Yes, passport is just a photocopy - however remember you also need to send in a photocopy of each of the other documents - as well as the certified copy.

Is it neccessary to send a copy of passport using ur married name? what about using maiden name? Please help me, I cant send yet my ds-230 coz i want to make things sure before il proceed with that. iM pregnant right now and my due will be next month (sept). I haven't renew my passport yet. I maybe a head of myself, but I want to prepare myself and be ready so I can be in and out of NVC. While reading the beautiful guide Loto created, I noted that original documents are request with DS-230. Please confirm is that is so, so that I can have my Hubby send me the original documents.

Additionally, can I go ahead and send my Hubby form DS-3032 or should I wait until it is generated and send my NVC?

u can email ds3032 once it was generated like i did..but my mistake it was generated long time ago and i just emailed it just this time...tsk tsk tsk

thats my concern also.. but just to be sure,im going to renew my passport coz i have to attend seminar also to be able to renew it.. im about to go to manila tomorrow for the seminar and hopefully i can go to DFA in the afternoon...

Hello. We pretty much have the same TImeline. Our IV bill payment was received on 8/20/08. Im about to send my DS230 too. Can you please give me a checklist of what docs youre gonna send along with it? I read your post about sending it yourself to NVC and that was what im about to post here. I got the answer

The fastest way is to pay online if you have US bank account,that's what I did in my case, it's really save you a lot of time week maybe two. Before you pay it online you have to call NVC and ask them for IIN(Invoice Indetification Number) and with that number you log in online and pay your fees online.

YES, just your name (last name first then given name followed by middle initial). pen or pencil, whichever you like.

i'm not sure where you got that info about putting your name and hubby's name and case number behind pages...i never did that with mine, but i didn't get any RFE..though i'm not saying it's incorrect, i just don't have any idea about that. where did you get that info?

those who paid online

i would like to ask since u paid both bills online, if the coversheet for AOS and IV are the same? coz my hubby paid my IV bill online but the AOS was paid regular payment.. i was thinking if we could just use the ds230 coversheet from the website to send my AOS again.. he have not receive the Checklist from NVC yet.. he already sent AOS before but NVC said they dont have it so theyre just waiting for it for my case to be finished.. thank u so much

Let's have him file for I-864 with Tax Year 2007 for now.
Then when you have interview with US Embassy, you can bring Tax Year 2008 copy just in case.

I didn't send my 2008 and was approved. I think because the taxes are not due until April they are not required.

If you do end up with an interview you can always take your 2008 return with you. Good luck

my husband is ready to mail his AOS.. what are the docs. he needs to attach?
he already has the ff:

signed I-864
I-864 barcoded coversheet
2008 1040 + w2
2007 1040 + w2 (he filed late,just this yr also)
2006 transcript
employment letter
pay stubs (how many does he need to include?)

for the 2008 and 2007, what else does he need to attach there?
is there anything he is lacking?
