IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	how to answer this question in interview.. who is sponsoring you?? plz      Not sure what to tell you,  is your wife your Sponsor?  Do you have a co-sponsor?  If so then your wife and the co-sponsor would be the answer.  Someone MoBar anyone correct me if I'm wrong.  I think we need a little more information, at least I do.   Got a nice letter in the mail today.. (unexpected). My wife and I barely check our mail... but there was a letter from the embassy to say our interview was on September 5th 2014 now!      It's because God sees your good deeds and rewards you for them. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Hi All - I'm excited I got notification to pay the IV fee yesterday. My DS-261 was submitted on 1 July (but then I stupidly clicked on the link again and it resent it on the 7 July). Exactly 30 business days! I was really surprised because I received the 60 days email for my AOS packet that was scanned on 9 July so I had assumed that I was in for a really long wait before I would be able to pay the IV fee. I've moved to the States with my children (so they can start school with their peers at the end of the month) and I am finding it hard being a 'single' parent to three kids. Anyone else in the same boat?        Congratulations on getting your IV fees ready to pay   and if nothing else you'll undestand your wife now.   I hope the rest of this journey proves an easy one for you. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	DOES SOMEONE KNOWS WHERE CAN I APPLY FOR AN ILLEGAL VISA I COULD USE THE BENEFITS! hating this process more and more everyday. my marriage situation sucks right now we don't even talk and we fought and haven't talk for 2 days now ! theres no trust no interest coming from him he doesn't even shows he care if he loses me!        our package was received by the NVC on jjuly 22 now we got a letter saying reviewing processing times are taking longer thant 30 days that means 60 !! due to the high flow of visas someone kill me         Oh I'm so very sorry, communications is the key and why is your husband so upset?  Doesn't he know this is out of your hands and your doing your very best?  Maybe he's feeling insecure and you need to have a good talk with him even if it means flying out to see him.  Not sure what state your in but he's in Central America not that far really.  I hope and pray you can go if possible to visit him.  My prayers and thoughts are with you. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Lemme say that I finally decided to stop being a passive observer of this forum and create a VJ account because of you, Soloenta. You and some of the other members on here are so much fun that I just had to say something to you   Thank you all for making this very painful journey bearable.   My 60-day letter says documents were received on 25th June which is when the bulk of IV checklist response was mailed. However the Singapore Police certificate which took about 15days to complete was received on 18th July. Just keeping my fingers crossed that since they are still reviewing my earlier documents, they will include the Singapore report as well and not give it an additional 60days from 18th July.   Wish us all a happy ending to this immigration ordeal.        Thank you Natanna what a sweet and lovely thing to say I'm honored and welcome to the thread.  No worries we will be with you as long as you need us.  We will soon stop feeding the Immigration monster.     Know that I'll be praying that all the difficulties disappear.                                   Edited by Soloenta, 16 August 2014 - 06:26 PM. Is it enough for one year of taxes or can my husband be denied because of insufficient funds ???       Be patient someone will be along that can help you with this. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Just got off the phone with Supervisor Octavio.  He has pulled my file and reviewed my information and everything is in order and    CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!    Last document scanned 20th June (yes June!) and it was reviewed and filed without the reviewer sending either a checklist or completing the case.     But, now thankfully Octavio has completed our case and we are now waiting for our interview.   Thank you everyone for your support, and for listening to me complain for the past few months.  Love you all!!!                   GET OUT OF HERE, OMG CONGRATULATIONS about fing time so happy Octavio has a heart.  WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO so thrilled for you my dear so very happy!!!                       Edited by Soloenta, 26 August 2014 - 05:43 PM. So I'm almost home from our big trip - one final jaunt through the US to pick up Hubby's bass from Portland (it's valuable so we left it at his Mom's in Portland for the summer. We visited my family in Edmonton for a couple of days, drove down to Calgary and spent the night, then today we drove south (and a bit west) to Spokane, WA. (The customs guy in Idaho was the grouchiest one in all the border crossings this trip, but none of them gave me any hassles (thank goodness!)) Tomorrow we go to Portland, then the next day back "home" to Vancouver.   Then I have to scramble to book my medical, find a hotel (we found a good deal for a flight already) in Montreal for my interview, and make sure we have all our papers in order. Hubby's not going to be able to afford (time-wise or financially) to travel out to the interview with me, so we'll have to work extra hard to have proof of domicile. (Given as he lives in Canada with me) Not that I'm complaining at all, though. I feel for all of my compatriots here at VJ who didn't sneak under the wire with us before they changed the rules and extended the deadlines again! If I could do anything to speed up your processes, believe me, I would!     