diet coke and you'll be fine. It's an awful process and it has only gotten worse, but it'll come to an end and your new life will be full of wonderful moments together that slowly overwrite the memory of these days. HOWEVER, there's one exception - I don't have a middle name either, but I think for that I'm going to just cross that field out (or type "-----------"). I was going to write N/A but... juuust in case, I don't want my papers to say "FirstName N/A LastName".    I don't have the 1040 here but yes, I'm pretty sure line 22 is right (total income). I also had the same problem with the checkbox, decided to check it manually.      NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for God's sake just put N/A where your middle name should be!!      Please don't forget to write your case number on the top right hand side of every single document and paper, form you send.       Ok I'll be back later. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	The NVC Moral Support/Ranting Thread	Hi everyone. I'm totally bushed tonight. I was going to call NVC to find out the scan date for my IV package, but I've been so depressed I can't even muster the energy to do it. I should be happy I'm near the end of the process, but I think I'm just really worn out from waiting so long.   I keep thinking if it weren't for the backlogs, I'd be in the US right now. I just don't wanna call NVC and get someone talk to me like I'm an idiot. I've already spent all day on a time management course at work where I was treated like an idiot for being a "right-brained" person with no organisational or planning skills...   I can't even fully commit myself to my work anymore. Since the beginning of this year, everyone at work has known I'd be leaving "in a few months" so I haven't been as involved with things and get left out. I got recommended for a pay rise by my line manager in April, but her manager said no because we can't afford it, then gave pay rises to his finance team I guess he said no since I'm leaving so it's not worth rewarding me. I wish I hadn't said anything now since it's taken so long and it's just awkward at work. Every month I'm still there they're like "I thought you were leaving o_O"   The company is heading in a bad direction anyway with dubious business practices. It's getting stressful and I just want to leave! I feel like I've been on the brink of leaving, but can't quite make my escape because the backlogs just get bigger and I need to save money before I do eventually leave. Knowing my luck, the London embassy will get backlogged next.   And that is my rant for today        Oh sweet heart I know how you feel didn't sleep a wink yesterday and I'm wiped out from constantly checking for the infamous N/A.   Is it possible for you to take a few days off?  Recharge and try to relax and take it easy?  Sooner than you think you will be walking out of that office with a box full of your stuff and saying goodbye to them for the very last time.     That's kinda my situation too, every month someone appears and says things like "Thought you left/leaving", and there is the fact they don't understand the process and the backlog, when I say I have to wait 60 more days they say something like "Uuuh, I think you're not leaving", "I think this thing of yours isn't going to work out", "You're leaving next year", sometimes I think my worst mistake was to tell everybody that I planned to leave, not because they're bad persons, but later that person in a random conversation someone says "Oh he's leaving to the US", and suddenly without knowing, a large group of people builds expectations about you, and then the discouragement part repeats, and so on, but I'm cured of that issue, eventually will come, so cheers.   This is the reason only my family knows, I knew it would make everything worse.   But soon all this will be over, try if you can to ignore them they may be nice but your business is yours!       Talk to you guys later going to try to sleep a little bit. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	The NVC Moral Support/Ranting Thread	I'm here because I want to share my frustration about this process, yesterday I received a checklist concerning my birth certificate, I just went nuts because that's the certificate that the consulate here requests, a call later, I just found out my family didn't sent the certified copy I gave to them, they just sent a scanned photocopy, and today they're sending the real one, another 60 days for me, I thought september was my month. T_T      Oh my I'm so very sorry but as they say in our country "no se mueve la hoja de un arbol sin la volunta de Dios."   "Not even the leaf of a tree moves without the will of God" all will be well you'll see.       Viva Ecuador!                                         Please when you get a chance fill in your timeline it helps others help you. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	The NVC Moral Support/Ranting Thread	I think it's taking NVC almost 60 calender days to review packages.     Well, at least they didn't lie when they sent us the 60-day email.     My 60th calender day is Sept 22nd.  I don't expect to hear anything from NVC until next Tuesday or Wednesday so I may get CC on my 54-55th calender day.       I agree, I'm not even going to bother to call tonight I just get way to nervous, just hate calling.   Hi to everyone!! Thanks to soloenta and this ranting and whining thread I´ve decided to write to the American Ambassador to Spain. I read some of you have written to their Senator and/or Congressman for getting involved in their cases. Because I have no Senator o Congressman here in Madrid (I am the beneficiary) and the embassy here going to process my visa I am, going to rant and whine to the American Ambassador here (politely to try to get any result). I will let you know if he is sensitive to this eternal waiting....   Welcome Altito, so happy you have joined us.  Well, I for one will be praying they listen to you and all goes well.  There should be a way to fix things when they go wrong for immigration no matter the country.  One person should not have this much power over us. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	The NVC Moral Support/Ranting Thread	Hey guys I have a question.   