So I had this dream last night I was checking the USCIS website and there was a touch but I couldn't read the details. I was excited but a little worried I didn't know whether it was an approval or RFE (heaven forbid a flat out denial if that happens). The whole thing was VERY real.
So real to the point I almost checked my status this morning but I figured it's a Sunday, I'll give it until Monday. I had already accepted it was just a dream. But I did check my email and....
APPROVAL!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif
I received an email at 9:45 saying my case had been approved and a notice mailed 8/24.
I couldn't believe it. And what's with the dream! I double checked on the USCIS website and sure enough, approval Friday with an update of this morning. I think I caught some good mojo coming out and saying hi last week. Thanks guys!
I'm reeling. It feels great to be through with that part and one step closer to making the dream a reality. Best of luck to the rest of my fellow May filers. Please beat my 117 days!

What a way to cap a weekend!!!.....Now you can have a great start to the new week. Congrats and Good luck!! kicking.gif

Maybe someone with a little insight as to what happens to our cases at CSC can explain this to me. I called CSC on the 24th, the lady I spoke with said that our case was in the mail room, she would not tell me any further, she just said to wait, it will soon be processed. Is this outbound mail yes.gif ? or is it just waiting to be assigned no0pb.gif ? I hope to get some good news soon. Like everyone else here, I'm anxious to move on with my life, this is such a road block to where I want to go. Good Luck everyone!!! good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsATTENTION : MAY FILERS ... lets keep in touch!
I once read a story about a miner, he headed west during the gold rush days to stake his claim.

He finally made it to Colorado, staked his claim and started digging. Sure enough, he struck Gold. He covered the hole
and headed back east. Once he made it home, he borrowed as much money as possible, purchased the finest drilling equipment, hired men and headed back west.

This Miner went back to that same place and started digging, he did find a lot of Gold there, it was coming fast, he was dreaming of being wealthy.

Then one fateful day, he hits dirt. The Gold Vein dried up, they kept digging for a while but finally gave up.
Fortunately for him, he had found enough gold to pay off all his debts. This miner found a local junk man and sold all his
minning equipment for just a few hundred dollars.

Well, this old junk man saw an opportunity, he hired a proffessional surveyor, the surveyor was
an expert at surveying fault lines, he said that there was still gold nearby. The old Junk man started digging again.
Well, as luck would have it, the gold vein picked up only 3 feet away from the old vein, they gave up 3 feet short.
Just 3 feet away and the original miner would have found a very large Gold vein, so large in fact that it would have made him a multi-millionaire. The Junk man did become a multi-millionaire.

It pays to be paitient, sometimes we can find our selves just 3 feet from success and wanting to give up, never give up. Failure is a true trickster, when success is the closest, failure will try to trip us up the hardest. Keep going
forward and don't look back.

Good luck guys, hope this little story helps. Maybe some of you have heard it before, maybe some of you are thinking of giving up, don't do it. It's a true story, I just don't remember the names.

I think they are "ON" to the old RFE trick. Officer Ortega was very skeptical about my RFE worries. Maybe she was close to telling me, "liar, liar, pants on fire!" wink.gif HA! Wouldn't that have been a hoot!

I am sending all kinds of good, good, good, good vibe-ations your way... ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I was hoping we'd get some more good news today, maybe we will as it's not 'closing time yet' and I didn't get my official notice until nearly 3:30 PT yesterday, so there is still time in the day for some good news.

Fingers crossed!

Ever Hopeful,

Annette

I did call CSC again today, I was straight up about getting a chance to speak to a real human. I told then I pressed all kinds of buttons until I finally got to hear a live human voice, that it was a long time coming for my approval. However, they did tell me that our file is still in the "Mail Room" and ready to be assigned to a case officer. So I will just keep waiting, keep being positive minded and letting time be my best friend.

This time we have away from our loved ones demonstrates our commitment and determination, it shows our true love and desires to hang on and wait no matter how hard or difficult the situation may become. Never give up, Failure is a trickester, he will trip you up when you are at the closest point of success. Good Luck

I am one of the early May filers, no action on our petition yet. No touches and fortunately no RFE's yet. However, I do have NOA1.

