We just had our appointment last Nov. 26 at the embassy for my son's passport. My son is 1 month old only and his birth certificate was released last Nov. 28. The consul ask his birth certificate and my hubby old passport so i just drop off the additional documents last tuesday Dec. 2. I ask the consul it takes 2-3 weeks to deliver the passport. I'm just curious why you took so long to sent the additional documents? And why your papers stuck at the NVC. tnx

the consul asked for his school transcript and since his mom passed away,he didn't know where his school things are coz he moved after he graduated..so i told him just send his old and new passport and he was busy at work and got some problems that caused the delay of him sending it..
i just said that ill be stuck at NVC coz he's going to file his tax for my AOS,and to file it he needs my ITIN,and it will take 4-6 weeks before he gets it... so its like ITIN then TAX and AOS then COMPLETE!!

anyways about your question. if you wanted to pursue IR1 be sure during the interview that its already after your second anniv. so they will give you an IR1 visa instead of CR1..

I received my baby's CRBA and passport just this afternoon! Actually im not waiting for anything coz i thought that i would get it 2 weeks after i sent the addt'l docs they asked me.. I was just upstairs and my sister called me that someone from Air21 is outside,im not really expecting it!! im just so happy.. but at the same time still waiting for my case completion..
but i decided,if ever my case completed early next year and got interview before our 2nd yr. anniversary,we will leave after our anniversary,hoping to get a 10-yr green card..
am i thinking the right way??

hello everyone,

since my husband hasn't send my aos to nvc yet due to his tax,and he is going to file it next year when he gets my w7 for my itin,once he sent it my case would be done and just wait for my interview and everything..

i am planning to leave after our 2nd anniv. on july 30th next yr. to get 10 yr. green card(hopefully) and he will come here to pick us and to have vaccation also,he will stay here maybe for 3 weeks..
so its okay to me now for my case to finish even the first quarter of next year as long as i can get an interview before he comes here on july 09..

i was thinking of which is better,
1. to have my interview before he gets here or 2. have my interview when he is here?
if i will have my interview when he is here, is it possible to request for visa pick up at the embassy?

what are the pros and cons?

4 those who filed joint tax with spouse's w-7

i read somewhere that it takes 4-6 weeks to obtain ITIN when u file ur spouse's w-7..
i also read somebody filed joint tax with their spouse's w-7..
i would like to know if ITIN should be obtain first before u can file joint tax? and how long will it take for u to get a copy of ur filed tax return..

my husband filed his taxes and told me that our baby was not included because they have should be together for alteast 6 months..

Have your husband take the W-7 and both the 07 and 08 returns to his local service center. They will accept both returns and the w-7 and stamp and make copies. He can then send copies of the copies . You dont need to offically get the ITIN before the return is filed.

Has the IV bill been generated?? IF so yes, otherwise do not pay it, until the bill gets generated as it will cause a delay further down the road. Call NVC and speak to an operator to confirm.