I called NVC today and was told that I didn't have to translate the police certificate and that I didn't need military records for my husband because on the reciprocity page it's listed as unavailable or unknown.     Is this true that the police certificate doesn't have to be translated? And does anyone have any experience or concerns with military records that they can share with me?   Thanks guys!!!     This might be Embassy/Country specific, for me everything had to be translated the good thing is that in Egypt most things are available in both Arabic and English.  You might want to post this on Saylin's thread.   Geeeeeeeeez wish I had posted it on the first page but they you know it already.        I for one rather be safe than sorry if you can get the document and there in Spanish have them translated.  But if there right then there is no need. My gut instinct tells me it's a good thing -- which is weird because I never think positively. The contractor also won a USCIS contract so they seem to be speeding up.    Fingers crossed. You need to hurry up and receive your case complete!!    I am dying for a December interview but that is probably impossible unless NVC really speeds up.  Much love.   I'm really pissing myself off, lost all my multiquotes hahahaa ok here we go again.   Always go with your gut instinct, I'm sure your right but I just don't trust them but God willing your right.   Thank you so much praying we all get out of immigration soon and back to our normal lives.    Ok here goes.. on the 864ez I'd like to avoid chk lists. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	The NVC Moral Support/Ranting Thread	Just called NVC twice, first Rep sounded very sleepy and she informed me that my case has not been reviewed yet and gave me the 60 day speech, I didn't even bother asking her anymore questions because she just sounded so so so sleeeeeepy lol I called again because I'm so anxious for a CC and waiting another weekend for NVC is frustrating!! So JOY was not nice whatsoever, I didn't get to ask her about my case when she was already telling me that I need to let 60 days pass by, that I will get notified by email. I said OK, and asked if she knew once they got to my case how long it takes foe NVC to review packets, on average. She said "I said 60 days!!" Her tone bothered me and I explained to her that I was not asking how long it would take for them to get to my case but how long they actually take reviewing the packets, she said she didn't know. I asked what case they're working on, she said she didn't know, I told her another Rep yesterday let me know what case NVC was on, she said that must have been a special kind of Rep because she does not have access to that info... ugh!!! 52 days & counting... scan date 07/22--- so sad guys      She's such a rotten little monster and you can complain and I think you should.  Really she's getting paid to answer our questions not make our day worse.  If I ever get her she will hear from me for sure.  I have had it with nasty mean people.         Take heart my friend your so very close just a few days I'm thinking 3 might find your CC by mid next week so cheer up.  I know how frustrating it is I'm checking the site every 30 mins and no change hahaaa God will it ever change. I received a response from the AskNVC address (I had sent it a couple of weeks ago to the old address) and the person who responded is from FCi Federal and is apparently a "support contractor". I just checked out their website and they won a contract with NVC in April.      I wonder if this will make it faster or slower?  They have a period to ajust to the new work and system not sure if it's a good thing but we shall soon see. Once you click on it just scroll down to the bottom of the page you will see the quote. Then after typying your reply to the quote, you will leave some space and then go over to another question or post and click on multi quote again, follow same process and multi quote as many post as you want and then hit on your post icon.      OMG ty sound easy now for a test run hahhaha ty doll.      Mexico is a lovely city, though am not too familia with much places there but I enjoyed every bit of my stay there. I got married in Cancun, OMG it was a lovely experience. For one thing, if the month of September is over without them getting their interviews, their visas are gone forever. For another, and still worse, DOS declares twice the number of winners as are available for the year. Many of the winners lose their "winning" if their country's visa allocation is exhausted before their cases are complete.       If I had to respond to every nasty incidence, real or perceived, I would be in three or four traffic related fist fights before I get to work every morning. Besides, we're already spending more time than we should interacting with all the nice people on VJ. Why should we waste anymore with the other sort? Keep in mind as well that some people see themselves as simply blunt and tell-it-as-it-is type and not nasty at all. They have their place in this world, and if we can't stand them, we better just steer clear of them. I have been busy with job lately so I don't post much but I do read every comment. I can't find words to express my anger towards that nasty post. Guys I have been on VJ for a longgg time and the person who posted that I have been following them since like april 2013 on the ucsis thread. And TRUST ME, if they were going through this backlog at Nvc we would have gotten atleast 5 posts per day because that's what used to happen at ucsis thread. Nobody understands our pain and frustration after first going through Uscis hell hole and the being stuck here so it makes me really angry at somebody to just come and call people dirt or annoying who are here for everybody. Soloenta we all LOVE u, ur big fonts, ur cute emoticons and ur compassion towards everybody!! Hahaha I'm from the hot humid sunny beachy part of Brazil: North east. More precisely the state of Bahia, born and raised in the capital, Salvador. SUUUUCH a beautiful place!! I invite you all to come here. We hosted the FIFA World Cup this year and I was a volunteer in it, awesome experience.
