USCIS Service CentersWhat if we...

RFE's are a result of errors and omissions during the submission of the case made by the people submitting the documents. USCIS reviews whatever is submitted and can not finish the case if the docs aren't complete. So those countless stories are created by the countless people that submitted incomplete documents. That of course causes addition time to be needed on those cases which causes set backs in the other cases.

You missed the point. I'm saying that RFE's aren't the cause of USCIS's delays. More often than not, RFE's aren't issued until someone looks the case, which, in some cases are beyond 8 months. I'm over 6 months now. They haven't touched my case since October 4th. If they want more evidence from me, I won't hear about it until they look at my case.

Yep. That is the wonderful part of this... you could sit around and wait 8 or 9 months, only to be told that they want something else... something you could have given them months ago.

True story. I have read countless rfe stories from folks that have already had their petition pending for months at CSC.

What would you hold them accountable for? They're just doing their jobs. They can't help it if the numbers of immigrants that they process per year has them overwhelmed. Everyone knows, or should know, that the process takes time. If a person doesn't like it they are not forced to participate.

Thank you for your comment. I see the whole process for you took 90 days? I'm 180 into it now, and I'm a rookie. There are some here that have waited well over 200 days and longer. This is what I'm talking about. The K visa process was put in place to shorten the time we are spent apart from our loved ones. I'm just spitballing ideas to get the ball rolling. I am in no way talking down your short wait time. It's awesome that you were able to get it done so quickly. I only wish that could have happened in my case and others who are still waiting.

I thought about this a few weeks ago, but I'm skeptical. I think regardless of outcome the lawyer would end up w/ most of the money.

That goes without saying. It was just a thought anyway. Anything to expose the USCIS and CSC in particular and hold them accountable.

I wonder is a class action lawsuit would draw the needed attention to our plight with CSC, and the USCIS? When you think about it, they are affecting the wellbeing of our respective family units. Pain and suffering, etc.

Any thoughts?

USCIS Service CentersHow many supporters are here?

Also from what I can tell. There've been over 60 people that have looked at the letter now. This is great news, granted not all of them will send letters, I imagine. But if they do, and we can get even more. We'll definitely be grabbing the attention of the Director, I think.

I will send one. I've already gone the email route, and received his out of office reply. I have asked a few close friends if they would consider sending on my behalf, or on everyone's behalf waiting for an NOA2. What do you think?

:ot2:

So if someones parents went around murdering people and stealing their property and kept a fund made up from all their stolen goods of the people they had killed, then gave proceeds of that fund to their children. Would you say the children are entitled to that fund just because they didn't kill anyone, so they didn't commit a crime their parents did and therefore they deserve the money? Immigration violations are a serious crime, just like murder.
If you are the by-product of crime you shouldn't be given any preferential treatment just because you didn't directly commit the crime, someone else committed the crime for you and was never punished for it.

How's this as a rough start? Anyone want to give feedback on stuff to add/edit? Cheers.

I like it. I would change a few minor things to make it different from everyone else, but the framework looks good!! I say we get moving on this. Every day is more and more painful watching their lack of action.

Have you tried contacting DOS or the ombudsman? Those are two other ideas you can do.

Already contacted the ombudmsan...got the canned response. I did, however, get an email address of a human with the canned response. I'm thinking of contacting him directly.

Stay tuned.

USCIS Service CentersI figured it was time I called USCIS
I've done everything else, so I suffered the 30 minute wait on the phone. I got a tier 1 rep immediately, and I asked for a tier 2 rep. I waited for about 1/2 an hour and was finally connected. Sure, he was nice when I was explaining the long wait time, and CSC picking petitions from November and December, (I'm an October filer.) He took a look at my app, and immediately went into "You're well within the filing timeframe." I tried to push him, but he had no answers. "Wait 3 or 4 months." Ugh. I think I will recontact the senators and congressman now. I hate waiting, but, in reality, that's pretty much any of us can do in the long run. God, I'm so frustrated.

USCIS Service CentersA rep for our congressman contacted USCIS on our behalf
I just sent a reply to my congressman's aide. Here's what I said:

Thank you Mr. Dobo.

