IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Husband got the 60 days email and Is upset with me for making him take the legal path. He was all for fiancé visa and not declaring marriage since all his friends did that. It's been 18 months since I saw him. I wish now I had listened to him. His friends applied in July and his wife has been there since March. It's a punishment for wanting to do things right. Considering the countries and religions of our spouses (my wife is a Muslim and I am not) we're probably going to get AP too. I don't know what to do. I feel like death is the only way out This country is so cruel.       My biggest fear is AP but I must be strong that God will find away since he is the one who put us together.  My husband is Muslim also but your wife will most likely not be put in AP because she is a woman. With me it's almost for sure, and I would have loved to go to bed and just never wake up sometimes with some of the things I have heard but the only person I would hurt besides my parents is my husband and I would never hurt them.   So I trudge on praying that ALL be well and God will help us.   Have faith if you lose it get it back pray it will help and when it doesn't we are here for you my friend.  I'm Catholic and as I said my husband Muslim to faiths that in the USA are easy targets for insults.  But we will fight on loving each other no matter what others might think.   So hold on tight for your wife.             Think of the reunion...................... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Spoke to Anna, who was the first operator I have ever heard that sounds like she has any compassion or a soul. She was very lovely, but still said unfortunately they have had to extend their review times. She insisted that they do review all documents received in order, which I know is untrue and I pointed out other case completes with later scan dates, but she said it shouldn't be too much longer for me and everyone received the email and there isn't anything wrong with my case.  She also said it is 60 calendar days, not business days (which I think most people already know) and so my docs should be reviewed in the next couple of weeks.   We have hit a snag at every step.  If I hadn't gotten a checklist, I would have had a case complete in June, now I will be lucky to get a September interview. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	It's my second anniversary too in January and I was thinking since this process took so long to complete, why not enter US after two years of marriage to qualify for the 10-year green card. I am assuming we might get a November interview the way things are moving, that is if there's no checklist. Since US embassy consider it valid for 1year I wonder why they still indicate 3months on the certificate. Since Bootylicious has already confirmed from Lagos embassy so fingers crossed till my package is review.      Because one has nothing to do with the other, the US Embassy does what they want and the Nigerian government does what it wants.  Thus why things work so well with all governments.      Sad thing is you can't find it anywhere on the Embassy site not matter what country so far you look into. I am a may 2013 i-130 filer and still stuck at nvc stage, totally on the same page with you guys. But really I have started to realize that all the mumbling, tension and depression is just not worth wasting my time. Please you guys start living in the moment, accept it and see living at distance from your loved ones as an opportunity to learn something new or do something fun. You control your happiness atleast don't let nvc snatch that from you Just stay as busy and occupied with people around you. Cherish them because once you move to U.S, memories will be all you have of those guys and you want them to be really really good right? The police certificate is valid for 3months and I got it in May, it will expire next week. NVC should be considerate and have us bring the new one to the interview.      Hummm is the Police Certificate valid for only 3 months in Nigeria?  Same for Egypt but the US Embassy told me via e-mail that they consider it valid for one year.  You might want to e-mail the Embassy in Nigeria they will answer you in two to three days and I bet it's valid for a year.  Good luck.   EOC4ever, I sent a message to lagosiv@state.gov asking when Nigerian police certificate expires, and the reply from Lagos embassy was 1 year Thank you for your inquiry. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Dude, I have an idea for you.    Why don't you apply for an expedite for a medical reason?     Before you send an email to NVC applying for an expedite, you want to see a counselor or psychologist to get a letter stating how mentally unstable you are now and you need your wife's support ASAP.  Then, you can scan the letter and attach it with your email to apply for an expedite.     I hope it works.   Even if it doesn't work, you'll get to talk to a mental health professional so you'll feel better (I hope!).  Fingers crossed!        Great idea I know of a couple of people who received and expedite due to depression! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	For anybody out there who needs to get a Singapore Police Certificate I can tell you I have had a really good experience. I was able to apply without the NVC Checklist just the Barcode Cover Sheet. They emailed me every step of the way. They said it would take a minimum of 15 days plus a week in the mail but it only took 10 days and it is already in the mail. This is the only highlight in a horrendous week. I am in so much pain with the arm. I graduate from University next Tuesday. Yes, at 52 I am a mature student! Will have my arm in a sling and my husband won't be here. Still, children, my mum and sister will be so we will have a nice day. I hope everybody has some good news next week. I am going to enjoy a quiet weekend with my children at home watching movies and eating ice cream. Could you please elaborate a little bit more like what IRS letter you sent for your father? Is it the IRS verification of non filing letter? And did you mark '0', 'N/A' or 'Not required to file' for part 6 of the I 864 form for you father?   