CFO:  check Visa:  check Airline ticket:  check.   She's flying into Detroit, then to Cleveland.  Here's the thing: There is not much time between flips in Detroit, 1 hour 40 minutes.  I've read the POE reviews, and that looks ok, but it still makes me nervous.  I'm half expecting a call that she missed her flight.  There is another Delta flight to Cleveland, but it's not for another 6 hours.  Here's my question:  should I just go ahead and greet her in Detroit?  It's about 2 1/2 hours from me to the detroit airport.  Will immigration and passport control allow me in when they question her?   Thank you in advance!! Philippines	dotting all the i's	I hate those Delta lines in Manila.  Just when you get through the first one, the immigration line is already filling the room!!  I'm telling her to get there before 4AM for the flight.  That 'should' be enough time.    When I went a couple of weeks ago, I had a Korean Air flip to Seoul around noon.  No lines at that time.  Very refreshing!! My question is when paying the travel tax, does she get her boarding pass first, then pay the tax, or can she do before she gets in line at the Delta counter. Philippines	Appointment Letter from US Embassy Manila	That is weird that you got the letter from the embassy, maybe they are realizing that PhilPostal does not deliver.   Yeah Hank...it was definitely strange.  Oh well..all is well that ends well!!  They did give her a hard time at St Lukes though.  I guess they keep asking for a letter from NVC.  I didn't get anything from them.  I hear others have had the same issue with St. Lukes.  But, like I said, she's here!!  That's what matters most!! Philippines	Appointment Letter from US Embassy Manila	We did it all online.  As soon as I got the MNL number, I booked away.  Funny thing though, I flew over for the interview, and came back home after a few days.  I checked my mail and there was the confirmation letter from the embassy.  Oh well...better late than never, right?   My faince arrived yesterday!!!! They say it takes most of a day for every hour you're off for jet-lag to clear.  I'm usually ok after 2 or 3 days going over there, and about 5 days coming back.  It still sucks though...waking up at 1AM after sleeping for 2 hours and looking for breakfast. In my experience, once you have the MNL #, the paperwork hits the embassy in about a week.  Check ustraveldocs.com.  You have to create an account, but then you can see status updates. Philippines	Connecting flights to US	I am not sure on that, I never had more than 3 hours between flights, but I would believe you should be able to check the luggage back in immediately.  I would suggest making a call to the airlines   I had a 13 hour layover in Beijing once.  That was the worst!! Philippines	Age gap difference in Philippines	They made a mistake and sent in the I-129F with the embassy letter. This reminds me of a similar mistake USCIS made with me, when they sent back an original addendum I sent in, with the letter of receipt confirmation. I called and they asked me to send the addendum back. What is particularly interesting about this mistake posted in here is that they let out of the bag what they do with large age gaps - confirming it is a red flag for them and that they write it in red ink on the front for the interviewing consular officer.   I think it's a case by case thing.  We are 23 years apart.  We did the interview June 11th, and age never came up in questioning by either consuls.    Just adding my 2 or 3 cents worth...she's already here!! Philippines	Approved K1	Regardless of what I've read here, I think it makes a huge difference that the fiance and petitioner are present for the interview.  At least it helps with the length of the interview.  When we were there, most of the fiances were there without their significant other.  Their interviewers really put them through the ringer.  Our interview lasted a total of 4 minutes for both consuls.  It makes a difference. I know their are medical exam fees but can anyone from Peru tell me how much and what other costs there are after the $170.00 I-129f filing fee? Mexico, Latin & South America	Child's Birth Certificate	I have searched this site and TRIED to call USCIS, NVC and the US Embassy in Lima, Peru to find the answer to no avail. Briefly I will explain; My Fiancee has a two year old daugther and the father was not at the birth, therefore his name is not on the birth certificate. He has never wanted anything to do with the child and has never supported her in any way. My question is how can we meet the requierments of both parents names being on the certificate? It is pointless to call the info help lines because I can never get through. Anyone had this sort of problem? How was it resolved? Thanks, VJ's you have been so much help. As part of the documentation to prove that me and my fiancee have been together in USA before, I have boarding passes, Credit Card report of expenses and ATM report of movements. Now, I know I only have to send copies of all these documentation, have these copies being signed by a lawyer certifing that they are real ?, in the case of the Credit Card and ATM report, those are in spanish, I know for sure I have to send them for translation to a registered translator (Do you know someone in Peru ?), have these translated documents being signed by a lawyer too ?. Maybe I only need to send the copies and the translations with the translator sign and thats all !! ... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hola a todos, Soy de Peru y necesito su ayuda ... Como parte de la documentacion para demostrar que yo y mi novia hemos estado juntos en USA, tengo los tickets de vuelo, el reporte de mis gastos de la tarjeta de credito y el reporte de los retiros de cajeros. Ahora, yo se que solo debo enviar la copia de todos estos documentos, pero, estas copias deben ser firmadas por un notario y a la vez estas firmadas por el Ministerio de relaciones exteriores ? ... Lo mismo para el reporte de gastos de la tarjeta de credito y el reporte del cajero, estas estan en castellano asi que se que de todas formas hay que traducirlas por un traductor registrado ( conocen alguno en Peru ? ), estos documentos tambien tienen que ser firmados por el notario y por el ministerio ? ....
