IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Another thing is according to USPS tracking, our documents were delivered 11:35 a.m. Thursday, but Kendall said they received the documents on Friday. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	So I am finally done reading all 117 pages of this thread, phew! I want to share where I am at with NVC. We had a lawyer and both fees were invoiced August 1, paid August 2. Fees showed as paid on August 5 and August 6 we sent AOS and IV package and submitted DS-260. Documents were delivered August 7 and I can't believe myself that the next step is case complete (if hopefully no checklist). I was stuck at USCIS for a year and 4 months between USCIS and NVC. Ever since NVC received our case on July 1, in the 1.5 months I have had more activity on my case than the entire time at USCIS. From the posts I gather it will take less than 60 days now for case complete. I am not bothered waiting that time, I have already waited so much.        Holy Cow congratulations on reading all the pages, Saylin needs to give out stars for that hehehehe.       I'll be saying a prayer that you have no more delays and that your journey with this part of your lives lead to a smooth ending. You should call NVC on Monday. Congratulations my dearest friend.... Now the waiting time goes to IV package, one more month to go!!!!!!      WOW I'm in shock hope nothings wrong with our AOS I've seen that people have to take stuff to the Embassy and the Cairo one is horrible they don't accept anything for the most part.      Thank you so much my friend I'll call on Monday for sure.         Hahahaha I sent copies of all the documents to the Embassy in Cairo to have them check if it's what they wanted they said yes so I sent a copy of the e-mail with each document hahahaa should take them five seconds to ok it if they are on the up and up. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	For the AOS you only need joint sponsor and household member proof of citizenship or LPR status.  Petitioner's isn't required.    For IR5 - visa for a parent of a USC - the petitioner's original (or certified copy) birth certificate and all marriage certificates are required for the IV package.        Thank you, they made a mistake then they asked for me to send it for all when I called.  But then they make mistakes all the time. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Also probably off topic for this thread, but this wait and all the disappointment have really really gotten me down (as most of you understand all too well) With the receipt of the 60 day email I have been forced to cancel our US wedding celebration (invites were already out) And although you guys are awesome and this site is super helpful; I have been super obsessed! And checking VJ every 10 minutes at work doesn't make the NVC move any faster haha.   So I talked to my job and they are going to let me take a mixture of leave/ work remotely from Peru!!! I am going in September and staying until hopefully after our interview! I am so so happy, and the wait seems so much more bearable now, because at least I will be with my husband. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	so i emailedc NVC and requested and expedite for medical reasons. the expedite was dated 7/9/2014. on the 17th i received an email asking for my spouses phone number, which i provided on the same day. ever since that email i have been actively calling NVC and asking about the status of the case and i keep getting the same answer. "  WE ARE WAITING FOR THE CONSULATE TO RESPOND" i spent most of this week looking at plane ticket to go see my wife then yesterday i emailed the consulate myself and basically asked " what in the name of God is going on" ....(this is funny)    45 min latter i got an email back telling me that they have approved my expedite on the 17th and that they have received several email from the NVC regarding this expedite request and they have been emailing them with the approval. as you can imagine this made me very pissed. so i called the NVC and asked tot talk to a supervisor.... "nice lady" she said that they haven't received anything from the consulate. so i told her my little story and how i got a response in 45 min.  she told me to forward the email to the NVC expedite email. so i did..........now 2 days latter, i called and they still have no news for me.   what should i do??        I say contact the Embassy tell them your getting no where with NVC see what they can do.  NVC are a bunch of idiots.   So sorry your going through this.   Praying all is well with your wife. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	*** My apologies for posting country-specific info on here, but Chile doesn´t have its own forum and it´s NVC-related ***   I know there are a few other Chilenos on here, so a quick heads up regarding the IV documents:   I´d heard in the past about NVC document reviewers rejecting the birth and marriage certificates from Registro Civil because they´re not super fancy, so when my husband went to get his certificates he specifically asked the RC worker if she could add an extra stamp or something to make the typical paper they give out look more official. The lady said she´d heard of problems in the past with the unofficial-looking official documents, but that they had worked everything out.   