Let's just never use that word again... even for what I thought it meant before I started this process! It is now officially out of my vocabulary!     Oh, honey, I'm so sorry you've had more delays... that sucks so much!     That's one that I had a lot of problems with too - the DS261 is just a ridiculous time waster... 3 questions that really don't make any difference at all, and they can delay it forever, it seems, if they want to!     You've gotten to be quite the comic around here, Austin! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Hey VJ Friends, I sent an email to the US Embassy in Egypt about police certificates & asked how long its taking them to schedule interview appointments and this is what they replied: "as for the police certificate it is valid for one year, even if it says it is only for 3 months. As for the interview, the NVC determines that not the American Embassy. Regards, Consular Staff " I thought the US Embassy in Egypt was the one that scheduled the interview dates not NVC?? Any thoughts? Does this mean that maybe Cairo is caught up and they're back to normal interview scheduling?      I'm thinking maybe the so called backlog at the Egyptian Embassy is getting better if not gone completely.   It isn't taking as long so they say and if not mistaken I remember reading that the Egyptian Embassy was doing the scheduling because of the backlog problem due to the revolution 1 & 2. By reviewing everything at once they are cutting down on how many reviews they need to do so they should also decrease the wait time for review. Imagine getting a checklist for AOS or IV which puts you another 60 days behind :|      It would make sense if they let you pay the AOS and IV fees together but they don't and it takes forever to pay them. I guess we don't need to rush on the AOS stuff with the new policy.   Does anyone know why they split up the fees like that? It makes no sense to me why we can't just pay and submit once we have our case numbers. Sadly I asked the rep how this was fair, because people send in packages in advance so they can eliminate getting the checklist. She was like we aren't sure yet, but for now we're hoping to clear out the false checklist generation and also have less confusion amongst people. I was like yea, you will eliminate the false checklists but what about the real ones that get generated afterwards...and how people will have more delay to their case. She was like well, yea maybe that might be a downfall to it but we haven't really figured that part out yet. The poor girl was so nice and calmly answering my questions, so I left it to that and I'm praying my package does gets reviewed timely and I can prevent a checklist delay inshAllah.      They don't have a brain cell in their head now do they.   I'll be praying this wont affect you God willing.  I really think they will quickly revert back to the false check lists, they can't work with that unless they fix it for very long. Why can't they just review when all of the paperwork is there.   So with this new process, I guess there is a benefit to sending the IV package before the IV fee. Get the 60 says started ASAP.   ARGHHH!!!!     Because as usual the doofus heads didn't think it out.  For this to work I would think you should be able to pay your fees all at once. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	I did call them back and the other rep said they are changing over to that new policy for reviewing multiple packages but she said I shouldn't be concerned since mine had come in earlier. She said the policy change was in effect for the current packages they are receiving. So it's kinda bad news for the people sending stuff in right now, then again you never know how and when NVC changes it's policies...but from what she said, going forward they will start your 60 day mark for the review from the date they get your last package in. So if you were to send one package a month late, your 60 day will start from the later date and you've pretty much wasted the first entire month.        Ok thank you so basically for the other people behind us are either screwed or will be better off.  If they do this I wonder if they will change the payment to include all fees that way they can send everything off at the same time.  Or do what is done now and send the IV with the AOS with same cover page.  If not they are really screwed poor things and means we missed more delays for once.  WOW this can be really horrible.   They just do things without thinking it out. She was super duper nice and said that they are changing over to this process. However, my documents were all sent in prior to that so it would not effect me. But she did say that now they are starting to review all of the packages together, instead of going through one by one. She said the new process initiated due to the confusion generated via checklist when people already had sent in the stuff. She said now they will be looking at reviewing all the packages together and beginning the 60 day mark at the last scanned package date.      I knew that B was talking out of her rear end, thank God you called back and got a good person.  Wouldn't it have been nice if they had done this before!  Why do we miss all the good stuff!    Okay.... We are waiting for the traveling applicant?s supporting civil documents to be submitted to the NVC. Your online Immigrant Visa Application will be reviewed upon receipt of your supporting documentation. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	So someone else asked about this: there should be two scan dates--one for AOS and one for IV package. Do they work on each package as they get it (well, 60 days after scan) or do they process them together?           God only knows what the heck goes on at NVC or any immigration office.  It's a mystery we still haven't cracked.                                         I'll drink to that!  And welcome to the thread.
