QUOTE (Richard and Aida @ Jul 16 2008, 12:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi Everyone I am learning a lot from this site.Thank you.I do have a few questions on the DS-230.On question 21a of page two pf four it says persons named in 14 and 19 who will accompony you to the U.S.14 is the spouse (me) .What should I put here because if possible I wil go to the Philippines to accompany her to the U.S.,but I dont know that now whether I will be able to or not.My other question is how far to go with the N/A and none in blamk spaces? Example of question 19 on 2 of 4 it says list names and places of birth of all children. Is it okay to just put none in one column?or fill in each and every blank with none or N/A? Thank you

put n/a
for the pesons will accompany you is the petitioner name =) goodluck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresdomicile?
QUOTE (BulgarianBride @ Jul 16 2008, 02:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi - What address did you use on your I-864? I thought that was the one with the strict residency requirement. So it's good news that you cleared the first hurdle of NVC, but the I-864 is re-evaluated again at the interview (well, OK, this is based on the consulate that I am going through, so that may not be true for you...). Maybe someone from the Philippines can weigh in on whether this seems to be a big concern with the consular officers there.

Here's what I know: I moved to Bulgaria during my visa application process and before I did, I posted to this board about what I should be concerned about, and the best information I got was that I needed a solid US residency, with my driver's license, bank account etc. all reflecting that address.

Maybe it won't be an issue at the interview, but to be safe it would be best to have evidence of your "permanent" address in the US. Where are you returning to in October? Are you having mail sent there - if so, maybe whoever is there can scan some envelopes and e-mail to you... Do you have a driver's license/voter registration/bank account/ etc with a US address? I made copies of all that kind of stuff. And on the DS-230, question 10 asks where your spouse intends to live after the visa is approved, so what did you use for that - could that be considered your residence?

Good luck to you!

/bb

hi there thanks for the respond. for my I-864 i put my US address.. i have california driver license and i already renew it last year. i have bank account yes and i have mail coming from nvc to my US address.. the choice of agent of my husband assigned to me and its on my US Address as well. since im not there. my mom always inform me if something coming from NVC ... thank you and god bless us all... take care

after ur case is approved. they will send it to NVC after 1 to 3 months they will send u a bill for Affidavit of support which is $70 and immigrant visa for $400. once both paid u can send the form 1-864 or 1-864A and ds230 to NVC wait atleast 1 month or so before the approval. goodluck

QUOTE (Steve Y Jessica @ Jul 17 2008, 07:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Well, this morning I did my usual routine. I woke up and got a cup of coffee. Then got the phone and called the NVC. But this time it said, "YOUR CASE WAS COMPLETE ON JULY 16" kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Now, my question is this:

Does anyone know when the send the file to the embassy? Do they wait until they schedule the interview, or will they send it now before they schedule the interview? And yes, I know there are some cases where for some reason they get stuck at the NVC.

When I asked this to the person at the NVC, she just kept saying that the file would be there before the interview. And that they would not be scheduling interviews until the second week of August for September.

I need it to be sent to the embassy because I was following both routes, K3 and CR1. And we are in the same boat for both paths now, waiting to hear when the interview is. In Buenos Aires, from reading the timelines of others that went through Buenos Aires, the interview is usually about 2 weeks after they notify you of the interview date. So I am still thinking that I have a chance at an interview the end of July. So I could just get the K3 interview changed the the CR1 interview. But I need the file for the CR1 sent down to Buenos Aires to be able to do that. But, if they wait to send the file to the embassy until after they schedule the interview, it will slow me down.

Thanks for any help!

hello there jessica, congratz.... best u luck in your up coming interview... im still waiting for my interview too... my case was approved july 14th im 2 days ahead of you... probably we will get ours first or second week of aug. if not then 2nd week of sept goodluck good.gif

I'm a K-3 filer, but also pursuing CR1. I called NVC this morning to get my NVC number details and my IIN so I can pay online. The lady put me on hold for 3 minutes to check and see if he online option is still available. She came back and said that they had too many issues with the online system and has discontinued it

It appears that if you are going to the CR1 route, you will be reverted to old fashion snail mail for payment. Just thought I'd share the info.

they always sayz that the online payment is not open to the public yet but yes u can make a payment online.. i just done it. goodluck... try to call again and ask for you IIN. if they ask why are u getting the IIN tell them its to update you case otherwise they dont want give it to you.goodluck.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMissing one paper to send in DS-230
QUOTE (Archy @ Jul 16 2008, 09:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi everyone,

I have a bit of a problem. We are missing the Certificado de Antecedentes Judiciales, it's in Peru and we received the paperwork to send in the DS-230 yesterday. I called the Visa Center and they said that we will need the original before the case can be completed. I'm not sure what to do.

