He was questioning Brad about all the trips I've done (for work) since we moved in together 18 months ago. He WAS living with me during those times, but I am out the door every other week. Back in the olden days, I guess we would give our husband an "itinerary" and hotel contact numbers. But in this age of International cell phone, he just picks up his phone and speed dials me! he frankly didn't even need to know which far off land I was working in! Add to that, when someone hasn't been ANYWHERE in the world, places get confusing! He knew I was in Rome, but not in Italy! My poor sweet baby.

the interviewer wouldn't accept Rome as an answer?

they did ask mr jengles for my times and months, but at least you are being given another chance. It seems like next time, you are going to have to make sure your husband is overly prepared.

What can an immigration lawyer do at this point? If the paperwork says come back in six months then you weren't outright denied. It is a very fustrating.

So what happens you have to file the I-485 again.

Jengles....are you talking about visiting the Mr. in Jamaica?

NYC is talking about trips she made out of the country for work. She works on photo shoots. Her fiance (now husband) did not go with her, nor was he here living with her.

And, I'm guessing maybe you made some since the wedding, NYC? That was the 10 day question from the interviewer?

Honestly, if Andre were not with me on those trips, he would have no clue as to information. Even if I told him, he would forget.

Yup,

didn't realize when she made the post that it was for AOS and he wasn't here for any of those trips. Agree even mr jengles would forget. Like I said before, have to be overly prepared next time.

after 2 days of attempting to get his learners permit. mr jengles finally got thru..this is when it helps to know the law...in nys u can get a license without having a social securty card. All u need is a letter from SS stating that your visa is ineligible for you to recieve a SS number, plus six points of identification (i.e. passport, health card etc)

Yesterday even though he had two letters from SS. They made him go to a SS office they were "familiar with" then it had be a certain form. They lady at there SS office basically gave him the same letter. Today they pulled him out of the test room to review the letter again. But they couldn't find fault with the letter and he had his six points.

I was just talking to the intern in our office today and saying how she should keep going to her masters cause you lose momentum when you take to many years off after your bachelors. I won't think of that stress til hubby is here though. i'm gonna need some serious support for the MFA program.

What will you do with that degree, design buildings?? Please forgive my ignorance!

Exactly. I actually specialize in Interior Architecture. I graduated a few years back with BA now I want a fine arts degree in architecture. Jamaica is a great place to do business in, cause of course there is always construction going on.

WEll, now he is requesting a copy of the I130 and some info on my husband "so he can be prepared when he contacts the department of homeland security"
What does this mean? Does this mean he is trying to expedite it??? (one can only hope!!!!)

I thought I would see what yall think!!
Thanks!

If there was a way, I could move into teaching without taking a paycut, I would be all over it. I think it's great for people who have kids.

yes.gif I agree Jengles!

I am going for a MA/PhD. in Secondary/Higher Ed Counseling. I got a MBA because I was working at a college that allowed you to earn a Masters for free! So, I took advantage of it thinking I would go back into business when I completed it! I then fell in love with Higher Education Advisement and applying for positions w/i Higher Ed w/an MBA gets me this kindda look blink.gif blink.gif ...so my present school offers a MA in Secondary/Higher Ed Counselling for free so again, I figured might as well take advantage. Although Ken wants me to take advantage of their Law School, but that's just WAAAAAYYY too much work and NOT free...ATALL!! no0pb.gif

So Jengs, what is your Masters going to be in? Are you almost done? Hang in...it soon come!! good.gif

i went to JA over Thanksgiving Break and had a GREAT time.
This weekend I had some friends over and we were watching the movie "Waitress" which suddenly reminded me that that morning I had a dream that I was 8 days pregnant. I told my friends and we were all like, 8 days..hahah how specific, how weird" until one friend was really quiet and said "you came back from JA 8 days ago today... WEIRD
THEN
Sunday at church a good friend came to me and said "I had a dream you had a baby and needed me to babysit - I wanted to call you immediately but you were out of town..it was such a real dream" This friend had no clue about the dream....
A little weird, dont ya think ladies??
Let me state: I have not been trying to get pregnant or have not talked about it so it isnt like it should be on anyone's mind...

Do u feel like you should be taking a pregnancy test, because we want to know?? good.gif

Donna and I are now married. We went to the courthouse last week.

At the SS office we found out that Donna needs an I-94. The I-94 was not given to her when she entered the country. I've read a lot on this and I'm still not sure of the next steps to take. I've read that SS will not except an out of date I-94. (We married a couple of days before the 90 days was up on the K-1 visa). Can the I-485 be submitted without this information at this time? My wife is ready to start working. Please advise.

same thing happened to hubby, but he went back to JA and got one on his re-entry. I think there is a process involved in getting an i-94, it might take a while. You can try going back to her point of re-entry, it basically means someone didn't do their job.

