Robert, I would try to find out from the embassy how long it usually takes to get a visitor's visa and/or how long it would be valid. Also a consideration is how soon you will marry after your arrival in the U.S. If you plan on getting married right away then they should definitely apply before you arrive.

Bleh! NO CSC for us! We got our interview letter today. We are scheduled for September 7, 2006. Please keep us in your prayers. We give thanks for the swift date.

 It will be here before you know it!

Ultimately, prayer is your best protection. Going through marriage without prayer is like walking a high wire without a safety net. Always remember that prayer succeeds when all else fails.

Me and Mindy find that lots of Appelton Rum and Absolut vodka work pretty good too  :P

:jest: Ha Ha Ha.... that cracked me up! I'm a Mindy also and agree w/ you 100%..... haaa haaa

Welcome mangogirl.

Popcorn- try to relax and enjoy yourself while your boys are gone. They will be back soon then you know it, then you will be wishing for some quiet time. Try to pamper yourself, spend time out with friends, and do some organizing to past the time away.

Good advice

A little bit of good news - Damien's passed the written part of the drivers licence test :joy: .

And Damien talked to some old friends from in Mo Bay who live in the area. He really looks forward to linking up with them very soon. I've never seen him so excited....he is grinning from ear to ear. And I guess it wouldn't hurt that he's going home from July 20-31. We were suppose to come back on the 24th but his job gave him an extra week off so I changed his flight home. I may stay an extra two nights so we can have to alone time in JA...somewhere away from MoBay.

Great news!  Congrats!!

Hi everybody,

I'm stuck at work on this beautiful, warm Saturday night  :crying: To top things off I have a new boss who is a total pain in the butt. He wants me to work Sunday too :ranting: As if 6 days a week isn't enough?!! It's a constant uphill battle at this job. I hate it.

Anyway, going back to catch up. Hope everyone is doing well.

  Try not to let them suck every breath of life that you have. It's not worth it.

Well, I signed up Lake for a forklift driving class today. He did really well and got his certificate, I am hoping the fact that he is doing things like this will impress prospective employers! :)

Kimone-I'm not sure what I would do. Perhaps call and explain the situation at the office where you will be interviewing and see what they think. I agree with Rhonda though that it would be a risk if you rescheduled.

Jax-very nice villa! Are you renting the whole villa out for your US guests? Is everyone going to fit?

And to Michelle, thanks for asking, but no, we are still struggling, we have a variety that is pesticide resistant, is what we have found out so far. DUH! I have been mixing a mix of Vicks/Tea Trea oil/Neem Oil/vinegar/borax/salt/Clove oil/Witch Hazel/Oregano Oil and Orange Oil and we all have been bathing in it, and we have been bug free for 3 days now (knock on wood), except for Moms eyes. We have an appointment with the dermatologist and eye doctor next week, just not sure what to do for her. I have called everyone, nursing homes, ER, doctor, eye doctor, dermatologist, health department, extension office. No one knows anything so far, so I have turned to the internet (as you can see).
We all smell a bit like turpentine. Its sure a lot of work, having 4 people bathing for over an hour every day and still washing all the stuff in the house. Will sure be glad when this is over and I can think of something besides battling, like actually having a LIFE. Not to mention we have spent over $1500.00 now. :crying:

:o Sorry Jill; hopefully everything will be totally cleared up soon so you all get on with your lives.

Wow Michele that is amazing that you know who Dwain is he is still working there and Sandals.

I've been to the Sunspree 3 times. One one trip my friend insisted that we tell the band how good they were. We ended up talking to the sax player(the short guy) for a long time and we briefly met the other bandmates.

Sandals may be a better place for couples; but in my opinion the HI is better for the single girls ;)  B) We met some single people that stayed at Sandals(by the airport) previously. They said that the HI was a friendlier place for the whole family and more fun for singles. That's where I met Tristan so I have to agree. The last time I went to JA I stayed at the Sunset Beach Resort. One of my other friends that previously traveled with me at the HI stayed at the Wyndam last time with her daughter. We both agreed that we had more fun and the entertainment was much better at the HI. Different vibes. Just my preference.

Jamie glad to hear the "boys" are back home. I can imagine the agony of wondering what happened to them.
My baby 'Rockefeller' (the Rottie) was truly like a son to me. He was so smart that he somehow learned to open the chain link fence by putting his paw on the lever and pulling it open by putting his paw in one of the links(sounds impossible but very true) and strolled right out of the yard; fortunately the mail man brought him home. I would have been devastated if I lost him like that.

Fixing them will be safer for them in the long run.

Shemanya and ms thickness- I'm so jealous of you going to JA soon B)

Jax-nice pics! I do recognise Dwain from the HI Sunspree. Small world.

Tristan is improving daily; getting stronger. Yesterday he watched a football match. It's good that he's getting out a little.

Has anyone heard from Ms. Squitto or nyseness lately? I know the Squitto's will be having their big wedding soon. Best wishes!!

