It means that the initial validity period of the passport must be at least five years. It doesn't mean the passport needs to have at least five years of remaining validity on it. The reason for this requirement is that it's possible to get a limited validity (i.e., temporary) passport for emergency travel from a US consulate abroad. For example, if your passport were lost or stolen you could get a temporary passport allowing you to return to the US. A temporary passport can only be used for short term travel - it can't be used as proof of citizenship. Thank you for answering. I was just wondering where and how it came about. You may also send copy of your valid, unexpired U.S. passport issued with a validity period of at least five years. You need to copy all pages of your passport. Just have to ask, since it's news to me. Where did you get the info of " with a validity period of atleast five years" for the passport? OP, send EITHER copies of the front and back of your BC, OR, copies of all the pages of your passport. That's all. If your spouse has any Stockholm specific Q's (even though we are in different visa-types, it's all pretty much the same over there) it's ok for you guys to PM me. Om du har en intervju tidigt pa morgonen och allt gar val kan du ibland fa tillbaka passet senare samma dag eller sa skickar de den till dig inom en dag eller tva. Nar jag hade mitt intervju behovdes en extra sida med information som jag skickade in ca en vecka efter tillsammans med mitt pass. Tva dagar senare fick jag passet i brevladan med visumet och 'det hemliga kuvertet. Alltsa maste de ha tagit hand om allt inom en arbetsdag. Tack så mycket för ditt svar! Har börjat kolla lite försiktigt på biljetter, fundersam hur nära efter intervjun man kan boka för att vara säker. Du har antagligen redan tagit hand om detta eftersom inlagget ar snart sju manader gammalt men sist jag sag listan (2004 versionen) sa fanns det en lakare i Stockholm (Goran Bulow, som tog hand om mitt 'medical exam') en i Goteborg, tva i Malmo och en i Ornskoldsvik. Detta kan ha andrats sedan dess, listan kan du fran ambassaden pa forfragan, de kommer ocksa att automatiskt skicka den till dig nar du behover uppsoka lakaren for undersokningen. Tänkte bara uppdatera för framtida fundersamma, Det finns numera en i Stockholm (Göran fortfarande, ska också till honom) en i Göteborg och en i Malmö. Otur för oss som inte bor nära någon av dom! Och en liten sidenote, jag mailade faktiskt ambassaden med en förfrågan om att få en lista, dom sa att jag skulle vänta på att NVC skulle skicka den till mig. Tack så mycket! Räcker mitt personbevis från skatteverket med alla relationer eller måste jag skicka efter det som jag antar finns hos pastorssambetet (tror det heter så). åsikter? erfarenheter ?, jag förklarade min situation för tjejen i luren på skatteverket och hon sa att detta "borde" räcka till. Eftersom du frågat på två ställen,svarar jag på två ställen,haha! Här är det som står officiellt angående BC och Sverige. Birth Certificates Available. Birth records for persons born after July 1, 1991 are called "Personbevis", and are issued by the local office of Swedish Tax Administration (Skatteforvaltningen), covering the applicant's place of residence at the time of birth. (If place of birth is unknown, apply for the birth record through 'Riksregistret' at the Swedish Tax Administration.) The complete version should state the applicant's date and place of birth, the names of both parents, their marital status and their date of marriage, if applicable. Just get the "personbevis" in english, with the stamps and signatures on it and that would be sufficient.