I think she is out of status on day 91 if the i-485 isn't filed, if you can't go back to her point of entry. I would suggest filling the i-485 without the i-94 info and letting them RFE you in the meantime and applying for the EAD, because on day 91 SS will not give her a social security number.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

There is no medical required on the K-1---if you AOS within a year--- cause it's all done beforehand. And, just sometimes they require the whole CS filled out vaccinations. I honestly believe it is cause they KNOW it all had to be done before he could even be issued the K-1 and are getting a little more lenient. Although, there are still those sticklers out there.

so the consulate calls me at home yesterday, looking for mr. jengles. I guess they don't get to take off american and jamaican holidays like the u.s. embassy in kingston does. I said to her isn't the passport supposed to be on its way to kingston, here this..she wants to know the circumstances behind it. I said he lost his passport at the airport and it was returned to your office. she says Well, how did he get to J.A.. At this point I'm thinking a what di rass is going on here. I said your office gave him a travel document. She's like Oh!!!!. I just came out and asked her what day is the passport going to be in J.A. She tells me Wed. this week. I had the sense to ask her, for the number to the passport office and a contact name he can ask for. Lucky for me. I told mr jengles to go the passport office late this week, never gave him an exact day because I'm starting to understand J.A. a little bit.

but my girl sat on the passport after is was given to her last week, because she wanted to know the circumstances behind how it was lost. They have a police report on file at the consulate about this same passport. and she a call mi.

why can't people understand that all i want to do is go to Disneyworld!!! *sigh* *cha*

I'm just trying to let it all roll off my back, when she called i was in front of the computer trying to plan a trip to disney. all i could do is text mr jengles the person's name and number. i didn't even tell him what it was for.lol. when i spoke to him, he's like um, who is ms gordon and why am i to call her. if they had said next week i would have been upset.

the man gave her the passport last week, with instructions to send it down to JA, he told me he was going to be out of the office, which is why he was giving it to someone else. but she had to get the full one hundred from me, before she did anything with it. i mean really.

Well...

Not to put a damper on things but I really wanted/need to get this out...

A and I had a counseling session last night after a no contact separation (we have been living separate since last May but still in contact) for the last 30 days - sort of a last ditch attempt for him to realize the severity of it all. As much heartbreak and pain as this decision has caused me it has been decided that we will be filing for divorce sad.gif Never in a million years did I think this would happen to me. crying.gif After attempting to work on our marriage for almost 2 years and to still be in square 1 with little to no progress...well there is only so much one person can do. I feel like I did everything I could to save our marriage and I did it with integrity. So as much as my heart hurts I know that it was a necessary decision at this stage in everything and there is no uncertainty in the decision. I am at peace with it as hard and heartbreaking as it is. I am not going to go into too many details here on the public forum but I wanted you all to know what was happening. I am not sure what is going to happen with the whole removing of conditions...I don't even want to think about that right now. So anyways...thank you for all the love, support and prayers, I know a lot of you were rooting for our marriage to pull through. Please keep the whole situation in your prayers. It is definitely one of the worst times in my life.

Oh ((((((((((((((((((Jams))))))))))))))),

I'm so sorry to hear. Chica...I KNOW YOU TRIED!!!! Sweetheart, as you already know a marriage must be a 'we' effort not an 'I'. As always you are in my prayers.

Love you Jams and I am always here & rooting for you!

Bless,
Gill

Mrs. English...u still no ansah mi yet bout takin my wedding pictures. My co-worker has 2 PT cruisers I've driven them several times since 2002 and I like the ride. I just don't like DOMESTIC cars. It has a lot of room and it does very WELL in the snow (I've had to drive her home several times)...she's afraid to drive in the snow. And well, you live in MD so you know about 495. The Beetle (my dad is a mechanic)...he calls VWs disposable cars. I'm a SUV/minivan mom. So, go with the PT (my co-worker) has never had any problems. She lives in Clarksburg, Maryland and drives to work (in DC) everyday. That's a lot of mileage. Her husband drives the other one and he works even further (in Lorton).

I would LOVE to lol!!!

Done a few weddings before (well TWO!), loved doing them soooo much!!
Here's a link to them http://s64.photobuck...raphy/Weddings/

I love our SUV, but my husband raises hell each time I drive it, can't be bothered wid him cussing, suh mi seh mek mi mek haste and get mi own!!

He says I can't get another truck because of the gas consumption...grrrrr

I am definitely looking harder at the PT cruiser with all these positive comments!!

Those pictures are beautiful. I had to go back and look again cause on first pass, all I could think of was how painfully sunburned those people on the beach looked. I'm cringing just thinking about it.

those pictures look very nice

You guys are just the best! I love you all.

We talked to her last night. She's okay. She isn't sure if she wants to go back to school which breaks my heart cause she was so close to graduating. But, at this point, it's still so fresh, and I do understand. I told them we were finding out some counseling services she might use and both her and Andre's mom said they would look into it. So, thanks for all the info. so far. Keep it coming and I'll keep passing it on.

Well, while I am being a downer, I'll get this over with....After today, I won't be around for at least a few days. Having a minor outpatient surgery tomorrow morning. Shouldn't really hamper me for long, although I'll be knocked out on some antibiotics and pain pills. My husband is taking care of me the next two days (God, help me!!!) and I'll be on bed rest a few more days after that. I'm sure I'll be checking back in on the weekend....try not to say too much so I can keep up.....ha ha!

