US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionForm DS-156

Item 32 of for DS-156 asks: "Do You Intend To Work in The U.S.?" Yes or No

What is the proper answer for a K1 Visa? Obviously my fiancée will not be working immediately, but she will want to work after we are married and she obtains permission to work. I'm thinking that the correct answer for this (for a K1 visa) is "No" since she will not have the right work immediately, and because there is no answer to the following up item of "If YES, give the name and complete address of U.S. employer."

Read the "Example form" provided here on VJ, they are very good.
Here isthe DS-156: http://www.visajourn...Form-DS-156.pdf

The correct answer is YES (if your fiancée does intend to work) and then you have space to explain: "With work authorization, employer unknown"

Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionActual Visa Delivery Wait Time (London embassy)
I had it in 3 days also.

Which was good because as soon as we got my inteview date my husband booked my plane ticket for 9 days after my interview. He was calm and confident that we would receive it in time.....

He was right...but I wouldn't advise it! :)

I hope you'll have it soon :)

As I can remember, you can check when DHL has it and it's delivered very very soon after (especially if you paid for fastest delivery)

US Citizenship General Discussionnot sure what's next.

So i have to apply for removal and then wait 3 years for citizenship is that correct? also if i remove the conditions do i get a new green card or is that another bill?

I think you only have to wait a year after ROC, but perhaps someone else can answer that. I have researched the procedure, but not been through it yet.

It's currently $505 to file this form (I-751)

You must file for ROC by the two year anniversary of getting your first (conditional) greencard or you risk losing your permanent resident status. It sounds like this is what the lady was telling you about when she said '90 days before the two years is up...not citizenship.

Good luck!

Ok so, i have a 2 year green card close to expiring ( end of june ) came here on a K1 visa, got married and all, when do i apply for citizenship? me and my wife already did and they sent the package back, now if i remember correctly the lady when i got my green card said to apply 90 days before it expires, my question is....could it be 3 years of marriage OR 3 years of green card based on a marriage(resident)? if anyone could answer it would be great, do i need to renew my green card if its not the 3 years of marriage option? and if green card renewel is needed what for do i need and how much does it cost etc.

You now have to apply for "Removal of conditions" on the 2 year greencard you were issued when adjusting your status from K1 to 'Permanent resident". http://www.uscis.gov...000082ca60aRCRD

I believe it states you will be eligible for citizenship after 3 years of being a permanent resident. http://www.uscis.gov...ources/B3en.pdf

Good luck with everything!
