IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	What to do if one has no W-2 or US tax records for CR1 interview in China?	Hi all, First time poster, long time reader. I have a question. I'm an American who has been living in China for the past 4.5 years, during which time I married a Chinese woman. A few months ago I filed a I-130 form and we have recently received the first notice that it has been passed along to the Visa office in Guangzhou. I never filed US taxes while living abroad in Shanghai and I do not have any W-2 forms from my Chinese employer. I recently moved back to the US and began a new job last week. My question is, would an "employment letter" from my current new employer stating my current salary etc. be sufficient in proving during the interview that I have the financial resources to warrant my wife's green card? My wife feels I should file taxes for the past 3 years (something I should probably do anyway) but I'm afraid it will take too long. Another option might be to use my parents tax info and use them as a co-sponsor or whatever (any links to information about how this works?). Basically, my question is, would a signed letter explaining that I did not (but intend to) file taxes in the past 3 years along with a letter from my employer outlining my current salary be enough to satisfy the financial requirement as far as the immigration people are concerned? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 2014 filers	I am going to look right now.  I was checking flights when I got your message.  Because of work I can not take a nice chunk anymore.  Was planning on taking all of July on leave, but was laid off of my job.  Thankfully I was blessed with a new job within 2 weeks.  My supervisor approved my time to go in April and for out appointment whenever that will be.     Thanks for the site, checking now.   Also try Kayak.com and check multiple times a day. Also check different days, some days are cheaper to fly than others. I just recently booked my flight to London a couple weeks ago for two weeks in May. My fiancé was checking flights for me and the day I booked my flight it was $100 cheaper in the morning. By afternoon the prices went back up. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April Filers 2013 K1	I had a discussion a week or so ago about the TSC process with a Tier 2 Immigration Officer.   TSC ships the case back to VSC after they approve it, and VSC then processes it how it needs to and ships it over to NVC. The TSC doesn't typically adjudicate I-129F petitions, so this is likely why it takes 3-4 weeks before NVC gets an approved TSC K1, since TSC has to ship it back to VSC, who then makes sure everything is in order and then ships it over to NVC.	d3adc0d3	Not Telling	Argentina	2013-07-29 12:58:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April Filers 2013 K1	They get thousands of petitions a day, these are not all K1 petitions that come in and get numbers before ours, so keep that in mind! 3000 numbers before could be a matter of a few days on your Receipt Date.   Also this link: http://www.--.com/im...ipt-number.html   Explains case numbers. Now I'm not sure how FULLY applicable that is, since it's 5 years old, but it makes some sense. Considering my "day in the fiscal year" is in the 900s, I suspect it may be "computer days" since they started the electronic process (i.e. 2007-2008). There's no K1 apps in the 500's and I didn't see any in the 600's either. There were only a handful in the 300s, and very few "stragglers" that got transferred.   This is how I did it: It's pretty easy you go here, which you can get to by visiting the USCIS website and entering in your receipt number in the "case status" box on the left navigation.   It looks like this:   Then you'll be on this page: From there you change the last 2 digits in your case number down or up. The last 3 digits of my case number is 700     If you look back a couple of pages I explained how I got it.   My case is EAC1390263466 So I'm looking at cases in that 400 range, which is what I've been posting. Nope, we got approved!    But I'm trying not to get over excited cause I'm still waiting for Australian police certificate. It's been more than 2 weeks but still hasn't reached my mailing address, I hope it doesn't get lost somewhere.   Congrats! That's very exciting!   You have plenty of time, the service center will have to send it to NVC who will process it and forward it to the embassy, then you'll get packet 3 to fill out and gather the paperwork for and send it back.   You can get packet 3's instructions from US embassy website for your country. I would recommend grabbing it if you can to help you gather what you need WAY in advance.   Either way. you're likely looking at another 2-4 weeks, if the Service Center doesn't delay in sending your approved petition to NVC.	d3adc0d3	Not Telling	Argentina	2013-07-25 07:22:00
