I saw a comment who stated that it takes approximately 2 days to review a document.      My IV documents should take them five seconds, I sent them the Embassy e-mails attached to each corresponding document where they say yes this is what we are asking for. I have heard people getting approved in 2nd 3rd try. And yes no offense to the OP but their criterias are BS and they don't follow their own rules. I saw soo many people getting rejected for pregnancy expedites. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Thank you my dears!   A job and housing are the two hardest things for us to prove, sadly, because hubby is here with me in Australia so all he can show right now is that he is LOOKING for work back in the States. Tough when it's 6 months til he leaves to go back to the USA (side note: reckon I'll be going with him? I know it's hard to tell with NVC but .. gosh I hope so!), it's very early but he has applied for jobs with both the Vermont and New Hampshire Superior and Supreme Courts.   Housing again is tough because his parents are putting us up, we'll crash at their place for a few nights then move into their other house, the front of which his mum runs her business from but the rest of it will be ours. So there obviously won't be a rental contract or anything since it's family. Would getting an affidavit from his parents to this effect help or should we just state that that is what is happening on our cover letter and say that we can obtain an affidavit if necessary/requested?   We have the visa from Australia that clearly outlines he can't stay more than 12 months. He only renewed his bar membership for Vermont in March, while he was in Australia, so you would think they would see that as a sign he intends to go back otherwise why pay the fees?   I hope this doesn't stuff us up      My husband and I will be living with my parents, my father wrote a letter that we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted, forever if we wanted and both parents signed it.  That is all that is needed, they accepted it no certification nothing.    Hope this helps. I got a response....another checklist. They want a bank statement brokerage account statement? ####### that wasn't even on the previous checklist and it only is for one person not my cosigner either. Absolute bullshit seems like someone at NVC had a bad day and sent a bullshit checklist. FYI the amount I put for my bank and brokeag account was INCREDIBLY SMALL and non significant: Absolute bullshit another 60 days will put me at 1 year at NVC. Are you ****ing kidding me?       OMG and I thought we had it bad, I'm so very sorry it is BS and I have no idea why this is going on. You need to contact your Congress or Senate person immediately and have them fix this.  Just unreal, save yourself time go to their website fill out the paperwork to allow them to look into your case.  Click immigration I think it's under help you seek not sure then copy, sign and send it right away tomorrow if you can. And if u haven't send ur packages yet then hold on to them. U might be asked to take to the embassy directly. It's just simple, I'm pregnant and I would love for my husband to be here with me while giving birth in December.      You don't know how lucky you are, so many have requested expedited for the very same thing and been rejected.  Your is actually the first one I have known to be given for pregnancey since it's not considered an emergency so I think someone made a mistake.  Pray they don't rectify it in the mean time.   Congratulations I'm very happy for you and pray all goes smoothy from here on. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	FINALLY got the invoice for my IV fees... WOOT WOOT!!!!       I got the email at about 7:45 pm, obviously they weren't working at that time so somebody must have unlocked them earlier today.   SO I rushed home and paid the fees, now this is what my summary screen looks like:   CHOICE OF ADDRESS & AGENT (DS-261)   COMPLETED   AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT (AOS) Role: Petitioner/Primary Sponsor Affidavit of Support Fee: PAID Affidavit of Support Documents and Financial Evidence: N/A   APPLICANT INFORMATION Status: PRINCIPAL APPLICANT IV Fee: IN PROCESS IV Application: NOT STARTED Civil Documents: N/A   So from what I understand, when the IV fee changes from "In Process" to "Paid" then I can complete my DS260, and when my Affidavit of support fee changes from "Paid" to "N/A" then it is a sign of a possible case complete.   From those who are farther along, are there any other signs I should be on the lookout for on this page?   SOOOO excited for things FINALLY to be moving again!!!!          WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO Finally progress, CONGRATULATIONS!  Wooooo Hoooooooooooooo                                                         Edited by Soloenta, 20 August 2014 - 04:57 AM. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Hey, sorry to bother you. How do you find out the scan date? By calling? Does NVC understand this terminology? (Sorry if this seems silly, but ...how do you ask?). I believe I understand the NVC process up to the part where I send the AOS and IV packages, but then it's a little bit of a mystery. Do you call every week (or however often) and ask if the packages have been scanned/reviewed/accepted or do you find out some other way? Thank you!      You need to call and ask, please check when my packages were scanned and they should know the terminology unless they're new.   I call only when I need to I find that calling all the time must just annoy them and I'm not risking them losing my paper work because of it.  Not only that but calling ALL the time just ties up the phone lines for people like you and I that need to ask questions and not just call to annoy and bother them, it's just abusive .   But call when ever you need to call, that is what they are there for.   When you get the scanned date call when it hit's 30 days then 45 then in my opinion once a week is good enough but it's up to you.    Good luck to you hope all goes smoothly for you from now on. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	I have a question for you guys that I think I know the answer to...   I have my husband's birth certificate and our marriage certificate from the Civil Registry with official translations from a government agency in Chile that we sent with our I-130, which according to the embassy is fine for the purposes of the IV package. We also included with our I-130 a photocopy of a certified copy of the original marriage certificate with our signatures and our witnesses signatures. It's a totally legit copy. The problem is, we don't have that one translated. I am in this process of getting a quote and time frame for having it translated, but I'm wondering if I should have it done or just include the certified copy in spanish?   I know the answer is to have it all translated and include all of it, but I don't know why I didn't think of this before! I think I was just thinking we have all of the things we need from the I-130. Plus it's sort of extra info. I'm sure I have plenty of time before I send my IV package (calendar day 32 since DS-261 submitted) so I can just get it done, but it drives me crazy that something that's OK for USCIS isn't OK for NVC.       Yup girl, have everything translated and send it all in.   It's what I did along with the Embassy e-mail stating it was the correct document. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Just got done catching up on 11 pages with a 2-yr-old on my lap (not an easy feat at all!).  Too cute, she giggles and points to all of the emoticons as I scroll through the pages.    Nothing has changed with my AOS fee today.  Can't face calling, will wait until later in the week if still no change.  It's funny that I am getting more calm about it now. It's like the grieving process, I think I have come to "Acceptance".    I have gone back to may old job after a 6-month secondment and my workload is crazy right now, so unfortunately I can't check VisaJourney during the day, so I will only be able to catch up in the evenings.  But, I promise I will be cheering you all on and will hop on as soon as I have some good news to share!     I have only asked for a supervisor once and they weren't available. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	My husband needed a certificate of good conduct from Malaysia and we requested it online on July 16th (my husband is egyptian & lived in malaysia 2yrs & is now in egypt) A few days (5-7days) after we submitted everything.... The application status changed to "Certificate is ready for collection" so we assumed it was ready but when my husband went to the Malaysia embassy in Cairo and even had 20Malaysian ringitt, they told him its not ready and to check status online and when it changes to say "ready to pay" then he needs to go back to malaysia embassy in cairo pay the fee and they will give it to him that same day once he pats the fees...and we're still waiting for that before we send AOS & IV packages ??      OMG I hope they hurry up so you can send the packages for Pete's sake!  What is taking them so long.