That answers some questions, but not about why they are approving petitions from November and December, and not October or earlier. I have quite a list of research available to me. I know for a fact that there are petitioners from July that haven't even been looked at yet. Words from USCIS, especially CSC ring hollow with me. I appreciate your efforts, but until I see concrete results, and USCIS is held accountable, I will continue to enlist support from every level of government I can. Remember, there's an army of petitioners out here that want nothing more than to be reunited with our loved ones. I trust you understand my skepticism.

Kind regards,

Ron Irving

There...I sent it. No more sitting and waiting. I am sick and tired of the bulls*it from USCIS. Wait 3 more months? I think not!

USCIS Service CentersA rep for our congressman contacted USCIS on our behalf

I want this to be true. But I have to ask if they are up to mid August, why do we still have so many July filers and early August filers still here on IGORs list.

I specifically mentioned to him the lack of action on the July through October cases, and the recent November and Deceomber approvals. He conveniently skirted those questions. It's interesting though that, according to his conversation with the USCIS officer, that they have been contacted by many congessional offices regarding the fiance visa. Maybe the pressure is finally getting to them. Here's hoping!!

USCIS Service CentersA rep for our congressman contacted USCIS on our behalf
I re-contacted my congressman's aide today myself, and have gotten somewhat good (?) news. Here's what he said:

I called the California Service Center and they informed me that--unofficially--they are up to mid-August in terms of processing. The officer I spoke with said USCIS has taken note of growing frustration at the extent of the I-129F backlogs (many Congressional offices are contacting them with cases just like yours) and are taking steps to remedy the situation.

at least it's different from the usual drivel we get.
Ronn63MalePhilippines2013-04-12 14:49:00
USCIS Service Centerswhat's the reason of no July - Oct. files had been approved?
That's the magic question. I have contacted USCIS directly through their customer service line...big waste of time. I have contacted my congressman's aide again, who skirted the question. I asked him again directly that question. I'm waiting for a response.

USCIS Service CentersWorkload from CSC to TSC

Exactly. Same thing happened at the VSC last month and processing times did speed up considerably. I suspect CSC was beginning to feel the heat from immigration attorneys and Congress. I know my congressional office was looking for answers. What's the saying? "Squeaky wheel gets the grease?" The vast majority of K-1/2 filers are motivated, active, vocal and engaged completely in this process. We also pay taxes and vote!! I just hope this is good news. It's been nearly 7 months for us!! :-)

I'm about a month behind you!! This is awesome news. Now, I hope this translates into action!! I too have contacted my representatives in the government. I can squeak pretty loud if I need to.

Chins up boys and girls!!!

At this time your constituent’s case was received on December 03, 2012 and is within the processing time frame. We are currently processing cases received on
July 18, 2012 or earlier.

My case was received by USCIS CSC on October 1st. Idiots.

Is there anything I can send to my senator's aide from this site that proves different?

yes, you should contact your congressional reps. That's what I did at 5.5 months...not sure if it helped, but I did receive mine at just shy of 7 months, (October 1st filer - October 24th NOA2.) Putting pressure on USCIS is important now.

Ronn, I don't know about the email addy but you can definitely schedule the interview online using the MNL and receipt number.  I got our MNL on Wednesday night and was able to schedule on Thursday.  No need to wait around for anything else before you schedule.  By the way where did you see the message about the petition "in transit"?  On the USCIS website?  Mine still just says petition was approved etc.

Thanks!!  I tried to schedule the interview, but it didn't like my deposit receipt number.  I read somewhere that it may be available after 11:00 next day.  My girl didn't tell me what time she did it...I think it was later in the afternoon though.  14 minutes to go...LOL.  Am I excited??

Ok...so I checked my status today. The petition is 'in transit'. Good news to be sure. It also says that 'the interview date has been provided to you by the national visa center'

I haven't gotten the hard copy yet. I have read in previous posts that I can schedule the interview myself using my MNL number and the deposit receipt number. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Also, my fiance's email address has changed. Do I just send an email to the embassy to change this?

Thank you in advance!!!
