IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - September 2014	Well..... my wife and I are devastated.  She is in tears.  Crushed.  After surviving the USCIS backlog and 11 months in process both our IV and AOS packages were reviewed yesterday and we are getting a Checklist. I cannot adequately express our sadness at this time as it looks like it might be another Christmas separated.   And it's so frustrating of an error.  Checklist on the AOS.  Section 6, 13.A.1  Total Income.  I really can't believe it.  Something so basic.  Something covered here countless times by many others.  We used an attorney and he totally blew it by using line 37 instead of line 22 on the 1040.  I pay some spousal support to my old ex which is the only difference in the 2 lines.  But I'm crushed....it's my fault.  Although she insisted on using an attorney her relatives "highly recommended" I never trusted him completely.  I continually questioned him along the way and he seemed to know his stuff.  Unfortunately I let my guard down and did not follow up on this one point to make sure he used the right number. Everything else was accepted.  Just this one number doesn't match the tax return that was submitted right along side it. Kind of silly if you think about it.   We will likely get the stinging email in a day or two.   And given the ridiculous incompetence of our government offices and the NVC's inability to plan for this predictible backlog, this will cost Rosalit and I another two months waiting.  This is the worst possible time to be checklisted by the NVC.   Sorry for the rant and thanks for listening.  Congrats to everyone that have received their CC recently.  Someday we hope to join you guys.   Well, I'm going to sign off of VJ for a while.  I was here frequently the last 2 weeks as our 60 day wait was coming to pass.  But now I can't bear to even think about this process any more for a while.         I'm so very sorry this happened to you and boy can I understand her saddness poor baby I feel her pain.  I want to believe there is a reason for this that if this hadn't happened you would have gotten a horrible CO and put in AP but since this happened you wont.   I know a stretch but one that keeps the hair on my head.   I'll be praying all goes smoothly and quickly after this.     God bless you both and try to stay strong.   EYYYYYYY                MY CASE IS COMPLETED TODAY AFTER 58 DAYS OF AOS RFE REVIEW.... Then he asks me to come visit him, which I can't due to work. Ugh this is such a downward spiral. Which is why I stay holding off but inshAllah soon. My husband was incredibly uncomfortable with doing something that is a) a brand new process for an existing file and b) to do with our original documents. He doesn't want to take any risks and I understand that.   Does anyone know if the DS-261 saying "completed" is good and means IV bill might be invoiced soon? Also looks like Yvette is the bearer of good news today because...   My AOS packet was approved today!!! I had to ask twice because all she said was, "well your first packet, AOS, looks good" So I clarified, " So my affidavit of support was accepted?" She replied, "Yep, it looks good."Scan date July 17th. I know it is no CC, but I am so happy! For the benefit of others I filed I-864EZ and I wrote NA all over that thing, not a blank space was to be found. I included my last three years tax transcripts, a letter from my employer, and 6 months of pay stubs.   Good luck to all, it's been a good week on VJ so far. With my IV scan date of 7/22... maybe I'll even see a CC this week? Seems like they're on July 18th for now. Ppl should be thankful for not waiting as long as we did .im also sick of some people who ask me did u get ur visa ? Oh why is it taking so long it used to take six months etc :/ ugh      OMG yes hahaaa actually don't talk to anyone about this but my parents and husband outside VJ.  Even my brother looks at me oddly when I tell me the progress so I've just given up on that.   Most people do think you just fill out some paper work and it arrives in the mail.  Thank you sweet heart. Was just lying in bed whole day in the earlier part of last week without energy and still feeling tired. I applied for a job on Wednesday and I got it on Saturday. Today was my second working day and I feel a Whole lot better! I should have done this before. U guys are so amazing u remembered and missed me we sent our checklist response. I read someone's post that they are reviewing both packages together and my IV is 24th July but I m definitely not getting my hopes up because it sounds too good to be true. Just trying to keep myself distracted by working now      Oh sweet heart how could we not miss you and wonder how your doing, you are part of our journey!  Well, as I said I think NVC despite themselves are making progress, slowly mind you but progress.       