I do check this site often, it does encourage me to see the others here that share the same problems and the strength it gives to see the success and joy of the Visa approvals and reunions.

To be away from our fiances, spouses and families is the hardest thing to endure. I have gained a valuable experience thru this process. The human frailties, the possibilites of the unknown events, the pressures, stress and just the time being away and seperated over such a great distance can cause a strain on even the strongest and most committed. I commend all who endure this to the end.

I am patient, I will stay the course. I am committed to this to the end. I hope all others will remain strong and not give up no matter how hard or difficult the process. Always remember, nothing good or worthwhile will come easy. We must fight for it.

Good luck and I wish all a speedy process.

USCIS Service CentersCalling Service Centers
I had an interesting conversation with an employee from CSC today, she informed me that I had called 4 times in the past month and that these calls are causing a delay in the processing of our case.

For anyone here that is experienced with the internal processes of the Service Centers, is she accurate in her statement?

If so, then I would most certainly quit calling, but what a cruel wait to treat their customers. This is an important matter to us and apparently they don't take it seriously. It's our lives and the life of our families they hold in their hands.

PhilippinesWhat to do about Fiance's son ?
Hi, just read this thread and it caused me to become a little worried. I went back and looked at the 129F I filed, I still have PDF copy on my computer. I noticed I did not list my fiance's 2 daughters, will this be a problem for her at time of interview? If it is potential problem, is there any way to ammend 129F? By the way, her daughters are older and plan to stay with their grandmother. Thanks

Question - "I attended the Guidance and Counseling Program prior to the issuance of my visa. I was informed that I need to register with CFO upon the issuance of my visa. Do I need to attend a seminar again when I register?"

Answer - "You do not need to attend another seminar, unless you have a new petitioner or country of destination." :)

Question - "I attended the Guidance and Counseling Program at CFO Cebu Extension Office. Can I register at CFO Manila?"

Answer - "You may register at CFO Manila provided that you were already issued a CFO guidance and counseling certificate at CFO Cebu as a proof of your compliance with the counseling requirements. In the same manner, if you attended the counseling program at CFO Manila, you may opt to register at the CFO Cebu Extension Office. "

This yahoo messenger is actually our preffered method to communicate. We both have computers at home, so using webcam and head phones works great. The Voice is great, even better than calling with cellphone. Best thing is it's a free service.

PhilippinesPassport
Emma "Marife" is making an appearance today in Manila for her passport. It has really been tough on her that she does not have an old ID. She's from Samar province and her home was near the sea, many of her documents, ID's and pictures were lost during a typhoon. She has really struggled to get all new documentation. She had lost practically all....Her High School Diploma, Her College Diploma, work ID's, everything was lost, she practically had to rebuild her life.

DFA does not make it easy, if there is no old ID, it is really tough to get a passport. Here is the US, all I had to provide was my drivers license and Birth Certificate. It's a little overkill there in PI.

She presented Drivers License, NBI, Birth Certificate, Voters Affidavit, Postal ID, SSS Number(Not permanent ID), Baptismal...yet it was not enough, they turned her away at Clark because she did not have OLD ID!! I guess she has most of her documents needed for the Visa now. She even obtained a Cenomar while she was at it.

Now she has her Form 137 from School, she is receiving assitance from a Travel Agency and they assure us that her ID's and documents are enough. They were recommended by Larry and Jen, we are grateful. Thanks!!

What is acceptable to answer yes to in the Medical Questionaire that would not trigger an automatic Denial at the Inteview?

we all know that honesty is the best policy.. but if you read what happened to jen and larry its all up to you..

It might be prudent to think about the same issue from a different angle. Aren't the US government using the medical examination as one step in controlling who they let in to their country? Foreign nationals do not have a right to be let into the US. The medical examination is one step in protecting the USC and the US at large. Significant lies (such as the ones you are implying are acceptable) mean that the US authorities do not have all requested information to make an informed decision.