Well it has been determined that our dogs were stolen. They have never gone outside of our backyard and have never run off yet. Andre didn't see them for all of 10 minutes as he was getting dinner ready. They hadn't eaten yet for the night and there is no way they would leave before getting some food. They eat like horses. My whole family came over and I left work early and we searched within a 1-2 mile radius of our house for the last 4 hours. We asked all the neighbors. They are very nice looking dogs who have had many many hours of top notch training and are very disciplined and well behaved. They haven't ever ventured out of the yard and we have left them for 6-7 hours at a time without them going anywhere. My mom thinks that logically they had to have been stolen. This is so awful  :crying: :crying:

:( Sorry Jamie.

Hey Michele, Thanks again for reminding me about the marriage certificate.
We get the signed one that day and I can bring it back and change my name. The offical one I wont get until 2 months from the date in October. For all of those who did K3's could u use the signed one or did u have to wait for the offical copy?

I think you would need a certified "official" copy to file for your visa. Is there anyway they can expedite it? Two months seems a little long to me.

We just got approved -- NO INTERVIEW!! Can you all see me dancing?!?!?!?!?!?

Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or
to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On July 11, 2006, after approving your application, we ordered you a
new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

  Congrats to Mindy and Roy!!

I used the signed one to get drivers license and social security card. I got the official one a little over a month later. It only took that long because they mailed it to Trevor first, then he mailed it to me. I used that for the I130 and 129F.

Thank you Drucilla for helping me out :) . I guess I will have Dwain mail me the certificate too. How did Trevor send it to you? What type of mail service? Because Dwains letters sometimes don't make it here and I would get a little bit worried if the Marriage License got lost. Wow I trully wasn't suspecting to change my name this quick either. May be I should tell my boss to go ahead and order my new name sign. I didn't expect the students to call me Mrs. Brown yet either. That will be really weird to have them calling me by that last name since he won't be here until who knows when.

Take care,
Jax

Make sure that you get at least 2 certified copies. Have Dwain send it by Fed-ex or some other "guaranteed" overnight service. I still have regular Jamaican postal mail floating around somewhere from Tristan that was sent in December of last year

Yeah, now I don't have to keep "quizing" him about what color my toothbrush is and what kind of tampons I prefer to use

:o oh my :P

What ya saying, Rhonda? I chat wayyyyy too much? And Ann, posting in the middle of the night like that...sheesh!

I bet ya all miss my chatter, huh? :P

Michele - Get some rest  You can organize and put away later. I'm so glad Tristan is feeling better and you can find some good coming from the situation.

Dee - That's hard, did you ask her what it was for? Does Dave know? I agree, it is weird she needs it all of a sudden - as if you haven't been sending something consistently - sound fishy to me too.

Well my move was not too swift and some of my furntiure does not fit (my bed is in the garage because the headboard is too tall to make it up the stairs; there's not enough clearance between the stairs and ceiling :crying:).

KIm and Duane best wishes on your upcoming interview; I'm sure you'll be just fine.

Hey Jamie and Andre-good to hear from you!

Welcome Savanphil! Tenika noted in a previous post to allow aprox 7 days to receive your visa in case of delays. Some in the past have run into problems with the medical report getting to the embassy before the interview. I think Kelly(luvtravelin') had a delay for that very reason.

Ms thickness-Your trip will be here before you know it  Packed yet?

Jax you are always so busy! That's the way to do it though; it makes the time go by faster. Is everything all set for the wedding? How soon after the ceremony will you get your marriage certificate?

Tristan still has one bullet lodged in his side. The doctor's told him when he was first admitted that it wasn't their concern to take the bullet out because it wasn't near any major organs. The bullet is moving now and the doctor's said that it looks like it will come out near the entry point??? Anyways they told him if he can see it he can take it out himself :o :o ; go to the hospital and they can stitch him up  . If I didn't know Tristan I swear I wouldn't believe him- to think that a doctor would tell him such nonsense. I'm really cringing at the thought of all of this. He says that he's not really in a lot of pain; only when he turns and feels the muscles pulling. I think I'm more pained and hurt than he is. I am afraid of whether it will affect him emotionally. He is an introspective man and it's hard to tell.

The shooting was on the news and the news outlet identified the street where he lived.
Can this man really go home and work again in his hometown?

The repercussions of what happened are devastating and long lasting. Please continue to think of us.

I sincerely thank all of you for your well wishes and support. For those who sent personal messages I will try to get back to you as soon as possible (L) . I'm just totally exhausted.

Goodnight,

I want to thank all of you for your well wishes and prayers. Tristan was shot 3 times but no vital organs were hit; thank God. I was able to speak to him briefly and he seems to be doing alright considering.

Kim, he's in Cornwall Regional Hospital in MoBay; I hope the care they have there is good.

I found out this was a case of mistaken identity and frankly I'm afraid for him to go home again. I wish he was here with me now.

Thanks again for your support (L) .

Michele
