IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswhat visa categories for filing a petition for half brother
QUOTE (YuAndDan @ Oct 2 2008, 11:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Firstly Sister will need to be a US Citizen, and secondly, she needs to be BIOLOGICALLY related to brother.

NOTE: Family class F4 for siblings is taking something like 20 years for PI.

if anything to worry about co's might wonder how your going to support you and your spouse when you get to usa
you might want to have a job lined up before you get here. there biggest problem is they dont want you to collect welfare when you get here. you should of came back to usa before interview and got a job so you didnt have to worry, that is the only problem i see that will cause you problems.
good luck

im going back on oct 16th. i already have a ticket. i will let my husband bring my printed plane ticket and show to co's. thank you

ok guys here is my story....

I went back to the Philippines year 2005. I got married July of 2005 since then I didnt come back to US. I stayed with my husband for 2 years. Sept 2007 i came back to US and i decided to file a petition in california instead of doing DCF. then after 4 months i decided to come back in the philippines. (jan 22th 2008 until now.) but, before I went back to the Philippines. I called USCIS and asked them if its ok for me to stay in the philippines while my petition for my husband is still in process. NVC Officer told me its ok, besides the officer sayz ur USCIS u can go back to US anytime u want, as long u responded to the letter either USCIS or NVC if they need some documents from you or like paying immigrant visa and affidavit of support.so I ask my mom and my sister just in case i have a letter coming from USCIS and NVC inform me.

Since my petition is approved, i asked my sister if she could help us to be my joint sponsor since i dont have a job. so i was suprised they approved my petition.

please check my time line above for more details..

NOW is the time for my hubby's interview and im nervous.

they might ask for the prooft of my domicile, since I came back to US year 2007. I opened an account. so i have bank account which is still active but not much money hahahha rofl.gif like $100 in it. just to make it active. and yah i remember the bank sent me a security pin to use for my ATM and i have it with me.
i have a bank statement sent to my address too.

secondly, I asked my mom if she can transfer her name to my name in our home phone number.

and thirdly, I have a prepaid cellphone use by my little sister up to now and i printed out the cellphone call history and it is showing my name on the bill.

some of the bill i printed out from online banking and online payment for the prepaid cellphone bill, and the rest like the bank statement i asked my sister if she could print it out for me. so by tom she will email it.

Im so pressure thinking about if the co's if he/she ask my hubby for me not working for 3 years. huhuhhhu
since my sister is my co sponsor her income is above the poverty line i think thats why we got approved. she is working in the casino and making 5 grand monthly.

vj's members please my husband interview will be on the 29th this coming monday. please includes us in your prayers. helpsmilie.gif

and u guys are welcome to give me some advice in my situation right now.

thank you so much in advance

Hi! My husband called NVC a few days ago and was informed that I am scheduled for an interview on Nov. 21. Now, NVC sent me an email stating that I am scheduled for interview on Nov. 8!!

I was happy that it is an earlier schedule but Nov. 8 is a Saturday... Do they conduct interviews in Manila during Saturdays?

Now, I am confused. I don't know which one is the correct schedule. Haaaay...

But either way, I'm still happy! smile.gif

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited my wife got her visa approved in Montreal. She brought so much evidence and they didn't even look at it. They just ask her to tell them how we met and asked her if she is currently working, where and what. That's it! Then they say you are approved and she was so surprised that she asked them did you need to look at my evidence? They said no they trust her! It literally took her less than 5 minutes for the interview! Yipee!!!!

Anyways, she got her brown envelope for Port of Entry. We are leaving this Saturday to California. Do you know that when she hands in the envelope at port of entry, where it is suppose to go?

Also we would like to express our thanks to everyone on Visa Journey, we've learned so much and got our paper work done right because of you guys! Wish you all best of luck!!

congratz
