Hehe, you know what I will be doing on the 27th then. I'M SO EXCITED. :D

Reading this thread makes me want to get married again.

I know exactly how you feel. My friends all want me to get married again (to the same guy, of course.) I tell them to ask me again in twenty years.

Ahhhh geezus. I just looked at the price on db's website for that gown. It's $249 now!!! I paid $500 more for it.

:crying: nooooooo.

You should totally do it!!!! My step-grandmother is badgering my papaw for a wedding now. They never had one. We never even knew they were married until like 4 months after they were.

I think that everyone deserves to have a wedding at least once, maybe twice if it took you twice to find your prince charming. :luv:

Haha, true! Basically, what happened is I went to visit my now husband for 4 days before he got deployed, and then we ended up getting married.

And about your dress, it's a beautiful dress. And it sucks that the price went down but at least you have it and that's one pre wedding worry eliminated.

This was my dress, but because I'm so short, the bottom went all the way down. :s

My dress loool

Lemme find a picture of myself in it. o_o

We got the traditional package + 30 extra minutes on the grounds. We're looking into either the tux rental or that service where they take you to get your marriage license etc. Looking at ordering the cake from them as well, but we're not sure yet.

@ ScooterMac
I dont even have 260 people to invite. My family is tiny and alot of people on my dad's side are on bad terms with eachother or on bad terms with my dad, so yeah. And the two people we could invite from his side are going on vacation in December, so they probably wouldn't be able to afford it.
I'd prefer a smaller wedding anyway.

If you'd like I can find out where my husband rented his tux, it was only about $70-100. I don't remember exactly. And you can get it the same day that you rent. laughing.gif

I am getting married next Wednesday! I am so excited.

I hope that all my bad luck for this month has been used up by the Canada Post experience, and that everything else will be smooth sailing for POE and all the "marital plans", next week.

I just found out that an aunt and her family from NC are driving for the event, and that our photographer can make it for the court house ceremony. And my entire family is coming -- which was a huge surprise as it would be the middle of the school week and both my siblings are in school.

Our plan is to do the court house event, have champagne/appetizers at my future mum-in-law's house and dinner at the restaurant where my fiance and I had our first date.

Then my mum, grandma, aunt and future MIL are teaming up to throw us a wedding ceremony on Saturday... and apparently the guest list is now up to 60. My hunny and I are just planning to show up... I think it's just best to leave all the planning to them laughing.gif

I believe between the wedding event, ceremony and Thanksgiving at both our sides, I will be doing a lot of eating. I should start looking for my stretchy pants!

Wow, 60 people is alot.
I don't even think my wedding will top 20 laughing.gif

You never know...I planned for 10 people to show for my wedding, and then over 20 showed up...it was interesting to say the least. And if you are going to wear heels when you get married...and then after, if you plan on heading to the strip, I suggest bringing a pair of flats or something. As well...what wedding package did you get? biggrin.gif PS...I found your wedding date on the website. Can't wait to see the pictures ^o^ Ohhohoh. I'm not a stalker at all!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to deal with registry and out of country guests?
Is it pretty easy for them to just go to the store in the US and buy it and wrap it instead of taking it with them?

My wedding's going to be in Vegas and I'm assuming they'll probably fly right there. We want to register at Target so I'm hoping there's one close to the strip.

Have you picked a place in Vegas yet? If you're going to a chapel, I HIGHLY recommend this one, http://www.littlechapel.com/ kicking.gif Best one there. biggrin.gif

I will in the end probably end up signing the paperwork without them there.
My fiance's not happy that they want to be there for the signing of the marriage certificate even though we're just going to Vegas for it.
They don't really get that we're doing this so I can adjust status and try and work ASAP.

You think they'd be less traditional since their daughter isnt exactly in a traditional relationship.

I know exactly how you feel.
But you'll enjoy Vegas. biggrin.gif
I assume you're going to a chapel?
There are some really nice ones there.
Just don't let Elvis serenade you. He's scary. unsure.gif

Take care! <3

I had a classic Vegas wedding. laughing.gif We met online in late 2004, started dating in 2007 We got engaged in October 2008, married in Feb 25,09 and we'd be talking about everything and we originally wanted to file for a K-1, but since he was being deployed, and his schedule in the military is pretty unpredictable...anyway, I went down to visit him a few weeks before he was deployed, and we talked about it, seriously, in depth, about EVERYTHING, and the next day we applied for the wedding license and married 3 days later. I had 3 days to plan. But his entire family showed up! (His family is about 25 people...) And some of his friends, who are now my friends too. tongue.gif

And what was amazing about it, was my family and friends back home got to watch it on the internet. (The chapel did internet broadcasting.) biggrin.gif

But we're going to do a proper...party, in 2011 or so. smile.gif

I once had a teddy bear made from alpaca fur. My uncle bought it for me in Arizona, it cost $80. Unfortunately I lost it during a move.

Canada2010 Tax thread - For Canada and the U.S.
So my husband went and attempted to do his taxes today. I told him to file as married but seperated, and apparently the tax prep guy is like, ''NO. YOU HAVE TO FILE SINGLE.'' I told my husband to file single would be a lie, because 1) We're married, and have been since Feb 2009 and 2) It's probably not a good idea to put the wrong martial status with the IRS, especially since the army is paying him extra because I'm a dependent.

I told him to file for a International Tax Number or an Extension. Any suggestions? Thank youu!

I'm so worried though, like apparently they want all of my husbands tax information and what not. I'm so worried I'll owe the government like a thousand or something. Am I just being paranoid, or am I in trouble? ):

CanadaIR1 / CR1 - Montreal Timeline to Interview

Hi VJ,

I have my interview in Montreal on Thursday morning at 830AM. I have to say I'm a little nervous...

I have all the documents on the checklist that they have asked for but wanted to confirm a couple of things.

How many passport photos are needed? I've taken so many this year I can't remember.

Also, I've read something about having an ExpressPost envelope with me. Can someone explain?

Thanks again VJ! Fingers crossed!

FF

You will need 2 passport photos for your interview, in american specs. And you need an Xpresspost envelope so they can mail you your visa and papers back. :) You need the biggest size, should be about $20, theres extra for a signature.

We weren't even asked for them, so you can stop worrying. :P

Oh okay, I'm glad I decided to take the paper route then. It seems a lot less complicated to me.

Another question, does anyone know how military...taxes work? Basically, my husbands been deployed since March 09, he made way over the poverty limit. He's back in 2010. Now I just saw his W-2 and it shows $12k as taxable income. But his LES statement shows 36k. In NVC, everything we sent in was approved and A-OK. But now I'm confused about taxes...@_@ Everyone I've talked to said they'll base his income off his LES but I can't help but fuss. D: < And will we need a letter stating he's been deployed? @_@

Someone save me please? LOL
