I called CSC many times, they told me every story you could imagine, I heard it all. It's not assigned, it's in the mail room, it's on the shelf, it's not assigned, it's in the mail room, it's on the shelf. In fact, there was one Chinese lady that told me my case would be delayed because I called so often, she told me I am allowed 2 calls per month.....then I received the email stating I'm APPROVED!!!....So don't be too concerned with what they tell you at CSC when you call them and they feed you that same old garbage. Hold on just a little longer...Good luck!!!

I'm just hoping that the service centers aren't letting the approved pettitions pile up before sending them on to NVC, that would just cause another bottleneck.... that's just about dumb enough however that they probably are doing just that. On this same train of thought, has any early may approvals gotten confirmation that it has made it to NVC yet?



I called NVC today and they said our case has yet to arrive, apparently it's still at CSC. My understanding is that they will ship out once there are a large number of approved petitions.

When we had first sent in our petition, I was kicking myself for not sending it to Vermont. That Service Center was known for it's speed and efficiency, the approval times were as quick as 45 days. So much has changed there, it's as if they are not working, I am saddened for those trapped in the hands of VSC. All I can do is offer prayers and Encouragement. Eventually you will get your approval, but it's sure enough worse than pulling teeth!!! Good Luck

The length of time for the petition approval and the attitude taken by the USCIS employees is unforgivable, but we as individuals can't change it. The best we can do is be patient and encourage each other. This forum is meant to encourage and get useful information as to the process of completing the Spousal and Fiance Visa.

I think it would be useful and helpful to all of us if we worked on being calm and encouraging. I have been waiting as most of you for a long time to be with my fiance. I have been in love with her since the day I met her in December of 2005. The waiting has been nearly unbearable, but it will all be worth it.

Just think of how much appreciation you will have for each other once you are together. Use this time apart to prepare mentally and physically. One advantage is you will have excellent communication. Good Luck!

Ok my fellow May filers....let me tell you my little experience here. I woke up at 3am on the September 11th, I stopped by the bathroom, then went to the kitchen and got myself a drink of water, I normally sleep thru the night. I decided to checked the computer to see if my Fiance had sent me a text thru yahoo. To my surprise, I had the Cris email notifying me of the approval. It was emailed to me at midnight.

You just might find a nice surprise waiting for you when you wake up, it will come when you least expect it. I was so excited to call her and tell her about it. It was a good day!!! Yours is coming, just hold on tight.

Also, it was a very emotional moment for me, we have gone thru so much together, I have watched her struggle and I have been practically helpless here. It was a moment of tears, but also a moment of great relief. Soon our lives will change, and it will be patience that wins the day. Good luck everyone!!! May Approvals come quickly!

By the way, our VJ estimated approval date was September 16th, our actual approval came in on September 10th. According to the VJ timeline, it took us 135 days and it came in 6 days ahead of VJ timeline schedule. So you can make plans based on this and others. I studied the VJ database and it came in close. Hang in there, all the early May filers are due within the next week.

Hang in there guys, just know that the amount of petition filers actually using this website is only a small sample of the true number of petitions filed and processed. I am sure that there are many being processed and approved, it is just not being reflected here on this website. Kind of like a rain storm, it will always be raining, just maybe not over your head, but somewhere it is raining.

Petitions are being processed, you just don't see the progress. Hundreds, maybe even thousands are not even aware of such a website as this, therefore you will not hear of the good news or touches they also receive. Good Luck, your time is near!!

The average CSC approval rate is 120 days from time it is mailed, ours timed out at 135 days. So if you are less than 120 days, figure on waiting a touch longer. Be patient, it will come. Our petition was not the strongest, yet we did not get an RFE, and we received approval. So just hold on a little longer. I did call a few times, but it did not help, just gave me grief and stress because of the lack of care we received from CSC. Good luck

I called CSC today and the lady I speak to gave me some interesting information. She informed me that I had 4 calls recorded, that I called too often and that this will delay our petition. Is this true? I am ambitious, I am determined to see this to the end, surely she is joking!

Also, she was not willing to give me an update as to the status of our petition. Sounds like they are trying to discourage calls.

For us once I was told that it was ready to be assigned to a case officer, it was only a few days till we got our approval notice. From what I was able to get out of the officer on the phone, cases go from mail room to box, box to shelf, shelf to case officer, case officer back to mail room, mail room to NVC.

Funny thing is that unless you are missing something in your packet, the whole review takes less than 20 minutes.

The 1st time I called they told me that our case was in Mail room. The 2nd time I called they said it was not assigned yet. I guess maybe someone is a little lost there. blink.gif wacko.gif

I know this K1 Visa process is long and delayed, but I must tell you, Marife "Emma" has been working on getting her passport as long as we have had this K1 petition on file. She had to practically rebuild her life. All her personal documents and ID's we lost during a bad storm, most suffered water damage or was lost. In the Philippines, if there is no Old ID, it is tough to get a passport. She has recently submitted a new application for passport and it was approved....it was a small victory for us.

Now if we can just get this K1 approved and move on to the next step, it has been tough waiting, but now it is out of our hands and in the control of big govt.

We will all get our due attention, it's just a matter of time. I'm thinking this next week will be good, many of us are approaching the 120 day mark, it is about the avg waiting time at CSC these past couple of months. Good luck!!

I got touches 2 days in a row, Yesterday and today. Was it because I called yesterday? I hope that todays touch is genuine and I'm about to get in on some of the action, I will just wait and see. Well, I did call CSC again yesterday. I spoke with a nice lady there. She said my case has not been assigned to an officer yet whistling.gif ...SO I guess we will not be getting our approval this week crying.gif I hope maybe we will get some good news next week. It's been such a long time.

It's really hard to make plans with such a long and drawn out process. All we can do is be patient, the answer will come, but boy is it slow!!

Congrats to the latest VJers that received their approvals, the rest of us are waiting in line for our turn to get that pat on the back good.gif yes.gif

I'm reeling. It feels great to be through with that part and one step closer to making the dream a reality. Best of luck to the rest of my fellow May filers. Please beat my 117 days!
