That's what I did as well. Wrote case # in pencil on every non-original document and stuck a small post-it on every original document. I also stacked everything and affixed in a couple of those paper vice grips. My way of telling whoever handles my documents: " Don't you dare misplace anything!  "

Not me I purchased one of those stamps you can change the numbers and ink and went to town.  They wont lose my documents it is black and it's dark so they have to see if even if it's lost. Put it on everything I could think of and sent. :D    Yes I did.

Hello guys. I'm new to this thread. We are about to send our AOS this week. I just want to make sure Im doing things right. Please help! Thanks :)

1. Are the IRS tax transcripts that my husband downloaded from the IRS website accepted by NVC? Or do we need to order?

2. Is it advisable to also put our case number on i-1864ez?

We printed sticker labels containing case# and put them on the upper right corner of each page of supporting docs.

Thank you so much for all your help! :)

I agree. I think that this "60 day letter" is more of a CYA, just in case they do go past the 30 business day mark. It gives them a few more weeks. I totally believe that CC's will come between the "30 business day" date and the "60 day total" date.

Another thing? I think that NVC has some advantage in being the "second stage" of this process. USCIS can not see the wave of applications coming. The reason that I think NVC has some advantage is that I am sure (don't quote me here) that they get trending reports coming from USCIS so they can adjust to some degree.

GUESSING HERE: Based on my fair amount of experience working with the Federal Government here in DC, I do believe that NVC is working overtime. Why? I am sure that DoS/NVC has experienced this before. I wouldn't doubt that the contractor has a "performance clause" in their contract. That the contractor working for NVC provides XX "base" staff to process XX amounts of applications per month. Any additional staff required to process additional applications beyond the base rate, probably results in additional income for the contractor (more bodies). So the contractor has motivation to process more applications and probably has some staff "in the wings" (or other manner to meet the increased workload) to accommodate DoS when this happens. Because USCIS can provide trend reports in regards to quantity of incoming applications, DoS/NVC can inform the contractor ahead of time that they will need to gear up because an increased wave of applications is coming.

OR NOT?

This is total conjecture and guessing on my part, so please do not quote me. But I do know that DoS is more organized, to some degree, than some of the other Dept's here in DC. Definitely better than DHS (look at the Overland Park fiasco).

Just my two cents and a wild stab in the dark on a Sunday morning....maybe I am just being hopeful and am totally wrong! (I hope not!!!)

Makes perfect sense to me and you put it beautifully no matter what.  Personally I like going from USCIS to NVC because I feel I'm moving forward instead of the dead stand still we had for months on end.  I just hope and pray your conjecture is correct and they are working over time.  Would make and makes perfect sense as I said but when does any government make sense!  That is the part I fear.   And that is my tenth of a cents worth. smiley-confused013.gif

a letter won't do anything. They already acknowledged the problem and sent a letter . they covered their butts. I just think they under estimated the wait time. They did the same thing at the USCIS last year. The NVC can't handle the flow of approved cases coming from the service centers. So they fixed one problem and now they are faced with another. Maybe they can hire more people when the year is over and the new budget kicks in. I don't believe ÑVC is run by fees collected like the USCIS.

I had nor have any hope it will help at all but I guess it's something to do. smiley-confused013.gif

Hi Guys, I have a facebook group, I think some guys are in that group, so the majority of people there got the 60 days wait email and we are so mad and worried about it... we really want to do something because it is horrible that NVC has a terrible work day by day, a friend in the gruop had the idea to write a letter and talk with news channels, in conclusion do something with this problem because we really need to be with our family...please if you want to support this idea or you have more ideas let me know, we need more and more people so NVC could listen to us... Thanks

Sure why don't you give us the link so we can go see what we can do or at least sign any letter that might be sent?  But then they take so long by the time we are gone from here the problem is fixed but it's worth a try. :D.

Q1) u put 1 for urself, 1 for the blank where it asks to total people, and the part where they if u r married u either put zero, or n/a or even leave it blank. DONT put one in that because that will make household of 3

Q2) dunno if it matters but ours was in caps I think

Q3) fr joint sponsor u only need a seperate I-864 form not the entire seperate package. Read the wiki where it tells u what to include with joint sponsor.

Correct me If I m wrong someone :)

Maybe they decided to not send the emails to those who were stuck in Uscis backlog;) wishful thinking lol! I didn't get it yet though. Did u get it soloenta?

I hope everyone has their heads up today, I am really down right now, really really down. Even the therapy does not hold back my depression anymore. Last year I was so excited about finishing my Ph.D., and starting a life with my lovely wife and now, I have been in and out of jobs and this process is dragging on and on (over a year now). I know you all have stories too, so forgive me my moment, but I feel really beaten right now. I could do with a win from somewhere.

Don't despair my friend and yes we all feel this way and life does have a way of knocking us down at the worst times.  I'm so sorry your going through this but the prize is at the end of all this suffering.  It's a long road but your almost there so just smiley-whacky097.gif hang in there we are here for you to hold you up when you can't anymore.  So take a deep breath and know there is an end to this you just have to be strong for a little bit longer then all this will just be a distant memory that will fade away.  I'll be praying for you and your wife that this all will end soon and you will be well on your way to the life you have dreamed of.  Hey you found the hardest part, the woman you love so your really there the rest will come soon. :)  (F) (L)  (F)

We are fighting a lot these days because we both are so frustrated  i kept telling my husband that once we get our of if is Nvc will be a matter of couple months max and now look at Nvc. Every stage is getting slower and slower. I wish Nvc would prioritize the petetions from the first half of 2013 over latter half and 2014 petetions. This is just so so unfair really.

