PhilippinesFilipina temper ! How you control it .

Yeh, my wife doesnt "yell". She doesnt throw a tantrum either. She doesnt throw things. She can get mad though. But when she gets mad she gets mad without yelling. And when she doesnt talk, it is just her way... cultural maybe? It is an expression of her feelings, her anger, sadness, hurt, frustration. And when that happens, it usually is really my fault...... Well, always my fault. I mean, weeks later she might get real quiet, and it is because she is going back through things in her thinking, I have learned, from weeks before. But if I can sort of guess what is bothering her, I might as well not ask, because she wont say. She keeps it all inside. But the frustrating thing is when she gets quiet and I dont know what it is. She will say there isnt anything wrong...that she is just tired. But I know there is something, usually, and it is frustrating to not talk about it. I will ask "What's wrong?" and she will say "Nothing is wrong! ....I'm just really tired." That may be the case, but I always know there is more to it than just that.

She has a part time job across the street. She is working a double shift today. I walked the baby in the stroller over to her because she wanted me to bring her the toothbrush. I left a note in the bag saying "Mahal Kita Jopay! XOXO" and brought her some ice water too in a water bottle. She was happy to see Shen, our son, and picked him up to hug him a lot. We are going through a hard time right now financially because I lost my job, but she is still there for me, and our love is strong, and secure. We have been through some struggles, but our marriage has stood the stress of some upheavals. We have both grown since she came here. And I thank God for my wife and son.

PhilippinesFilipina temper ! How you control it .

Best advice given to me at my wedding was that if you are mad at each other, get naked. It will be hard to stay mad after that. :)

my hubby use this trick but it doesn't work on my end. I am too emotional that when I'm angry I don't want to be touch or anything at all. I used to do silent treatment but I'm more vocal now. They also said that when you have misunderstanding never let the day end without settling it but for me I would rather cool down a bit before saying something or else I would burst my anger out and may say something that I will regret at the end. :)

PhilippinesWhy do Filipinos don't greet each other?

It's because of the attitude of...

"Dapat ako lang sa Tate, bakit ka din andito?!" Hmp!

PhilippinesHow did you meet your Filipino Fiance?

For many, the internet has replaced the bar girl scene. It's cheaper and you're less likely to get an STD from computer keyboard.

before I was even here in the US my husband almost got into a fight. He went to a furniture store and along his conversation with the sales person my husband (who was then still my fiance) said that his fiancee is from Philippines, the sales lady made a comment and referred me as "mail order bride", luckily my husband was with his friend and told him to keep his cool and walked him outside the store.

BTW,our story goes like this..

My hubby used to be in Navy and has been stationed to Philippines twice. When he first told me this, I did my calculation. His first trip I was only 9 and the second one I was only 12 (he's 10 years older than me  ) well of course we haven't met yet then. It was 2004 that my co-teachers taught me how to use chat rooms (out of boredom after long day from work). Sept. 2004 that we first said hi hello in AsianEuro public chat room, exchanged yahoo ID and was chatting for 2 wks. without looking each other on camera. To make the story short...April 2006 he came to visit me in Cebu, Philippines and to find out of whether things will work between us...June 05, 2007 came to America and had our Wedding August 15, 2007....Our son Ethan was born July 13, 2009 (2 days before my birthday)...he'll be 2 yrs. old nxt month and it's gonna be our 4th Wedding Anniversary this year...Very Happy and Inlove. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOnly one visit before asking for Visa K1
to ease out your worries, my husband who was then my fiance' had visited me only once and started filing k1 soon as he went back in US. We've encountered no single problem at all with our papers and I went to my interview all by myself too and was approved right away and got my visa 7 days after. Important thing is you met in person before filing...

Has anyone encountered a problem when filing form I-485 without evidence of medical record in the package?

Per instruction on form I-485, it did ask for your medical record. I am not going to include this in the package since USCIS already has a copy in their file as recently as 7 to 8 months ago when my fiancee has her medical exam & entered the US. I heard somewhere in VJ discussion forum that we do not need to include this evidence (medical record) in this package. Is it true that we need not include? If this is the case, then I'll want to avoid it altogether. Any one shed a light on this subject.

you don't need to submit a copy of your entire medical exam. BUT you are required to submit a supplementary copy of your vaccination (I-693a). This is clearly stated in I-485 instructional forms.

I always seee everyone with their timelines. Once you send in your I-129F to the Service Center how do you stay up to date? How do you know when you have NOA1, NOA2, Package 3 sent,ect....? Do you receive letters in the mail, can you see online, ect...? Thanks for any information.

you will receive letters from uscis like of, NOA's and packet but once you receive your NOA1 you can start to track your case online by registering on uscis website and create a portfolio and activate an e-mail notification...

How soon after i send the 1st packet in for the k-1 visa, should i have the 2nd packet ready?

ok, the I-129F that you sent that was the petition papers. for as long as you have included all the important documents necessary for the K1 process, there is no need for you to send anything anymore. All you have to do now is to play the waiting game..lol. In a couple of weeks or more you will receive your NOA1, NOA2(God knows how long), and roughly 5-6 months after you send your papers, your fiance'/fiancee will receive the packet(scheduled interview/medical) from US embassy.

For the meantime, you might like to start gather the documents needed for the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCONFUSED ABOUT VISA/PASSPORT
QUOTE (Jonboyusmc @ Jan 30 2008, 11:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Thank you for the quick responses good.gif Now I was just told that she needs to attend her CFO seminar BEFORE she can get her passport. Is this true??? I am going to attend her interview, when the time comes, and I wanted her to attend the seminar in Manila, while we waited for her Visa.