Welp, guess who just got a checklist because "the document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the appropriate government authority."   I sent an email to NVCinquiry copying the Santiago embassy, and will call NVC tonight and the embassy tomorrow when they open. I´ll let you know what happens, but OJO con eso. Any suggestions are welcome!       This is just a song don't let your BP go up please. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	O-M-G!!!  I actually fell off my seat.  Called the NVC and got the dreaded JOY, and let me tell you, she was LOVELY!!!  I'm not joking, she is by far the most helpful person I've spoken to so far.     I explained that everything has been accepted apart from 1 minor error on the AOS which I resubmitted and was received on July 9th.  I asked if given the current delay's to processing times and the backlogs if it would be possible to take the amended form straight into the Consulate interview, thus helping them with processing times and getting my case back on track.  She explained that sometimes for something minor, they do what's known as Pre-Approval where they just send everything on once the interview is scheduled without necessarily reviewing the checklisted document, but it's not something which can be instigated, it's up to the reviewing officer if they want to do that.     She was extremely pleasant, friendly voice tones and told me to have a great day at the end of the call.  Is there by any chance two Joy's working there?  Maybe because I was her first call of the day (it was 7am and I wasn on hold for all of 15 seconds and got through on the first attempt) she hadn't been put into her usual grumpy mood yet.  Or maybe all those complaints about her have paid off and she's finally realizing that friendly service equals friendly customers.        Could be but I think she is afraid of losing her job.  If you complain they will change if you don't they will only get worse.  She has made grown women cry so wouldn't turn my back on her.   But happy she was pleasant to you. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - August 2014	Update guys on my unbelievably horrible morning.  I have just spent the past 4 hours on this.   1 hour of that was spent in floods of tears to my husband on Skye.  I look a mess!!   Spoke to NVC about the IV checklist.  They would not put me through to a Supervisor although Kendall, the girl I spoke to was very helpful.  Will report as follows:   Birth Certificate - Hubby requested a Supervisor Review of this yesterday and they won't do anything until they look at it.  I am adopted so only have an Adoption Decree. This was perfectly acceptable 14 years ago when I got my first Green Card but apparently not anymore.  We also sent an original letter from the General Register Office in England explaining why I don't have a Birth Certificate but I suspect they have rejected it because it is not a 'Certified Statement'.  Am trying to get hold of England and get this Statement.   Australia Police Clearance for Queensland - I have sent them a National Certificate that covers all 7 States but is that good enough for NVC - you bet your bottom dollar it is NOT!  They want one for Queensland where I lived for 1 year 15 years ago.  Spoke to Queensland Police - there were SO nice.  They are just fed up with NVC for keep requesting people do this.  They cannot do a fingerprint Certificate as I don't live in QLD but can do a Criminal Check Certificate so I am going to get that.  NVC don't want to see this but are expecting me to have it at the interview.  They think that QLD will send it direct to Consulate but they don't, they send it to me.  I might then email Consulate and see if they want me to send it on.   Singapore Police Certificate - tried to explain to NVC that they don't send this to NVC anymore and the paperwork that NVC is totally out of date.  That fell on deaf ears.  So, I have applied for this, will wait for it to get to my house and will then send on to NVC.   By the time I wait for all my 60 days reviews I might be lucky to be there by Christmas but probably January.   I am just stunned with it all.   Have a great day everybody.  Love XXX        This will get cleared up you'll see then you'll get your CC and be home and forget all about this or at least be a distant memory.  My heart goes out to you, wont stop praying for you until your home. I called on Monday and may try again on Friday just in case I have a case complete but my AOS hasn't changed.  Saw today someone had a CC without it changing, so you never know! I still check the ceac site like a maniac just in case.      I'm keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed and praying while at it that you get your CC by Friday or no later than next week.  Remember it get's worse the closer you are to the end, like those those last few pounds. I feel like mine has somehow slipped through the cracks as I see they are working on 25th June.   I just feel like I get screwed at every step of the way, why do I always get in the slow line?   Is it true it's darkest right before the dawn? I feel like I have tried to stay positive as much as possible and I have exercised patience, but now I am just getting Tensions are high at home and I feel like my hubby will say one day soon "enough is enough, we are staying here in Australia".