I agree it should be done that way and yes it can break you if you let it.  It's not easy but it's worth it. Samreen check your inbox ok (F)  (L)  (F)

Well, everyone, (reporting from Westminster, MA tonight on our road trip - going to spend the day in Boston tomorrow... man, when the time comes I'm going to ACE the civics exam for citizenship!) we got our CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!

I can't believe it! We hadn't heard a word since July 20 or 21 - no false checklists, no real checklists, nothing!

We did EP, so if indeed they've speeded up with that because more people are back to doing snailmail, that could be why we got so lucky...

But here's my theory. I think that somehow our I-129f got through (we filed it months after our I130, when USCIS was completely mired) and they felt like they had to hurry up... the operator I spoke to seemed a bit confused and unable to see the actual dates when things were accepted and/or approved, but she said that our file was just waiting for an interview to be scheduled at the embassy in Canada.

Since I'm on the road and have a certain amount of difficulty checking things online right now, do any of our Canadian friends know: if we get an interview scheduled, is there any protocol to contact them and see if there's any chance that we could reschedule to when we're actually in Montreal anyway? Because that would be sweet!

Either way, I'm so SO happy! What a great surprise!

Sorry to hear that the backup for everyone after us has gotten even worse... I just hope they're trying to "under-promise and over-deliver" and you'll all get case complete soon!

Wooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooooo so very happy for you CONGRATULATIONS!

My letter to President Obama on the issue (no hope of real change coming from this just venting my frustrations):

"Dear Mr. President,

My name is thedude6752000 and I have petitioned the government for my wife, who is currently an Indian national residing in that country, to get a visa to come live with me here. I just wanted to thank you, you majesty King Obama, for your DACA amnesty, put into place completely in defiance of the US Congress and Constitution. Although I doubt you care, in addition to the 7 months at the USCIS I had to endure without my wife, I am now coming to find out that the National Visa Center has extended the wait time for every piece of paper they process from 30 to 60 days as a result of the backlog created by your brazenly illegal amnesty polices. I really appreciate all the help you've given to people who have no legal right to be in this country at the expense of people patiently waiting in line to come here the right and legal way. I especially appreciate the fact that I will pass my first wedding anniversary next month alone and without my wife. That's hope and change I can really believe in, because unlike your empty promises to "fix the immigration system for people playing by the rules" I am sure this will come to pass.

In closing I would just like to say that I cannot wait to vote straight Republican in November (and I say this as a former OFA Deputy Field Organizer in Florida)and even to help the Republicans here in Virginia organize and get out the vote, in order to do my small part to further ruin the last years of your useless Presidency, just as you have ruined my life and shattered my marriage.

Sincerely, thedude6752000, spouse of a non-resident alien who was dumb enough to follow the law in your new lawless America"

You can add my name to that letter. :( smiley-angry021.gif angry011.gif

After this 60 days they will complete the case or whatttt???
Bec. The date the they said doesnt match AOS Packge date or IV package date
And the date they sent on email matchs whatttttttt

I'm sorry to say it means just that, they went from making us wait 30 business days to 60 days period!  There is no excuse and there is no rhyme or reason for what they do.  I'm sick of this and we are all impotent to change anything that will help us for now.

I haven't received the 60 days email yet.  So it's still 30 business days (45 days) for me!

I wonder if NVC got the memo from the embassies/consulates because some embassies/consulates are experiencing a system problem and can't issue visas.  I heard that some embassies had to cancel interviews.  They may be rescheduling and canceling interviews so they need more time, which means they want to receive fewer cases from NVC.  If so, NVC should be able to go back to the good old 30 business days wait once the system gets fixed?   :clock:

I agree, NVC should be first come first serve and once the DS261 has been filled out the submitted documents should be reviewed with priority over processing new cases.  I understand the original wait in line but going to the back of the line for each step is a bit much. boo

I really wonder what's going on in NVC with the backlog stories. I think case files should be sent directly to the consulate and then the embassies will contact the beneficiary with list of documents to come along with to the interview.

Or on the other hand, NVC should issue AOS and IV at the same time so that AOS and IV documents can be reviewed at same time, they should stop issuing checklist, they should close the case and ask the beneficiary to bring the missing documents to the interview. I think this will safe them from this backlog and their workload will be reduced. Anyway its just my opinion.

It will be a great torture to wait for 60days for each documents to be reviewed.

That is soooo true Samreen!! I mean, take for example a simple tourist visa. The entire burden of proof on the applicant in order for a tourist visa to be issued is that they will return to their home country and not remain illegally in the US. Having a spousal visa in process is the BIGGEST DISINCENTIVE EVER to overstay your tourist visa, because if you don't return to your home country for interview, etc then you would be actively choosing to stay illegally in the US forever instead of becoming a legal resident.

I'll be honest with you, I think they do it on purpose they want to make us give up and both go our own ways.  I have seen this happen so many times on VJ.  Couples divorce because this is just to much for them.   WELL IMMIGRATION DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH! :Psmileys-sticking-tongue-out-628956.gif

Hi guys! Received my NOA2 on May 20th, but didn't know this site existed until last month. As for most (all?) of you, this has been a really frustrating process, only aggravated by the fact that my husband and I are apart. Small rant: my husband has been married to an American citizen for 9 months and still cannot legally set foot in the US in any way shape or form. There is just something fundamentally wrong with that fact.

Anyway, good luck to all this month! To the newbies I wish sage advice and to the veterans I wish case completes!

MEGWINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN doll welcome so happy to see you here!  I vouch for Megwin lovely human being very helpful and kind.  Don't worry sweet heart we are here for you. :D  (F) (L)  (F)