WOW wish I could work, what a great idea to keep busy and make a little money at the same time sounds wonderful.  Best thing you could have done I agree so you can keep your mind off of they insanity for a bit. Our DS-261 was received 7/1814 and was approved on 9/2/14 (but they couldn't tell me that until 9/5/14).    Paid the invoice... Now just have to wait until the DS-260 is available to submit... and then wait some more!   I don't have a lot of hope, but I have a little hope that the one supervisor was right and both packages could be reviewed based on the AOS scan date instead of the IV package scan date! They do NOT work on Saturdays, Sundays, or US National Holidays. And despite what you may see or hear, they unlikely work any overtime. And keep in mind, emails are automated and delayed. So, if you receive an email on the weekend, it does NOT mean they are actually working on the weekend. THEN we are further delayed at the NVC stage. Like you, I have been hanging on since MAY 2013. Let me repeat MAY 2013! I used to say I laugh to keep from crying. Now, I cry to keep myself from laughing hysterically like somone having a nervous breakdown. I need to ask my family if I am hiding well or is the breakdown still peeking through where they can see it :-)      Hahahaha OMG yes same here and mine was first week of March 2013 for those zipping by and complaining.  I know we all want to be with our loved ones no matter how long it has been, as it should be.  I think I'm just tire and tired and sick of this whole thing.  I'm trying to be strong but it seems we just can't catch a break.     Happy I'm not the only one I was feeling horrible. Well, at least people after us will have an easier time. Thank God for that!            There is no easy way to say it so I wont try.   Most of the people getting to this stage right now had smooth saling at USCIS, how long did it take most of us to reach this stage?  I'm sorry but I want a ________ insert expletive, a break also.   We keep seeing people zip on by who pretty much just started the process and complain how long it's taking to get CC and yet they get another break.   I'm tired of it, I'm sorry I can't be happy for them.   I don't want them to go through what we did but I just can't be jumping up and down with joy either. My wife USC living with in India when we married from October 2013. We have submitted all AOS packed including domicile as she is not currently living in US, we submitted driving licence, latest bank statements, credit card statements, voted Id, recent mails to intended address and my father in law is my joint sponsor. As may of them saying like we need to have rental aggrement and when we go to US my father in law is taking care of US. So what needs to bring when attending to interview. Please vj friends get me out of this worries.        Have your father in law write a letter stating you will both will be living with him and can stay as long as you both want/or find a place, that should cover it.   Don't worry that will cover it, so I have read. As long as I see the website, they seem releasing AOS and IV fee invoices at the same time. Not only there is no process between those two invoice payments but also it makes more sense in the new process. It doesn't really matter whether we pay for one or two invoices, but I believe they're keeping separate invoices for their account processing purpose only. The difference would be like;   Old process: Release AOS fee invoice and DS-261 Release IV fee invoice after DS-261 is reviewed   New process: Release DS-261 Release AOS and IV fee invoices after DS-261 is reviewed   It'll be so much faster for those that follow the new process and seems unfair for those including myself that AOS documents were reviewed independently even thought IV documents had been already received by that time. Unless they justify that difference by increased fee. You might as well call and challenge a supervisor saying "Mine should've been done by now in the new process. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - September 2014	I recently heard about mailing AOS documents and IV supporting documents in ONE package. But I haved Fedexd my IV packet day before yesterday and it will reach NVC on 10th September 10.30 am (estimated time). Our AOS scan date is 19th august. Would this affect our case too because its written on their website " After you collect your Affidavit of Support form(s) and financial evidence in Step 4, and supporting documents in Step 5, you must submit all of the documents in ONE package to the NVC. Your case may be significantly delayed if you fail to submit all of your documents in one package." I am worried now, I hope they don't delay our case.      I haven't been to the website but I thought all of this was starting Sept 12 Th.   Just my opinion but I would think at the beginning they would allow for mistakes or errors but they are so special God only knows.  