Ladies, thanks for your support...I only cried at the hospital and now when i read the PMs I got. You should all be glad we communicate via computer because i don't cry pretty...like on tv..

I had a rough week and walking up and down two flights of stairs with two bags and a baby every day and having to shovel snow on wed. didn't help. I'd been spotting all week, but thursday night it was VERY heavy and prompted me to go the ER friday night.

god always has a master plan, so I'm trying to leave it in his hands. I have 2 other children i have to hold it down for right now. one of whom is teething.

JaEnglish, i'm not offended by anything u said at all.

ok so back to the regularly scheduled programing. because ya'll know i always seem to have a story

The same school that was giving me so much grief the other day. actually had the nerve to call me on friday at work to tell me. there was no afterschool that day. they called me at 4pm and wanted me to get there by 5pm, whatever. I got there at 5;45 but that ain't the story

yesterday on the way to pick up my kids(they were over a friends house) I stopped by the bank to cash a check to myself. I went to a bank in a differend neighorbood a lot more upscale than mine. so anyway, i go up the teller and present him the check. he asks me if i have an account with the bank. i said yes (in New York city, u can right out a check to CASH instead of putting someone's name in the to section of the check, so technically he may have not known that I was the owner of the account) i stated yes. he then said are u mrs jengles. i said yes he then asked me to swipe my bank card, no problem, he then asked for ID so he can right it down. now i'm sort of like huh, because if i just swiped my card and put in my pin, that should be all the id i need, but ok, show him my drivers liscence. then my boy looks at my account and asks me a question. i didn't hear him so he repeated the question 'the credit from xyz place is that your tax return?" i said no its my paycheck. then i asked him why did he ask me that, oh he wanted to make sure everything was alright with my account. his job is to make sure the funds are available in the account to cover the check i presented not to get into my personal business. and yes he was of another color. the black teller sitting next to him just kept on looking at him and laughing. my teller couldn't look at me in my face anymore.

On my way out, i kindly asked for his supervisor and spoke to one of the personal bankers who agreed with me that he had no business at all asking me that question and said she would speak to him.

Dyam Bright han houtta order! I would have said..."What are you jealous!!! Sweetheart, if you buss your behind the way I did and Do...one day that paycheck could be going into your account!!!" Oh, that's right black people can only get a large amount of money once a year...God forbid we actually WORK for it!!!!!!!

I get that all the time here on the Island...people automatically assume that I live or am from large minority neighborhoods! When I tell them where I do live (Upper class, white neighborhood)...you can see the question in their eyes "I didn't know any blacks lived there!" But what they say is 'Ohhhhh, very nice!'- With that fake -a$$ smile! The funny thing is My town used to be a the part of a huge plantation were the slaves lived! laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif I love to tell them my ancestors have been there for almost 500 years! ohmy.gif blink.gif blink.gif
(Is a dyam lie...but yuh doan knoa mi arready laughing.gif :l
ol: wink.gif )

Just hignore dem yah Jengy!
Love ya Chica,

Gill

You know that u are too funny! that was all i needed to finish off my week!

I got his at Knife-Depot.com. He HAD to have one of those stupid things. I will admit it has come in handy quite a few times.....usually yard work related.

Hey, anyone that has their SO's here and they cook, do they tend to pick the biggest knife you have in the kitchen to chop EVERYTHING? I am always amazed when I walk in and he's chopping onions with the meat cleaver.

yes.gif It scars the ####### outta me. I leave the kitchen when he's cutting pineapples, mango or even bread.

He always keeps knives in secret places around the house blink.gif I feel sorry for someone decides to break-in dead.gif

We have the machete right beside the bed. I pity anyone who tries to break in too.

DWL........JG, you sure you're not a born Jamaican? I have 2...one near the bed side and the other behind the sofa...so, mi sarry fi ene badi who tri fi crass mi

mine is behind my bed head, i was wondering how to sharpen it?

Jengles......I can't stop thinking about you this weekend. I'm at a loss for words.......Just know I've been thinking about you and praying for whatever you need right now. Hold those children tight and remember just how blessed you are!