Geeeeezzzzzz.....hubby just called. You'd think I haven't just seen him a half hour ago....he was very chatty. I must be making him nervous.

There, I'm done. Let's talk some cheerful talk.

Hey, Tonisha........how's the process going?

I still have NOT received my interview letter from the Embassy. Ken & KJ's medical is next week!! He needs the letter to do the medical!

What now?? Has anyone else been in a similar prediciment? Calling 202 # & Embassy#...to no avail! I will keep trying!
Any other ideas?? WHY DO THEY HAVE TO MAKE IT SO DYAM DIFFICULT!!!? crying.gif crying.gif

Bless,
Gill

Is it possible for him to make an appointment to go to the embassy and pick up a copy?

I'm so sorry Gil. Yes, they make it extrememly difficult.

Keep in mind....yesterday was probably an embassy holiday. So, yes, keep trying to call.

While I also might understand why she might not want to go back to school, but now is the time for her to go. If she doesn't do it now, she's not going to go back and end up being the oldest one in the class and all that. Is there any way someone can meet her at the school and come home with her? If she ends up at home with nothing to do, it might get her depressed.

reading about all this hurts...it does make u wonder what is Ja coming too. when i was there last may. i had two of my step daughters with me plus my son. and a woman from the market came up to me and told me to watch them. which of course i was, their both under 10. then she started with how taxi drivers tek them and rape them. i was like not in ja.

Gill is on the right track, refer her to counseling or if possible have them contact her. she will probably need postive reinforcement asap.

Ladies, thanks for your support...I only cried at the hospital and now when i read the PMs I got. You should all be glad we communicate via computer because i don't cry pretty...like on tv..

I had a rough week and walking up and down two flights of stairs with two bags and a baby every day and having to shovel snow on wed. didn't help. I'd been spotting all week, but thursday night it was VERY heavy and prompted me to go the ER friday night.

god always has a master plan, so I'm trying to leave it in his hands. I have 2 other children i have to hold it down for right now. one of whom is teething.

JaEnglish, i'm not offended by anything u said at all.

ok so back to the regularly scheduled programing. because ya'll know i always seem to have a story

The same school that was giving me so much grief the other day. actually had the nerve to call me on friday at work to tell me. there was no afterschool that day. they called me at 4pm and wanted me to get there by 5pm, whatever. I got there at 5;45 but that ain't the story

yesterday on the way to pick up my kids(they were over a friends house) I stopped by the bank to cash a check to myself. I went to a bank in a differend neighorbood a lot more upscale than mine. so anyway, i go up the teller and present him the check. he asks me if i have an account with the bank. i said yes (in New York city, u can right out a check to CASH instead of putting someone's name in the to section of the check, so technically he may have not known that I was the owner of the account) i stated yes. he then said are u mrs jengles. i said yes he then asked me to swipe my bank card, no problem, he then asked for ID so he can right it down. now i'm sort of like huh, because if i just swiped my card and put in my pin, that should be all the id i need, but ok, show him my drivers liscence. then my boy looks at my account and asks me a question. i didn't hear him so he repeated the question 'the credit from xyz place is that your tax return?" i said no its my paycheck. then i asked him why did he ask me that, oh he wanted to make sure everything was alright with my account. his job is to make sure the funds are available in the account to cover the check i presented not to get into my personal business. and yes he was of another color. the black teller sitting next to him just kept on looking at him and laughing. my teller couldn't look at me in my face anymore.

On my way out, i kindly asked for his supervisor and spoke to one of the personal bankers who agreed with me that he had no business at all asking me that question and said she would speak to him.

Dyam Bright han houtta order! I would have said..."What are you jealous!!! Sweetheart, if you buss your behind the way I did and Do...one day that paycheck could be going into your account!!!" Oh, that's right black people can only get a large amount of money once a year...God forbid we actually WORK for it!!!!!!!

I get that all the time here on the Island...people automatically assume that I live or am from large minority neighborhoods! When I tell them where I do live (Upper class, white neighborhood)...you can see the question in their eyes "I didn't know any blacks lived there!" But what they say is 'Ohhhhh, very nice!'- With that fake -a$$ smile! The funny thing is My town used to be a the part of a huge plantation were the slaves lived! laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif I love to tell them my ancestors have been there for almost 500 years! ohmy.gif blink.gif blink.gif
(Is a dyam lie...but yuh doan knoa mi arready laughing.gif :l
ol: wink.gif )

Just hignore dem yah Jengy!
Love ya Chica,

Gill

You know that u are too funny! that was all i needed to finish off my week!

I got his at Knife-Depot.com. He HAD to have one of those stupid things. I will admit it has come in handy quite a few times.....usually yard work related.

Hey, anyone that has their SO's here and they cook, do they tend to pick the biggest knife you have in the kitchen to chop EVERYTHING? I am always amazed when I walk in and he's chopping onions with the meat cleaver.

yes.gif It scars the ####### outta me. I leave the kitchen when he's cutting pineapples, mango or even bread.

He always keeps knives in secret places around the house blink.gif I feel sorry for someone decides to break-in dead.gif
