my screen name came from a movie way back 90's, since then i promise to myself that when i got married and have a baby i will name it XYLIDE whenever its a boy or a girl..but since my mom-in-law died we named our baby next to her and so I told my husband that when we have another baby and i name it xylide franx,that means it will be our last baby.... hehehe the question is, when will tha be??? hehehe biggrin.gif

Im so sorry to hear of what happened to you.

I suggest you tell your parents to still deposit her checks as dated and your bank should return this checks to you after 3 days because then you can also file for a case under BP22 or the "Anti-Bouncing Checks Law". Since you have her picture, I would suggest you go to the police station and file for a blotter. Probably one in Cabanatuan and another in the City where her previous Travel Agency is. If Xlide's cousin is only 16 years old, she should have not even hired her since she is under age. Try to check if Xlide's cousin can help you guys. She should be willing to help you since xlide mentioned in her previous post that the reason her cousin left the agency was because she was "fed-up" with how the owner was scamming other people. She should be more than willing to help. She is a possible "accomplice" to all this (Im not saying she is but then if someone files for a case, she can be filed one too as an accomplice).

But then again, like Tngirl suggested, you might just have to charge all this to experience. Getting a lawyer and going through the judicial process would cost a lot of time and more so money. Probably more than the $800 you lost. It's sad but that's true. You might want to think about pursuing the case. But definitely file for a blotter at the police station. Google her name and see if a new travel agency has been set-up. Try to visit forums and check if their are other victims that you could work with. Xlide, to prove you innocence to all this, all you got to do is to involve yourself.

yeah..how u call this,since she is only 16, she is not like a full-time employee,so she doesn't get paid as a real employee gets..just to earn some,she went there and got hired,without even knowing that it is really a scammer...

some of the details of this story does not fit... the circumstances and details given by both parties just don't match.
I read between the lines, and I can see the real story here. There's a collusion somewhere to scam VJ members, I hope the rest of the people will learn to discern truth and not get taken in. This is a public forum, don't trust anybody you've just met... Filipino or not.

Likewise, if you attend the CFO seminar, they will tell you that most Filipino scammers will look for Filipino victims in foreign land. Because they are easier targets since they can make you feel more at ease and you will let your guard down because they are your fellow "kababayan" (Citizen).

To the OP, i doubt that you will ever get your money back. Charge it to experience and learn from this. Don't feel bad, lots of people get scammed all the time, there is no shame in being too friendly in trusting. The shame lies on those people who scammed you.

to think that my cousin is only 16 years old,and just work there as a what u call it P.A? someone who just answers the phone,going up and down the bldg. to buy this,pay that,get this, do that....she really doesnt know that she's working to a scammer, if i only knew it,i wouldn't recommend that agency..

yes she called me right after the incident at the airport.. and that time,ive been calling Laarni,and that whole day of 6th,i've been calling and trying to get a hold to that Laarni...
i was suppose to get ticket the next day(7th)but didn't get an available flight so i got the 8th flight...

nope, nagpadala ulit asawa ko ng pera pangbili ng ticket...
at ung pera na binayad namin,hindi pa din namin nakukuha...
buti nga s pinayamerican nasa manila lang,pwede nila puntahan anytime,
eh ako nasa cabanatuan, 3 hours drive...so the only way we could hold of that agent is thru call
tinatawagan lang namin....so pag hindi sya sumagot,edi wala....
sabi ko nga sa momy ko luwasin na sa manila...

i didn't get the chance to check VJ for 4 days now..

to clear my name, yeah my cousin worked there,and she's not in there anymore..
i didn't know that travel agency is one of those untrusted/scam....
i decided to refund my money but until now i dont have it yet.. my family is the one who keeps contacting that Agent
but untill now haven't heard any from her..
the agent said they already got ticket for PinayAmerican,and still looking for my ticket..
i also waited till Aug.6 but i keep tracking,even calling the airline website but they keep on saying that the confirmation number that the agent gave us has not e-ticketed yet...

PinayAmerican said that she will refund her money when they went to the travel agency office the 6th..so i said that i will refund it too...
i flew Aug.8 so from the 6th til 7th,we've been looking for my ticket and still contacting LAARNI and even beg her to just give our money back..
for PinayAmercian's family is easy to go there because they're just from Manila, but for me,its hard to go back and forth to Manila coz we're from Cabanatuan..

i hope it will clear my name out here...

Hi xylide,yup pwede ka dala,bsta ipailalim mo lng mabuti at balutin maiigi.Di nman kakalkalin ng customs laman ng bagahe mo,ibabaw lng check nila.Kc ako dami ko din dala nun,may mga foods din,binalot ko lng mabuti tpos dinoble ko pa then pinagitna ko,ok nman,wla nman naging problema.

i just returned from the phils 2 days ago. on asiana airlines u r allowed to bring to boxes not exceeding 50 pounds each. and a carry on bag i believe it was no moe than 20 pounds. remember no meats, vegies, fruits, seeds and u should be good. u.s. customs did open and go through my box in my presence so be ready and aware of everything in your boxes. i hope this helps.

baught fresh from the market,wrapped tightly with newspaper and packaging tape..even the tuyo..hehe
he braught balikbayan box back to the US with all our wedding gifts.... inipit ko kung longganisa and tuyo, ung talagang tagong tago...
he is a USC, but i am not so im still worried if they will check my box,i really want to bring tocino...

i just returned from the phils 2 days ago. on asiana airlines u r allowed to bring to boxes not exceeding 50 pounds each. and a carry on bag i believe it was no moe than 20 pounds. remember no meats, vegies, fruits, seeds and u should be good. u.s. customs did open and go through my box in my presence so be ready and aware of everything in your boxes. i hope this helps.

my husband brought longganisa and tuyo back to US the last time.. and i want to bring Pampanga's Best tocino also when i leave.. do they really open ur boxes?

hello,
i just filed my dad's I-130 and got approved and now waiting for the case to be forwarded to NVC.
i am currently deployed and out to sea right now so mailing docs will take forever!

my issue is, for my AOS docs, i understand that we have to meet the poverty guidelines. and i need last 3 years of my return(me and my husband filed jointly), i just started job late May 2011 so on my W2 i did not meet the poverty guidelines, for 2010 its just my husband's income from the Army and he got out in July 2010 so on his W2 it didn't meet the guidelines too, we only met the poverty guidelines in 2009.

what should i do and what should i send so i won't get RFE and process will go faster.

i don't have anybody to co-sponsor me.