Those people who are bothering you are just making you a stronger person. Ignore their stupidity!

As far as Andre's sister........The taxi she was riding in dropped off the rest of the kids in the car at their respective stops, took a detour, and he raped her at knifepoint. We feel horrible. As much attitude as this child has sometimes, she's the sweetest girl. In my eyes, a little girl. How someone could do this to her, makes me spitting mad. If I had a machete in the vacinity of this guy, I would use it to ensure he would never BE ABLE to do this to another little girl again.

They went to the police and the hospital. Hopefully, he will be caught in the end and dealt with accordingly.

thanks JG,

that poor child, she must be so tramatized right now. I hope they catch the lowlife that did this and that andre's family gets a few licks in, before he gets locked away.

JG -

The same thing happened to my little cousin. Same situation but, my cousin was only 13 years old. This use to happen a lot all over the island, when taxis became the main source of transportation for most pople. A taxi driver picked up a group of kids, she was the last stop...he told her he was going to pick up his daughter and he detour and raped her. This was a guy that she knew and everyone else in the neigborhood knew. It took the entire Duncans and Clarks Town police force to rescue him from our family. The FRIGGED up part, my little cousin got pregnant. I don't know what the EDIOTS did at the hospital in Falmouth, but apparently they didn't do what they needed to. She lost the baby a few months later. It's almost 8 years later and she's just out there (even though she's an adult now)... I think this ATTACK affected her in the worse way and understandable so. My advice, get her into counseling early. But like I know most young Jamaican women she's will refuse it. My cousin I think is 21 now and she's getting ready to deliver baby number 3.

I'm with you on using the machete. I'm sure this guy has done it before. The guy that raped my cousin was having sex with a lot of the girls he picked up. Sad, but a lot of school age girls love to see a man with a car and money.

everyone knew him and he thought he would get a way with it.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2008 when...

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that
they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if
anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

7 Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the
screen.

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the
first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn
around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )

12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this
message.

14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on
this list

AND NOW YOU ARE LAUGHING at yourself.

I laced her, then she says she didn't call me for it to turn confrontational. whatever, if u don't start nothing, won't be nothing.

okay, so like i stated yesterday, i was 45 minutes late in picking up my son, due to the snowstorm. gave myself an extra 10 minutes to get to the school. I get there and one other child is there besides my son. before that i'm in the car thinking i don't have a number for the school after 4pm. the secretaries go home, so i could call them and let them know i'm on my way. i get there sign a form saying i owe $10.00 for picking him up late. i had no problem doing that.

the school secretary calls me this morning. stating that the people in the afterschool program "have other things to do after 6:30" and they should have taken my son to the precint (but no yah not because they don't have cars and don't want to have to go there and then go home) and she's "not concerned about me, but those on her staff" I mean really. I hate it when people want to throw remarks at me, then they get upset when I give it back. If u can give it, then take it point blank. Why does everyone want to be cute. if she had stuck to the facts it would have been cool. the facts were simple. I arrived late and they had no number to contact me (or so they claim but they didn't call the house or my job, which is what they should have done) at his old school i would come home and their number would be on my caller id.) and I had no number to contact them. Someone from the school called me back after we hung up on each other and gave me the teacher's cellphone numbers. I shouldn't have their personal cellphone numbers. the school should leave the office open, or maybe it's just me.

just a little pissed

laughing.gif plus, nuff of the companies don't give hurricane days, like there are snow days up north. If a hurricane come through and you are unable to work, there is a strong possibility that if you want to be paid, you have to choose these days as vacation days. It was such an uproar with Hurricane Wilma which had most of us out of work for a week when some government workers had to use their vacation days to cover the days missed. So sad!

now that is sad, the hurricanes down there are severe...they should give u guys the time. I work in manhattan...in may snow but it will hardly ever stick...the best u can do is work from home...which i mentioned to my boss today...it is very fustrating...sometimes there is a light dusting of snow in manhattan then u come to brooklyn and there is 6 inches...and u go to where Gill lives and say there will by 8 inches....Kimmy will get a foot...lol. the more buildings the less snow because of the heat from the sidewalk...

