IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWho signs DS-3032 for 1-year old beneficiary?
QUOTE (TVN @ Jul 22 2008, 10:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Who signs the DS-3032 (choice of address and agent) for 1-year old beneficiary?
I got the DS-3032 for my son in which it's required him to sign. He is only 1 year old.
He's too young to sign it. By common sense, should I (the petitioner) sign for him?
Can his mother (another beneficiary) sign for him?
I don't want to make a mistake. I need your advice. Thanks

If you're emailing a response - what does it matter? When the time comes, I intend to set up an email account in my son's name and email it from that account. As long as you include correct #'s and details, I don't think they will be worried. I do like the CYA abbrev - gonna use that....lol

We sent in the wrong title on the cheques and it was easier to wait for them to return the package to us so we could resend, than to send in new cheques and HOPE they matched them.

I would wait for them to request the additional information. I know it is a waste of time but at least you can keep your paperwork together.

QUOTE (LuLu @ Jul 26 2008, 10:52 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Thank you God!!

I logged in to check the petition status a few minutes ago for the 1983476375 time today. Honestly I wasn't expecting much of a change from the dreaded May 25 touch date I've grown to hate. And I saw today's date on there. Nervously I clicked on the case number as I expected a silly RFE....but I saw the word Approved...and went crazy!!! I called my wife and woke her up. I told her to make sure she was sitting down and then I broke the great news to her. I have been going crazy for the past 15 minutes.

NVC here I come!

For all those waiting and especially those who have waited a long time, let me tell you I know what you are going through. This is my second petiton as I filed for my ex-wife few years back. That first one was selected for additional processing and it was pure H3LL waiting for that one to get approved. It took 16 months from start to finish only to end up being cancelled days before the interview.

I sincerely hope each and every one of you will get the approval notice soon. Please know that you are all in my prayers.

Big Congrats to you! Please update your timeline so that I can throw your happy news up on the spreadsheet smile.gif

Cheers

Don't fix it if it isn't broken!

I would not touch Question 23 - besides its not that relevant. I would imagine they are more interested in your secondary and tertiary qualifications.

Bottom line is whether or not you are prepared to take a gamble. At least you live relatively close to the U.S A return ticket from here is around $2300. I would also take a copy of your initial petition and have the original NOA1 with you so that you can show that you are following protocol and say you were visiting your loved one while waiting for your interview.

hELLO,
Need help? Q2 Other Names Used or Aliases (If married woman, give maiden name). Since i was married already and i'm using my husband's name do i need to put my name using my single name. Q 33b do i need to check yes and Q34 do i need to put my husband for assisting to complete this form? And 1 more Q19 list all the children since i was 6 months pregnant for my second baby do i need to put her name since she's not born yet?

Thank you.

Your status says you are applying for a IR1/CR1 visa. Which form do your questions relate to? There is no Q33b on the I-130 form.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWaiting Part... Visa Process
Ok, here come my sentimental but true thoughts....

I really don't think many couples' relationship can survive this kind of separation - it simply isn't natural to love someone so deeply and not be able to express it fully. Something has to give. There may seem like a lot of us in here but we are the minority and we may think we have it hard right now - and in reality we really do, this #### is painful!

BUT...

Our marriages and relationships have something others in "normal" or "regular" relationships will never have. It takes a special kind of extra "something" to make it through this process, as we all rely on extremely innovative communication through a phone line and infrequent visits. I doubt anyone who has gone through this madness will ever take their spouse for granted once they are together, simply because of what we have to go through to be together.

Honestly, as much as I want to rebel against this prccess, it has also become a testimony of my love, trust, level of committment and PATIENCE!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInflux of VSC to CSC
Some of the content in this thread just reminded me that in the end, people only give a damn about themselves. As much as I appreciate honesty, some of the selfishness is disturbing. We all want to be approved, but I get the feeling some of us wouldn't think twice about stepping on the heads of others to get it.

Silly me for thinking that regardless of the statistics of each service centre, people who have been waiting the longest DESERVE to be approved first...

p.s. the optimism of those already approved, amuses me.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMore I-130 Questions
QUOTE (ao_cons @ Aug 17 2008, 07:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
First, thanks to everybody in this forum. You've all been very helpful. We're almost done with the forms. Just a few more questions.

I-130 Questions:

Section C, Question 15 - "Name and present address of employer"

Is this to be filled out regardless of wife being in the US or not? She currently has a job as a web content writer for a company based in her native country. We live in Thailand and wonder if it'd be an issue (keeping an internet-based job in the Philippines).

Section C, Question 18 - "Address in the US where your relative intends to live"

No space for zip code. Do I put it in anyway?

G-325a Questions:

"File Number"

What is this? It says "A". Do I leave it just like this?

"Place of Marriage"

OK to put just city and country? Not district?

"Last address outside the US for more than one year"

Living in Thailand for less than a year. But may be one year when I-130 application arrives, or at some point during the visa process (NVC, interview, etc.). Do I fill this in with present address or leave blank?

"Alien Registration Number"

This is the last black box at the bottom. Do I put "N/A" for myself (natural-born citizen) and "None" for wife?

General form question:

If I type in pdf file and answer doesn't fit, is it okay to abbreviate text (e.g. address)?

Evidence:

Is it necessary to include wedding photos and pictures with relatives? We had only a civil wedding here in Thailand and no photographs were allowed inside the district office.