I'm from Cebu, Philippines. With my case before, we hire an agency to do all the paper works since both of us were working and too busy. It was the agency who filed for my passport and I just showed up in DFA for personal appearance and after 9 days I got my passport. I had my CFO seminar after I got my visa. But I guess, if you choose to file your passport personally, they will require you to undergo a CFO seminar first.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFew Questions about Packet
QUOTE (huggykiss @ Mar 8 2008, 11:16 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello!

Im new here and not so familiar with the K-1 processing. I have few questions and hope to be answered from the people who have been through with the process.

1. Whats the approximate time for the beneficiary to receive the packet after it lefts NVC?
2. Do they require specific time to submit all the documents they ask in Packet 3?
3. When do they send the Packet 4? Upon receiving the Packet 3 documents?
4. Does it take time to get a birth cert., cenomar and NBI clearance?
5. How do I know if I already have an appointment date prior from receiving the Packet 3? Where do I check it and what does it take?

Thank you in advance!!

i would say every case differs from one to another and by the ways those 2 notices that petitioner's received those are not packets they were notice of actions (noa1 and noa2, the 3rd letter which the benificiary would received that is the packet that includes your interview date, medical date, requirements to bring and forms to fill in...but anyhow here was mine:

1. 1 1/2

2. all those requirements stated in packet you will bring those during your interview

3. once u receive the packet your up for the interview unless they will ask u for RFE ( which usually would happen after the interview but if your documents are complete nothing to worry about this one)

4. NSO cenomar and birth certi. (mine was 5 days process..this is in cebu) NBI for travel abroad (it was 7 days for me)

5. I didn't really now my schedule of interview till i got my packet, but I had a friend who's packet didn't show up until her day of interview so she checked her case on the uscis website....http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

hope it helps...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswhat can we prepare while waiting for noa2
QUOTE (gabriela @ Mar 27 2008, 07:05 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hi. got our noa1 on january 30 so our noa2 is expected around mid or late june.

anyway, i was just wondering if there's anything we can prepare while waiting for noa2. i already read some posts regarding what documents are needed after noa2 like affidavit of support and supporting evidence for this.

Can i ask my fiance to start getting these (like bank statements, letter from employer, etc.) ahead of time? if yes, around how many weeks before our expected noa2? or should we just wait for noa2 before getting these documents?

thanks so much! sorry, i think im getting too excited blush.gif

...its possible u may receive your noa2 early of May. You may start to gather the necessary documents as early as now (like of; pay stubs, income tax return/w-2, letter from employer...your personal papers...

good luck...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOnce the AOS is lodged how long?
By the way, if your fiancee is lucky enough, she could have her GC 4-6 months from the day the process has began. If not, some people even have waited for a year...it all depends of which service center your papers are.

P.S. I couldn't find the previous post here that tackles about the pros & cons of applying SSN before/after getting married. Some says its a lesser hassle to get one before...but either ways its all up to you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOnce the AOS is lodged how long?
QUOTE (Steve and Amara @ Apr 5 2008, 02:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Once we get married we then file for an Adjustment of Status.

How long does the AOS take to be issued/ the SSN issued?

Hypothetically, If we got married on the 40th day after my fiancee's entry into the USA and then we file for the AOS on the 45th day, would her SSN be issued before the 90 days are up?

We are a little confused, obviously the AOS needs to be filied before the 90 days are up, however can my fiancee still be in the county after the 90 days are up if her SSN has not been issued?
If the 90 days were up and she still hadnt recieved her SSN (however the AOS had been lodged) would she need to file sme kind of 'bridging' visa or pay a fee to keep her in the coutry until her SSN is recieved?

Cheers! unsure.gif

I'll try to answer your questions as simple as I can...

If you plan of getting married on a civil or may be in church try to inquire first if they need an SSN# of your fiancee or they would just take her passport as a valid id, or otherwise, you can just wait till you get married before applying for her SSN( anyway this is not a requirement for AOS). Furthermore, it usually takes a month of process to get an SSN. For as long as you will be married within the 90 days from the day that she stepped on the US...then she is legal to stay. Then after the wedding/honeymoon you can start your AOS so she could enjoy the benefits of being a GC holder like; she could get a driver's license/state id/get a permanent job...

just write down your current address there is no problem with that. But if it happens that during the k1 process and your parents house has been sold out, just make sure to inform uscis of your new mailing address(es). Later on when he is doing his AOS then you can always change it to your new address once you move in to your new place.

Good luck good.gif

there certainly is scanners in most cafe in Philippines. With regards of sending regular mail, it may take longer before you receive it..maybe a month. With me and my husband before, we sent important documents through FedEx. I tried sending cards from Cebu, Philippines to US through LBC courier, it was 1,000 Pesos and if I remember it right, it was a 5-8 business days with tracking# and this was way back 2005. Not sure anymore how much would it cost right now.

Goodluck :)

The United States government is concerned about people brining communicable diseases of public health significance to the US and infecting the American population with it. Why in the world would they care if you have had abortion? The United States actually has some of the most liberal abortion laws in the country.

I hear you Mike B. I don't know why either but it's pretty much one of the standard questions that the doctor would ask in St. Luke's. I am just responding according to the OP's concern.

My fiance is wondering if the medical examination in St. Lukes in Manila, Philippines will require a female examination. She has never had a gynecological examination and is afraid of this because she is still a virgin and doesnt want to do anything to change this status. I told her that it is beneficial to her well being and that hasnt satisfied her. First I am not even certain they give this examination or if her situation would change the examination. Any help would be appreciated. So I can let her know exactly what to expect so she can be prepared. Thank you.

it's not like they're doing pap smear on her. the doctor won't even touch it. I think the main reason of checking the ####### is to check an outer sign of any std or if she had done any abortion before.