I have sent my I-864 with IRS verification of non filing letter for 3 years, signed explanation letter from my wife that she is not employed and marked 'N/A' for Part 6 Sponsor's income and employment. Extremely nervous right now......        Your very welcome, I had help from a beautiful friend that without her I would be totally lost.  Yes we just went to the IRS and asked for a letter stating he did not file for the years in question since he is retired.  I do believe they called it IRS Verification of non filing letter.  I put 0.00 but 0 works also.    We did the same thing you did so you should be fine, no worries.  I know how you feel, it's part of the process which non of us can avoid.   But you should be just fine. I think all of us wish there was a way to make the NVC stage go faster whether we got through the first stage faster or not. I spoke to a really nice guy this morning at NVC which was pleasant. I don't see any point in anything anymore.    Also I only have a few days of vacation time saved up, and it takes 3 days to get there and 2 to get back. I really do want to die, I don't think I can take 5-6 more months of this. We are still so far (waiting for DS-261 to complete, not able to pay IV or do DS-260 yet). I am not sure that I can go on.       My friend is your family not worth waiting for?  You know they are and would be lost without you so just take a deep breath and know in the end you will be together for ever and be annoying each other until your both toothless.  So these are the memories that will make your love stronger not weaker.  I two will be celebrating my 3 ed wedding anniversary Oct 16 Th without the love of my life.  But I wont give up no matter how long it takes because I wont let them win.  I refuse to allow them to tear us apart.  They lose we win now be strong we can do this!  But in a loving way. It's been a long Journey but I'm glad it's coming to a close.  I had received a letter just 2 weeks ago saying to expect delays (60 day letter), so I'm pleasantly surprised to get this interview letter.  The letter is dated Aug 15 and the interview date is Sept 23rd.   Interestingly, my AOS had changed from "PAID" to "N/A" on their website 2 days ago so I knew something was up.  Like others have suggested, this may be a sign that the case is complete.   Hope others get some good news soon.         Congratulations and what did I tell you guys, I rest my case. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	You don't want to touch the DS-261 unless you want to set a new world record of the longest waiting time to pay the IV fee.     I suggest that you wait for 15 more days since it's been almost 30 days since you filled out the DS-261.     If you don't receive the IV fee invoice email by the end of this month, I suggest that you call them up to remind them that you've waited for 30 business days (45 days) for the IV fee invoice.        I like you Austin, your a very kind and amazing soul and I'm grateful your with us in these difficult times. Even if you previously filled out a DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Form, you now must complete the DS-260 in order to be eligible for a visa interview."    however in the ds-260 shows as complete.. is this a false checklist?       I bet it's nothing but call after 4 pm Eastern time and ask them what this means.  I'm sure it's false. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Ok here it goes, I got an email to fill DS-261 thrice and I called NVC to know whats going on??? The rep I talked to was very very rude since the starting. He told me, he can't see my form in their system, AND I NEED TO RESUBMIT IT and I was almost into tears. Its been 30 days already.!! If I resubmit now, It would reset the clock. I just feel so low. Couple of days back a rep told me, I don't need to resubmit it because it shows completed on website and also I have the confirmation number with me. So I called NVC again, hoping for a nicer NVC rep. She told me, don't resubmit it. You need to wait couple of weeks more. It is not showing into our system because it hasn't been reviewed yet. I don't want to share all this with my hubby because he already thinks I am agonizing over this whole process. These reps are giving contradicting statements. I don't know whom to believe. If after 30 business days or whatever 60 days, it doesn't show up into their system, Can I call for a supervisor review? I don't want to resubmit it after waiting for 60 days and waiting again for another 60 days.I don't know what to do...!! I am so fed up now             Hope you remember the name if not put date and time it might help since they keep records of the calls who calls how often etc.  Remember to put your Case number and please for all of us complain here, NVCINQUIRY@state.gov   Attn : P I Dept. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	so my lawyer said she call them and told them that she send in everything and explain to them about the letter and they said that they will make a note about that? now im wondering how long it will take them now to fix that into there system , like should i expect another 60 days? or will they fix it asap idk guys , i do believe that everything happen for a reason , but i cant even focus on my work or my studies ,           I think they say 60 days to cover their A$$es with the extra benefit that when they finish in 35 to 37 days or less we all dance the happy dance and feel blessed and grateful.  So I don't think it will take that long at all.   Wish your husband would have asked  "what does that mean please"  he should really call back and see what exactly they are going to do and how long it will take.    I'll be praying on my end.                                                                                 Edited by Soloenta, 15 August 2014 - 07:34 PM. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	If she didn't make income enough to file then she puts "not required to file".  She doesn't write 0 or N/A.   She then includes a letter stating why she was not required to file and the evidence to support that (print out of the page saying if you make under XX amount you don't have to file)   I don't think the IRS verification letter of the fact that she didn't file is needed.        I read they request it but we sent a letter from the IRS for my father who is our sponsor but not for my mother who is co-sponsor or me and our AOS was approved.