Should I send everything we have now with a letter stating that we will have the original paperwork at the interview?

Should I wait the two weeks until the certificate arrives?

I don't know what to do. The certificate was supposed to come in with a friend but they have managed to lose it at the airport!

If I can get a scanned copy of the document I know i can get it signed by the Peruvian consulate here, should I go that route?

Sometimes it feels like Cesar is never going to be here...

Thanks for your help!

Eva

for the original documents i dont think its ok to send it by fax or scann.. u have to send them the original copy to NVC goodluck u almost done.. best wishes

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow soon can you pay the AOS fee?
QUOTE (Todd-Leah @ Jul 17 2008, 09:59 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The AVR says: "...This case was entered in the NVC computer system on _______. The case number assigned by the NVC is (Case #). Please allow 6-8 week from this date for the beneficiary to receive the documents"

The operator says: DS-3032 and fee bill have not been generated. It takes 6-8 weeks.

Got the IIN from the operator, she reminded me not to pay any of the fees until the bills are generated.

But, when I logged on to the IV Invoice Payment Center:

status for AOS fee is "not paid"
status for IV fee is "not invoiced"

Does that mean it is alright to pay the AOS fee now? or must wait until the AVR says "AOS fee bill has been generated"?

Leah

to make sure call nvc operator every single day to make sure that you can make a payment otherwise you will be charge two times... goodluck godbles.

QUOTE (rmncm @ Jul 17 2008, 02:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi guys and gals, now it is my time to stress...
Here is my situation:
I have been on workers comp for the past 2 years so according to my tax records I have Zero income. I am just starting litigation with workers comp on a settlement but it could take 6+ months to settle. If I go back 3 years on taxes I was off that year do to being a student and recovering from a different surgery. I am unable to return back to my prior kind of work due to ongoing medical issues related to my injury.

I had talked to my dad about being a sponsor for the I-864 and he said he would. So we requested his tax transcrips and here is were the problem lies. He is a medically retired disabled Vetren, is retired from the Airforce and draws SS. His monthly deposits are around $5000 a month for the rest of his life, more then enough for sponsorship, the problem lies in all but $16,000 is tax free. So on his tax transscripts he only claims $16,000. He owns a house but it has no equity and or just a little bit.

What are we going to have to provide to show his income for the I864? Bank records? Letters from the Vets Admin. and so forth? It's kind of a crappy situation to be in. My doc all along was telling me I would be able to return back to my prior work but after all this time I still have issues and the insurance compy finally said enough is enough. So i am stuck between this litagation and being unable to provide enough income proff. Any ideas?

Thanks.

good day!!! not a problem if ur not working at the moment. u can use ur add income as a joint sponsor but if it doesnt fit in the povertly line u can ask someone who will be the second joint sponsor goodluck to you!!! star_smile.gif

QUOTE (navneet singh @ Jul 17 2008, 06:25 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hi, this is neetu, rajee's wife. May be some of u know him. My husband is the regular member of this site . yesterday, 16july i had my interview. It was an easy going interview.

i reached there at 6:30 but they started the entry at 7:15.

first step : I was told to queue up where they took my finger printes around 7:20, then the interviewer told me to provide him with one pic which he matched with the photo of DS-230 form and then he returned me the photo . They did not ask for the photo as my husband rajee had already submitted my photos at NVC (U.S.A)and then i was told to wait.

second step: I was called for the first round of interview around 8:15 where the interviewer asked me the following questions - who is calling u to US?, what is ur husband doing? , what r u doing?, where is ur local police station report(which i didn't require to subimt as i have a newly issued passoprt). The interviewer was a joval preson, so he smiled and didn't ask me anymore questions and returned me the orgianls which we submitted at NVC and then again i was told to wait.

third step : I was called for the second and the last round of the interview around 9:30 and the interviewer told me to pledge and told me to sign DS-230 form . He asked me the following questions- when and where did u meet ur husband?, how many people attended the wedding?, how many relatives came from US?, have u evry visted aborad and when, was it an arrange or love marriage.

My husband already submitted all the proofs at NVC, so the interview was vey basic and genral and they didn't see my marrige pics or other proofs. They didn't ask for any photocopies also.

pls feel free to ask any questions.

navneet