How did this woman get my number? and she "marsh has a new baby on the way he will never love you how he loves me"
now, let it be known she is very loose. I do not think he has cheated on me. BUT..how did she get my number?? AND she made reference to something personal he and I did..how could she possibly know that?
Guys, I dont know what to do!

How do you KNOW he has almost no contact with her?
One possible explanation is that she went through his phone, but if he has no contact with her hmmm...

I would ask him. And listen VERY carefully to how he answers and what his 'theory' is....

Lord, help me! Literally. I dont KNOW. but I dont think he does. I will let you guys know.
Thanks for the prayers. I need them.

you have gotten good advice...and for all u know someone gave her your number. I know I'm in mr jengles phone like three times under wifey and babes etc.... so it would be real easy to get a number for me. just ask...you know your husband and i'm sure know when he fumbling. and if she call again...just mention two words "DNA TEST" hmmm it's a real popular subject today.

Hello Yardies -

Gil - I may have some experience with this same situation.

Henry brought the wrong birth certificate to his K1 interview - it was a copy and not the original with the gold seal. They denied him. I was furious - completely furious. I must have spent $100 on phone cards - I kept calling the embassy until finally I got through to someone and explained the situation to them. I was like "he lives about 4 hours away and he's on his way home to get it right now, he can be back in the morning". It was funny though - she knew exactly who he was. So, long story short, she gave me a ladies name for him to ask for at the gate. He went back the next morning and asked the guard for the woman and she came out and it was all taken care of.

It was such a stressful day - I broke down in tears from all of the emotions I was going through.

If that's the case. I would have ken go and tell them that whatever agency u spoke to this morning, advised u not to reschedule the case, have him show a reciept for the new certificate he's about to order and tell them he was advised to get a blue slip and go from there. He might have to show them he's ahead of the game. so they don't deny him.

yup...make sure you tell him who you spoke with and if she has a id number because sometimes they give that out so that when he tells them he has that info as well so they don't think he is making it up!!!

and if u didn't get that person ID number this morning, call back and get the id number of the person u are about to speak to and just put the two together devil.gif devil.gif

The worst part is the bloody certificate won't even be valid in the eyes of th US gov't because it was issued too late AFTER the birth of the child! However, the 202# advised me NOT to go without it! Both visas could be denied...K1 & K2!

Are any of you that filed a K-1 familiar with how to reschedule an interview appointment? crying.gif crying.gif I know I probably won't get anything else in March...but hopefully April!

I am so LIVID right now I just can't speak! The Jamaican system is so F-ed up...only the mother can pick up the birth certificate! Although Ken is the one that filed all the papers and paid all the fees to get it!

Mi seh deh bloodcl**t ooman is suh dyam careless!! She lose hevery claating ting!.

SURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPS *lang dutty disgusted kissteet*

Thanks for whatever info you can give.

I know Kimmy reschedule Kashi's appt last year. so she's probably the best source right now.

U sure the baby mother want her son fi come??

Who told you only the mother can go pick up the birth papers? Andre's mom went and picked up some for her Grandson.

Yah, I am wondering if the babymama isn't playing a little game too.

Yes, you can reschedule. Just call them.

Sorry, Gill. I hope you get it all worked out.

right,, just remembered...mr jengles added his name to his daughter's and they were supposed to mail it back to him....

Brownie & Jengy,

Nuh tink mi neva tink bout dat! All I have to say is this ooman don't want fi start wid nuh phockery righta now! She and her JP signed a form giving Ken permission to take KJ to the US and gave him full custody! Suh deh time fuh back peddling is DONE!!

I don't know if it was Ken mentioning the DNA test dat mek she misplace deh sittin...but like Bob says...'Time will tell!'

Bless,
Gill
P.S.- I just called the 202 # again and she said DO NOT RESCHEDULE the appt. Because by the time Kingston gets word it may look like no-show and that will look bad! She said that KJ has a year to come on the K2 and Ken has 6 months after his visa is approved to get here...suh it may delay his arrival...but mi still a push through!