I did declare that I been arrested in an offence relating to alcohol in the medical examination. While I appreciated the potential repurcussions this could have on my case, I felt it was important to be honest - I wouldn't want to feel like I had entered the US under a cloud.

As for the particular case you mention above, the lady in question did tell the truth in the medical examination. She gave the US governement the facts they requested and they made an informed decision.

We have come to the point in our country where many decisions made by it's citizen are judged by the Government and accepted or rejected.

No one is perfect, we all have our faults. Some of us or most of us have used drugs or became intoxicated and acted foolish in our past and yes we still live in this great country. I am not an advocate of big governement and I find it offensive that the goverment forces itself into the decisions of it's citizens in reguards to their choice of companions.

What happened to the ability of the USC to seek happiness? Apparently when it comes to choosing it's companion, we have no choice in the matter! Tell a Man he is not able to marry the woman he loves, what do you suppose will be his attitude, is that in his best interest? A man can be foolish in choosing his compannion, it's his choice, We will never have a perfect society, our country will never have perfect citizens. I say that it's better to let the USC choose his companion and work it out as he sees fit.

Love is not to be dictated by Government, it is not to be touched by government. Just my opinion!

My views may not be compatible to everyone here, but what if it wass your fiance, your spouse or your children that was not allowed here and you knew that they had the best intentions, maybe you would view this from a different perspective. Unfortunately these views are reduced to broken lives and split families, there is nothing a single citizen can do about it, the govt is way to large now and really does not care. Try calling any Service Center and tell me if you will find a compassionate and caring individual.

I'm curious, would people be interested in sharing where in The Philippines they immigrated from and what language is native for them?

Jena is from Northern Samar and was raised speaking Waray. She is also fluent in Tagalog, Bisayan, and English.

The following is from Wikipedia

The Philippines

According to Ethnologue, a total of 171 native languages are spoken in the country. Except for English, Spanish, Hokkien, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Chabacano, all of the languages belong to the Malayo-Polynesian branch of the Austronesian language family.

There are 13 native languages with at least one million native speakers: Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilokano, Hiligaynon, Waray-Waray, Kapampangan, Bikol, Pangasinan, Maranao, Maguindanao, Kinaray-a, and Tausug. One or more of these is spoken natively by more than 90% of the population.

I had a 4 year old daughter from my past boyfriend. Her name was in the application although my hubby and I haven't talk of petitioning her, maybe when I get adjusted with the place and get a stable job, that's when the time, But for now, Its only me. My hubby knew everything about her, my past etc. My question is, what could be the best answer if the consul ask why my daughter is not coming with me. Plus my daughter and hubby don't have pictures together.
Would it be a problem? or a lot of people do that?

Coz I'm thnking its really hard to moving from one country to another> I need to adjust first with the country and with my hubby. We want to enjoy each other's company, and I want to work.

MY eldest is government scholar..my 2nd child is first year high school..I told the pre-screener that I dont like them to move bec it will be hard for them to adjust ..and besides its cheaper here in PI to study..I told that they will follow me when they finish college..my eldest will be first year college nxt year...just think what will be the best answer..on my case im surprised wth the questions but im quick to answer for 6 months reading evryday on VJ it helps me a lot but the best thing we did is our constant communication wth my Fiance..means evryday talking on phone and chatting so I know all whats there on my documents and its easy for me to answer.good luck

I will have to add, if I had been present for her interview, we would not have this delay. The Consulate Officer would have had me there to answer any questions he had. I did send the notarized statement today, I don't care much for delays. It is advisable for Fiance's and spouses to attend interview if there is any way possible, it will help to eliminate any possible delays and help keep the poor ladies calm. good.gif But I am happy, at least she did get her approval and not an assignment to the AR dungeon. yes.gif

Kenny

just a question why u did not include the daughter in the forms ? its ok even u dont get them at same time ? and CONGRATULATION also

It was a mistake on my part and I did not catch it until after I had submitted the Visa petition.
