star_smile.gif Everyone deserves a vacation. Maybe if they took a nice vacation they would come back happier and want to make other people happy. These people work very hard with very little appreciation. The get the brunt of our grief and frustration. No one calls to say how great they are for processing a case quicker than normal. It is what it is.
Yes, I do think we might see less motion during the holiday, unfortunately. crying.gif

No one calls to say "good job brownie" because these are the worst stupid slow and inefficient workers ever. Vacation? they should be handcuffed and flogged into doing some work.
Happy holidays UCSIC.

Our NOA1 was finally in the mail yesterday. After more than 4 months of waiting this was the perfect belated Christmas present and a very good end to the year of 2007. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of you who are still waiting.

Hoping to hear something this month.... since I mailed it in not too far after your send in date.

I wonder if all this delay has some political data impacts...making those in power look TUFF on IMMIGRANTS by shaving down the number due to non processing of bulks of cases for about a 1/2 year.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInsurance for your spouse
I decided against spending the extra money on insurance for my spouse this year via my employment, since there's not a chance in hell of her actually getting a visa in 2008. If there is ANY movement, meaning I get a reciept and maybe a hint of her having a chance at a visa in 2009 I'll consider adding her for next year. Why throw money on coverage she can't use.

QUOTE (j.debonis @ Jan 14 2008, 02:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
HoHoHo,

I believe susieK asks a really good question. Do you have a confirmation of delivery of your petition? When I sent mine to the Chicago Lockbox, I made sure the USPS received a signature. The USPS sent me an email stating they received the signature. Then I requested even more from the USPS by asking them to send me the confirmation in the mail too. So I got the USPS email and a copy of the signature.

Why is this important? If you have confirmation (from whatever means you sent your petition; USPS, Fed EX, UPS, DHL, etc), then you shouldn't have to start the process over again. As tough as it is, I'd wait a few more weeks because things have only started moving, from what I can see here at vj, in the past couple of weeks. But if you have to resend, your delivery confirmation should send you to the front of the line....for your NOA2...which might get you out of there around the same time as other filers within your time frame.

This is all my speculation though and based entirely on the delivery confirmation. Do you have it? Other than that, any correspondence I'd have with uscis would be by email with a cc to all my congressmen...or even to all of congress. That raises a question...can we contact uscis by email? I'll go look. smile.gif

Hang in there....you know how to do that more than the rest of us.

James

Yes I do... I have my confirmed delivery number from the US postal service, as well as I printed out the RECIEVED at st. albans VT 8/22/2007 from the website.

So It DID get there. What happend who knows.

I'm quite confindent they send some to chicago and most to a fcking dumpster.

Am I the olny idiot with absolutely no feedback from them, or is this just normal procedings.

I'm debating to resend in NEW I-130, a virgin finacee K1 (despite being married already), and a K2 without I-130 reciept in total despiration to get SOME type of hell anything whatsoever response. At this stage I'd jump for joy for a letter that says F you and F you spouse, you'll never live in this country together, since it would give me a course of action to follow.

A half year of my limited years of marriage before death have been flushed so far, with probably years of bullsht and waiting to come. I'm confused , all information here is out of date in the realm of the new USCIS procedures. blah blah, I'm sure not one really cares...you're all knee deep in the same garbage I am.

But I'm infuriated when I read about this and that person married and filed in august who have got NOA MONTHS AND MONTHS ago.

My wife's income with an elite job in the 3rd world adds up to like 6 times under the USA poverty level.

The H&R block guy said as long as she isn't working in USA I don't need to add in her income. But don't quote me, when I originally read about it I THOUGHT I needed to add her income to mine. Either way it will help my return even if I have to add her meager income to mine.
Seemed to think it was a BONUS i'd be crazy to not claim.

I had my wife notorize her passport and her version of our marriage certificate at the US embassy.