Why not give them a call and ask? Can't wait until we finally get out interview dates. Won't that be something to celebrate.      That's right you just triggered my memory, I have so much on my mind it threw me for a loop for some reason.  I have to know to do my special prayers a few hours before the interview.   Ty doll.   Totally agree. In fact, that what they did for me... auto-assigned me as agent and added a note on CEAC that I could contact them and change agent if I wished. That is currently their standard procedure for my particular visa category. I don't see why it couldn't be applied to all categories.     I'm always prepared... you should've known that by now. I even have original duplicates of all submitted originals. My motto is... never send anything in the mail that couldn't be replaced. On the other hand, I doubt the embassy would go on with the interview if the case file doesn't arrive in time from NVC. There is still time yet, so I'm not concerned.     Your nose and the rest of you (and your kids... and your husband) are most welcome my dear lady. I'm praying that September would end on a very high note for all my VJ classmates.      Yes I do know better because I'm the same way.  Trying to get my husband to get original duplicates but he has such little time to travel right now.  Actually he doesn't have much time to sleep. At least we get some delayed emails during the weekends.   Their delays are now encroaching on their post-CC processing. Several applicants with CC were not assigned interview dates during the last scheduling round. Even sending cases to Consulates  is impacted. I was assigned an interview on August 29th and still my case is stuck at the dispatch room.      Do you have the interview date yet?  Hoping you have second copy or originals to take to your interview but then you an expert at it.   Insha'Allah soon. I'm glad for those coming after and it makes A LOT more sense, but sheesh! I wish we could have submitted everything at once!   http://travel.state...._documents.html     Isn't it terrible Molly we were screwed each and every step of the way.  Just isn't fair, I'm sorry just isn't, we deserve a break now more than anyone else.       Yes, it makes sense to send AOS and IV documents together.     However, you won't be able to send the AOS package while waiting for the IV fee invoice so you'll probably end up waiting longer if you get a checklist for the AOS package.     In other words, you'll wait for up to 60 calender days for the IV fee invoice; then, send your AOS and IV documents and wait for another 60 calender days.  If you're lucky, you get a CC in 120 days (4 months) from getting your case number.      If you get a checklist, you'll wait for another 60 calender days (total of 180 days or 6 months).  If you get a second checklist, you'll end up waiting for 8 months at the NVC stage.  Getting stuck at NVC for 8 months would be a crime!     Edit: I see a sentence: "Please allow 15 days for the NVC to process your DS-261 before continuing to the next step."  http://travel.state....e_an_agent.html  Maybe you'll receive the IV fee invoice in 15 days from filling out the DS-261?  If so, it'll definitely save a lot of time!  I had to wait for 40 days for the IV fee invoice.        OMG ok in that case I take it back. I will have to start collecting now all docs needed for both packages while waiting for the case number and IIN.  Though what I am just missing now is the police clearance, it better to start applying for it and have the docs ready for submission.  Will call later to check case number and IIN. Hope it's available already.  Let's hope these changes will affect the wait time for everyone. Lol we talk til 4-5 am..we talk for at least 8-9 hours a day.. when and where do we send that??      Nope you don't "have" to send anything if you don't want.  It's what I have seen but I for one haven't been able to get any records for cell phone calls texts etc.   Just telling you what I have read about proof of bona fide marriage.   Well you would've sent that with your initial petition package to USCIS as proof of bona-fide marriage. You dont have to send phone records, its just more proof.   Your husband can take call records and any additional proof to the interview as well to further prove the legitimacy of your marriage      Not all Embassies accept taking this to the interview as in Egypt does not accept it but can be sent to the Embassy before the interview. Please clarify.  Thanks.     Sorry about that, yes we used to send the AOS when the bill came due and paid it then sent them off and waited for the IV to come due and pay it.       The rule they changed is I think after Sept 12-2014 both fees will be payable and you get to send both the AOS and IV in together.      Before you sent them in seperately         Now or after Sept 12 Th you send them in together.