We can provide receipts of money transfers and package shipments, between us and to our parents. Would this be helpful proofs of a bona fide marriage?

What about hospital registration record? We're both registered in a Bangkok hospital and I think the record shows whom the hospital should contact/reveal information to. Would it help?

We can also send copies of shipment receipts from husband to wife from years ago. Is evidence of long acquaintance needed, or not since we're already married?

1-130 questions....

1. Yes, put spouses' employment even if not in the U.S. Obviously if spouse is still in her native country, he/she is mostly likely employed there.
2. Yep, put zip code in anyway.

G325A quesitons...

1. You can't fill in Alien Reg. Number coz you haven't been given one yet - type NONE.
2. City and Country of Marriage is sufficient.
3. I wouldn't include residence of more than 12 months if you hadn't lived outside of the U.S at that address - AT THE TIME OF SUBMITTING PETITION

General question...

1. I abbreviated some things, but only if they were obvious eg. AUS = Australia

Evidence....

1. I would send a few photos if you have them, even if they aren't wedding pics. In your situation you have been living together married for such a length of time so I would expect they want proof. Howeve, more indepth evidence of evidence is needed at interview stage. Just send enough to support the petition. Affidavits from friends and family would be good.
2. Yes, I would show financial proof, bank transfers etc.

What do you need hospital record for? Don't you have birth certificates?

Given that you have been married a while, I would show bits of pieces of long-term evidence. Your affidavit from a friend who has known you since the beginning of your marriage, would be very useful.

1. we need to send the original thing? Do u return the original things back later? Notarial certificate of birth means just the birth, or the birth report.
2. Notarial certificate of marriage or marriage certificate?
3. can’t find the Notarial certificate of marriage certificate, do u take it already.
4. in the second page, request for the i-130 evidence, we need to send all the things by mail? Like all the photos? How heavy it is! Statement, financial record? So if we send all this things, does it mean we don’t need aninterview?
5. im a student, can I use my mom’s as an sponsorship?
6. we live with family, how can we have bills? They pay for it, but we do have the record of registering living in the same house.
7. form no.? yellow highlighted? A-Number should be printed in the back of photo?
8. why our process is so different to what I heard from other people or the cases in the internet?

1. No just send in photocopies at this stage so do not worry about about how things will get returned.
2. Photocopy of marriage certificate.
3. You don't need a notarized copy of marriage cerficate, photocopy sufficient at this stage in the process.
3. Some people submit about 5 photos of the wedding and affidavits by family. I didn't since this is more for those who have been living together married and not in separate countries. Marriage certificate is therefore proof of that. You haven't given enough information about your circumstances.
4. You don't send financial records at this stage.
5. You may be able to use mother as sponsor if she is in the united states. Is your spouse already living in the U.S???
6. Don't stress the financial part at this stage - get the petition in. There is other proof of relationship besides bills.
7. You can't put an A# on the back of the photo if you haven't been given it. Just write full name.
8. I have no idea.....need more info....

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFiling I-130 for stepkids while husband's I-130 is still processing?
QUOTE (positivity @ Aug 29 2008, 01:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello,

We just realized that to bring my husband's kids to the U.S. we need to file individual I-130s for them. My husband has a lifetime bar with a waiver available after 10 years (which will be up in August 2009). In the I-130 process for hubby, we have received NOA1 and a transfer notice to local office for interview, so I am waiting to receive notice of interview appointment for me at the local office.

MY QUESTION is, if we file I-130s for the kids now, will they

1. process faster than hubby's I-130 and be allowed in before him?
2. get put together with hubby's I-130 and process together?
3. something else?

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I don't know the answer to your question but I would certainly get the kids' petitions submitted now so that there may be a chance they can connect them. If the waiver is only availabel August 2009, wouldn't you need to wait until then anyway?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDiscrepancy between TIMELINES & PROFILES
Phillip2 - Birch-Beer had an excellent explanation in the K3 section......so I'm pasting for your information:

Please folks, too many people have K-3's listed and are Cr-1's,
and CR-1's are K-3's and then there are those who dont have a clue with N/A's...

heres how to fix it:

go to the top where it says "my Assistant"....put the little pointy arrow thing on it and click with your index finger.
(thats your point finger, if ya didnt know)

The second line down say "Edit / Add my Timeline ", please repeat with the little pointy thingy and click on it.

Put your email address in the little box and the little gray button that says, "Add / Edit my Timeline ".
Please repeat with the little arrow pointy thingy

the fourth (4) box down is a drop down box. click on the arrow and select your correct visa type. If you look on the left side, it will even say "Visa Type:" PLEASE choose the right one and alllllll the way down at the bottom,

click with the little pointy thingy on submit changes.

ahhhhhhhh, see? not that bad.....

(This tongue in cheek description was a result of working to many long hours on the help desk)

Please return to your regularly scheduled program

It is starting to become very tedius & time-consuming to maintain accurate information when people have K3 visa in their profile, only to find they are pursuing the IR1/CR1 visa (and vice versa). I understand some are new and still finding their way around this site and others may have originally sent off their I-129f petitions and have since changed to the IR1/CR1.

For the sake of all, could everyone please ensure timelines and profile information is in sync as each time there is a discrepancy, I have to go through each and every profile and try to piece the puzzle together based on posts.

Much appreciated.....
