K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsThe case was not found with USCIS

Your case was removed from the database for some reason, your best bet is to call the USCIS Customer Service line and speak with a Tier 2 IO. It could be a glitch, it could be a mistake, or maybe something else happened.

Either way you or your fiance(e) needs to call asap, that's the only way to know for sure, and everything else is just speculation.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFile transferred to Texas 21 June 2013

Cases are picked up in batches. If cases around yours have been approved but yours has not, there's a chance that they're waiting for something, a background check, a police record, etc.

From what I've noticed, an Adjudicator picks up a box of petitions and orders a BG check for each petition, some take longer than others to come back, other times a case has a flag that needs more looking into, or there's an RFE, and those are usually the stragglers.

It takes 1-2 weeks for you to receive any papers from TSC, keep in mind they don't overnight you anything, so while they may have sent you an electronic notice, chances are it will still take at least a week for the snail mail to get you to.

Have a little patience and respond to the RFE as promptly and completely as possible.

I typically suggest giving 2-3 weeks after your 5 months is up before stalking contacting the USCIS offices. You can also check the status of the case numbers before and after yours. This will give you an idea if they're working on cases around you and if they are, they MAY be adjudicating yours soon! Keep in mind though, every case is unique, and nothing is guaranteed. smile.png

here's how:

It's pretty easy you go here, which you can get to by visiting the USCIS website and entering in your receipt number in the "case status" box on the left navigation.

It looks like this:
11l29fm.jpg

Then you'll be on this page:
a0km5c.jpg

From there you change the last 2 digits in your case number down or up.

So 411, 412, 465, 466, 489, 490, etc

Also,  WAC is only the California Service Center. EAC is VT and you're only posting CSC users. :) Might want to include the range for VSC as well. :)

I would make sure your case wasn't just transferred:

http://www.visajourn...service-center/

The NoA2 specifically will state your I-129F petition was approved or denied. The transfer will tell you what service center you were sent to, Vermont is transferring all I-129F petitions to Texas.

The NoA transfer (NoA-T) notice will look like this:

It won't go into the system until they get your physical file, which is mailed via snail mail, if I recall correctly. Have more patience -- it should be there in about a week.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsReceived an update not sure what it means.

You will get one more email saying your case HAS been transfered and is now in processing....then a week after that one another email saying you been approved

Congratulations

This is not entirely correct, people who's been transferred have been waiting almost 2 months & have heard nothing yet, and some are approved right away. Some are denied, and some get an RFE.

But straight forward cases typically move along quite fast once transferred to the TSC. We'll have to see how they handle this batch of transfers. :)

It's not a bad thing, so keep your chin up!

Received the same update today, was happy at first after reading closely I realized its not approved but more processing time being added on.  Mixed emotions here.

Having your fiance(e)'s presence during the interview (even if he/she can't attend) is ALWAYS a big thumbs up. Some embassies/consulates "unofficially require" the sponsor to be present during the interviews. You can check out the embassy notes by clicking the flag under your avatar image on your post, if there are no notes, look at timelines from other members who've gone through the process.

Good luck!

When did you file?

Also, to help out the other Visa Journey members, you can fill out your timeline which people can click and see when you filed, and your basic process. It lets other users know where that Service Center is at. smile.png This is completely optional ofc.

Notice this quote from the screenshot page above:

* Note on "Last Updated" date:

Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email and/or text message notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.

This happens when your case is "touched" and you'll typically see something soon after. You are fairly early on in the process, so I wouldn't expect anything too soon. It could be an error with the system or someone is working on your case.

I was approved July 26th, and my case has still not been forwarded to NVC. I'm a TSC transfer.

Also it's USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services), CSC (California Service Center), VSC (Vermont Service Center), TSC (Texas Service Center), NVC (National Visa Center).

The incorrect use of the acronyms will likely confuse people, to help you better phrase your questions in the future. :)

As of right now the NVC is informing people that the transfers can take 4-8 weeks from the Service Center to NVC. You're not the only one waiting and frustrated, trust me.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAbnormal situation with uscis

We got NOA2 on 07/22 and got an email that our case has been shipped to nvc on 08/08....after 22days from 08/8 that our K1 case has been shipped to vsc we got same email AGAIN that our case has been shipped but with different date.

July 10th - Transferred from vsc to tsc

July 22nd - Noa2

July 25th - Noa2 Hardcopy

August 8th- status on uscis says; approved case has been shipped to nvc

August 30th - status on uscis says; approved case has been shipped to nvc AGAIN!!! (abnormal)

Then i called NVC on Tuesday (Sept 3rd) and i was told  uscis status says we just got (noa2) approved on august 30th and we have to wait for 8weeks

before nvc receives our case....Is there anyone going through the same situation? Is there anything i can do?

NVC may have sent the case back to USCIS for re-affirmation that it should be approved. It happens sometimes, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did so with how TSC is new to processing I-129F petitions.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNo-one can tell us where our approved file is

dude.. case was sent from nvc to embassy.. there haven't been any recorded instances of the nrc after the nvc that I have seen

There's been several instances, if you search the threads where the TSC has mistakenly sent approved cases to NRC instead of NVC. It's not a common thing, but it has happened often enough that it should be considered if the case appears to be "lost".

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNo-one can tell us where our approved file is

There's been several cases where TSC sent an approved petition to the National Records Center (NRC) instead of NVC. It's a recurring infrequent issue, I would recommend emailing  SCOPSSCATA@dhs.gov with your complaint and issues. smile.png

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDenial of K-1 visa due to age

It is common in PI for the Male to be older, often much older.

It is not common for it to be an issue.

Elsewhere is different.

PI is not involved in this case.