QUOTE (j.debonis @ Jan 18 2008, 05:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I don't believe it is "blah blah blah". I think the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service is doing the best they can. I believe at the heart of the agency, are people who are tasked with a difficult job. They play a major role in the security of our country, and I, personally, believe that not all people at the USCIS are heartless and insensitive robots just taking home a paycheck. I believe most people can understand the heartache we feel as we wait. But, due to several factors the agency has experienced unprecedented workloads. Within such a mass of work...remember, we're dealing with paperwork....some are bound to be lost...unfortunately. I don't believe the website to be blah blah blah because ever since the website started indicating updates, more and more vj'ers were posting the receipt of NOA1s and now we're even beginning to see NOA2s trickle in.

Emotion and frustration has caused some of us to falsely accuse USCIS for fabricating lies. If people here were not indicating movement within their own personal process, I would agree with such statements. But I don't.

The experience of missing our spouse or relatives is an experience I wish for no one. Simply...it hurts!!! But that is no reason to trash an agency and post false information. I say this only to add a positive post to the mix and hopefully encourage some. The USCIS is moving...despite what others are saying! Proof? Look at people's personal time lines.

James

you trust the government WAY too much LOL

I AM american, and its the patiotic thing to criticize and lambaste shoddy planning, shoddy service, and shoddy butt covering. Fabricating lies IS what governments do. All over the world. And the USA is world class in that sport.

USCIS had an unprecedented number of applications filed over the summer. I doubt that the ICE comes out and handcuffs them unless they ignored an automatic letter they will receive telling them that they must leave the country since they have no legal right to be here...thats the way the system works. Its known as the widows trap, and if the USC spouse dies before their AOS, there is no law that permits them to be here. Sad but true.

There is no law that says to deport them either.

Featured an immigration lawyer telling tales of the hundreds of spouses shacked, cufffed and sent to cells because they reported their spouses had died prior to their final interviews.

Reviewed that there is not law allowing this,
but USCIS has sort of Bush Executive priviledge to re deny for super secret reasons that they do not have to divulge.

makes me feel really uneasy.

I really think I need to face reality that I may be forced to find a new country to live in.

Good for NPR and the NYtimes for putting some on this into the news.

The lawyer wasn't so optimistic that the KGB, I mean USCIS would release any of its authoritarian power.

?????
Well...had the spouses died or not???
What's the rest of the story???

yes... they died, [and no they were not murdered by the widows(!)]. They invoke this "law" that does not exist to instantly deny and arrest the widow. Often with young child. Child being US born american citizen. They did say the young shaver can stay legally in USA all by him/her self. But mommy must twitch her nose and vanish back to her home country or else she's a fugitive, and gets thrown in the slammer.

These cases get appealed, get won by the mother, then the USCIS invokes super secret reasons (which are not disclosable) to deny and deport anyway.

yay family values!

but USCIS has sort of Bush Executive priviledge to re deny for super secret reasons that they do not have to divulge.

makes me feel really uneasy.

I really think I need to face reality that I may be forced to find a new country to live in.

Good for NPR and the NYtimes for putting some on this into the news.

The lawyer wasn't so optimistic that the KGB, I mean USCIS would release any of its authoritarian power.

Since my tax return money landed in my bank account this week, I assume they finally assigned my wife her ITN (i had sent in all that stuff needed to get it with my paper return).

I haven't got anything in the snail mail yet, and I need the ITN to finish off my state taxes (which are on hold awaiting this number also)... (way it works is I have to mail it in)....

can I get this from IRS? or is it on it's way in the mail? (if anyone's got theirs would like to hear about it).

will be nice to open a joint savings account also.

When did you fle your W7? I filed 8 weeks ago and still nothing. I called yesterday and they told me 10 weeks to issue ITIN and then 8 weeks for refund. That puts my refund arrival in June!

By the time I got all the stuff in, done, mailed back and forth overseas for singnatures and all that, mailed off in late February.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresITN number question
Weird....

now my state return money has been zapped to my account....

I wonder if this means there is some automated communication between the ITN issuing dept. and the state.

I still haven't got an official ITN in the mail.

BUt I've got my moneys. [but still no NOA2]

Just wondering, what mailing address did you all use on the W-7. Was it yours in US or spouse's foreign address?

I put mine.... the tax guy said to do that even though it reads as if its the other way around.

I guess, my stuff iss bass akwards, I got the money, but no ITN officially yet.

obviously they couldn't deal me the extra cash out had they not ITN'd it.

I think!
