keep in mind that positions are rarely filled by unqualified "quota" filling applicant. you will see a lot of unqualified friend/associate/relative being hired.

so, if you apply nd get hired, it was becasue they thought that all of the applicants, you were hired because you were deemed "best fit" for the job/company. whatever that "best fit" may be. it can range from good (best prepared.. or most flexible) to bad9can be hired for cheap!) or whateve r the company is looking for.

good luck!

from what i understand, job applications that ask for racial/ethnic information do so only as an "informatinal" tool only. It will not be used to hire/not hire specific candidates. The information is not passed on to hiring mangers. At least that is the theory. :P

If that is truly the case, then the applicant should answer however he/she feels about such "information" being used. One example on how this information could be used is this: HR could say according to our applicant pool, we are doing a good job of advertising our position to all races/ethicities except X. Thus we need to YYYY (whatever solution they would come up with).

I wished they had a slot of :energetic: . :P

good luck in the job hunt!