Then my apologies, I misunderstood what you were saying.

d3adc0d3Not TellingArgentina2013-09-11 13:13:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDenial of K-1 visa due to age

If I misread you, then please elaborate, that reads as it's a common issue in the Philippines. Perhaps the wording is off.

d3adc0d3Not TellingArgentina2013-09-11 13:10:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDenial of K-1 visa due to age

There is a difference between what is culturally normal, PI is a common example, and what would never occur if there was not the prospect of a GC.

The latter is the issue.

At least at that age any children would have flown the next so there are not limitations on who will be the one to move.

I know a Canadian in his 40s who married a Philippine woman in her 20s and lives happily in the Philippines with her and their 2 children, there's no Canadian citizenship, & no green card. I know several men from all over the world who have done that and work in the Philippines happily with their young, beautiful brides.

You're passing judgement based on your opinion, you do not have facts, statistics, or statements from the people involved regarding their reasons for the relationship. You have nothing but assumptions, suppositions, and a few previous cases where this happened in the past; which has happened all across the world and is not limited to the Philippines.

Regardless, it's their decision to get romantically involved. I'm sure there are plenty of older men who get involved with "Gold Diggers" knowing that's exactly who these women are, and simply don't care.

If you want to open a debate regarding this "issue" there's a forum for debates and general discussion. Someone's thread asking for assistance is simply not the place.

d3adc0d3Not TellingArgentina2013-09-11 13:06:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDenial of K-1 visa due to age

Honestly all the snide remarks about the age difference is childish and petty.

Its their lives, they are adults and will do as they please. Who are you to judge? They're happy and that's all that matters.

There's a major cultural difference in the Philippines; the young Philippine women are by default attracted to older, more stable (both financially and emotionally) men who are ready to settle down. This is not limited to men of other countries, this is just in general. There are plenty of Philippine women who date men their age too -- but the trend tends to be towards older more stable men.

Please tell me what is wrong with two consenting adults being in a relationship regardless of the age difference? The men and women who are romantically involved with someone who is much younger than them are well aware of the implications this may have -- but they chose to get involved anyways.

In my opinion, they're not hurting anyone, they want to be together, so as far as I am concerned it is none of my business.

I am a young professional woman who is 31 years old and my fiance is a young laborer who is 24. While the age gap isn't 10 or even 20 years, we're both blissfully in love and happy. We're also well aware that there are connotations and implications which society places judgment on us with. We simply don't care and can't imagine ourselves with anyone else.

We all come here because we fell in love despite the distance and are looking for both information and emotional support during a very trying process. This young man or woman is coming to you seeking support and knowledge for herself or her friend and you have the audacity to verbally assault their relationship? I'm disgusted.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDenial of K-1 visa due to age

The age difference can be a red flag, but in and of itself would not be the sole reason for a denial. There would need to be a lack of evidence regarding a bona fide relationship between the petitioner and the beneficiary.

If they were denied, prior to the interview, then the reason is likely that there wasn't enough evidence supporting that they met.

If they were denied, at the interview, then the reason is likely that the beneficiary didn't answer the basic questions well enough and/or that there wasn't enough evidence of an ongoing relationship to satisfy the requirements.

You need evidence that you met in person, face-to-face in the last 2 years, such as:

  1. passport stamps
  2. boarding passes for plane/train/bus
  3. photos of you together in various places and times
  4. ATM receipts placing you in the beneficiary's country
  5. evidence of you cohabiting together (hotel reservations/leases/rental agreements with both your names)

If it's after the interview you need evidence of your relationship after you files such as:

  1. Phone logs/Text Logs
  2. Chat/IM logs/Skype logs
  3. Emails
  4. Letters/packages sent in the mail
  5. Passport stamps if you visited again
  6. Photos of you together (if you visited again)

We keep calling and getting the standard "8 weeks" response. Is there anyone else approved in Texas in late July in the same position? We're beginning to worry that the file has been lost

Also, does anyone have any experience of what happens if we get to 8 weeks and the file still hasn't turned up?

sad.png its probably that..how ridiculous that they want us to sign a letter and send it around the globe and back to them! If we are filing for this visa, isnt that enough intnet to get married? We even have a son together, like what more can they possibly need

It takes 5-10 business days if you have him send it priority. My fiance is from Argentina too, and we're almost at the interview point, so don't worry there's hope!

Make sure you BOTH sign a letter of intent (one from each of you). I recommend signing the papers in blue ink (and filling them out/writing them in black ink) on a magazine so the imprint of the pen is visible.

Sometimes they suspect that the signature isn't original and send RFEs for that. Just so you avoid that!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC taking too long

(V/T/C)SC are taking their sweet time in shipping approved cases to the NVC.

If you have not gotten a notification that your case has been sent to NVC, then your case is likely still at the (V/T/C)SC. You can call the USCIS customer service line to check this, if you doubt the online case status page.

NVC is stating that it takes up to 8 weeks for USCIS to ship approved/reaffirmed cases to them. This means that your case is likely just waiting in the backlogged queue. The trend seems to be about 6 weeks currently.

I was approved 7/26 and my case wasn't shipped until 9/4.

If your unsure of where your case is at... call the USCIS customer service line, once you give the Tier 1 Rep (the first person you talk to) your case information so they can bring up your file, ask to be transferred to a Tier 2 Rep. They'll offer you a call back service in 3-5 business days or the choice to wait. Choose to wait; the wait is typically around 2 hours. If you're calling from a US number you can opt into the automated call back service which will call you back once your up in the queue. You won't lose your place in line, but it helps so you don't have to wait holding a phone to your head for 2 hours. smile.png

Good luck!