Ok, so then u go the interview and get a blue slip...for more info required. could be the dna..and she doesn't want to be found out.

Tell them you'll get a letter from him authorizing you to pick it up signed by a JP in Jamaica....That might just work!!

Hey Guys good morning to you all. Have not been on-line a lot these past few days. Been working like crazy and trying not to obsess about Mike's RFE. Waiting for the new one to come in the mail from him. I am trying my best to stay away from VJ, because it is like an obsession and I get more and more depressed when I log on and see people getting their interview dates and having their interviews and I am stuck waiting to reply to the RFE.

Mind you, I am very happy and supportive of all who have had progress with their cases, but at the same time I am a little down in the dumps cause I miss Mike so much and I'm not trying to plan a trip to see him. I am trying to conserve my funds because I know that when he comes, it's gonna take a while for him to get used to the place and find a job.

I love you all so much and that you for all the sincere support that all have proveded in one way or the other.

Sorry for the vent.

Claire - nuh fret, your time soon come. I never told you all this (I wish I found VJ before I made this decision), I had used a lawyer when I filed for Aaron and my dear, you wouldn't want to see the emails I would send their a$$e$. Clarien - Ugh, girl when it happens you are going to forget all this because that happy feeling is going to be overwhelming.

I was at a birthday party last night and we had the grammy going on in two rooms. One room had a large screen tv and the other room had a analog tv. So we heard Aretha next then all of a sudden we heard this groan from everyone in the big room and then 15 seconds later it was mimiced by everyone in the small room. She looked a hot mess. That dark eyeshadow was horrible. I'm not going to comment on the dress, but whoever her stylist is. needs to be shot.

I was going down in the fall when the fares were CHEAP and would do a three days but couldn't be bothered with driving all the way to Ochi.

I have never been to Evita's, but I had my wedding dinner @ Spring Garden Cafe. The food is great! The number is 795-3149. The restaurant is about a 5-minute drive from Evita's.

mrs. scott u are a gem. I wanted to post about the seafood place I had dinner, but didn't want to say, its off the other end of main street to the right. lol when we went there was a private party at the outdoor side. it looked nice, but we ended up eating dinner inside.

Thanks for the information ladies. I may have to try out Spring Garden Cafe.

fo real lol im abt to check pittsburgh jobs now im on rent.com now checking tx again cheapest decent apt is like 399 the cheapest new single family home i found brand new is 88,000. history maker homes i hear they are a good builder now im struggling! and doin overtime all over again as our bills are slightly higher since i cook more now smile.gif instead of eating out and we wash alot two tvs always going as i have to watch my tivo

Now all the Pittsburgh locals are going to wonder what the hell is happening with all the VJ Yardies moving in laughing.gif
I am so open to moving out of FL. I just want hubby to be a little more established, finish his degree and for me to get my certification and get the heck out of here. It too expensive, man mad.gif

What are the new home prices like in south florida? i just spoke to my girlfriend in tx and she just told me they have the highest property taxes! so i cant win can i. maybe ill just end up in the ATL maybe im gon pray on this but i did ask for a xfer at my job and they said no room at the inn so i have to wait till some folks leave we really want a tropical place trying to make a substitute for jamaica sad.gif florida or cali would be great but cali is higher than NJ

They run a full range; the median home price up to December 2007 was north of $200k. There are condos for sale that start at $180k for 1/1. Of course, we are starting to see an increase inventory of foreclosures. Shoot, I keep thinking that's the way Aaron and I are going to buy a house.

I concur....would most def buy a foreclosure...that is where u get the most for your money. call the local bank and ask them for their foreclosure list, that way, u can see what is there before it hits the market. there is a better word than foreclosure list. but for the life of me i can't remember the official name of the department.

I couldn't move to cali, too far from the east cost, where the family is. People are talking about north florida, and the tampa area. anyone no something about the home prices there. I've been thinking about moving to queens, in nyc because i'm sick and tired of apartment living, I want a house with a backyard.
