I think you can fill out your visa application with your new name. But mostly importantly in order to get your visa and subsequently your green in your married name, you need to change your passport right away to reflect the married name, as the visa and green will be issued in any name that is in passport.

Congratulations dyno!! I recommend you go through cuban cr1 profiles- other USC have written embasy reviews that include what to expect, what to bring, what questions were asked. It can be a bit tedious, but if is very helpful to hear from others who have gone through this before you. . .

usually, the co-sponser or joint sponser is someone your wife knows.

She needs to file the I-864 , as she's the primary sponser, even to show 0 income.

She really needs to engage folk that she knows, friends, relatives, etc., and have that conversation with them.

belive me she ask all pepole she know but some pepole want to help but there incoming is less than 30.000 dollar year
and some other didnt want to help
if there chance for lowyers to help to do that and they get paid ?

ir1 or i 130

You will be eligible to IR1 Visa as u have been married for 3 years .... IR1 Gives you 10 years green card while CR1 gives you 2 years green card and then one must remove conditions before their 2nd anniversary ( which don't apply on you )

I130 is the form you fill and send to USCIS to be approved and get the IR1 visa

Hi Everyone.

We are about to send in our Petition. What did everybody use for their proof of meeting in person within the 2 years of filing?

Our issue is that we don't have much proof besides Photos. We lived together from February 2013 till September 2013 and now i am back in Germany. I have letter from the post office with the change of adresse confirmation but i am not quite sure if that would be enough do you have any suggestions?

I used all our conversations we had on Yahoo Messenger, Whatsapp, Facebook, photos together with his family, hotel receipts, ticket stubs from boarding passes, luggage tags, etc. I hope this helps

I have a question....

My husband has W2 form(3 years), Employment letter and recent pay stubs.
He doesn't have Federal income tax return form.... is it enough without it?

It takes just over a week to get an IRS return transcript by mail from the IRS. Your husband can order it here http://www.irs.gov/i...=232168,00.html. As of right now the order form appears to be down, but it was working yesterday and will probably be working tomorrow.

Thank you Dave & Darnell for your help! It was just negligence that led to me not filing taxes. I'll look at the IRS website - I should be able to file back taxes by myself? Or I could go to my family tax advisor...

My husband and I are filing for his i-130, i-485 and i-765 concurrently. We met while he was on his tourist visa (due to expire in February :/). I might've posted this question in the wrong spot, sorry!

I'm guessing it will probably be hard for me to prove to the government that I can support my husband, considering my unreliable work history and current lack of income. I wonder if getting two joint sponsors would help our case?

I have a small amount of assets (savings) and was curious if his family/friends sent us money, it could count towards our overall case.

Or perhaps I'm optimistic and bound for disappointment!

How do I file form I-864 if I am unemployed and have no previous tax returns?

I'm filing on behalf of my spouse. I'm currently unemployed with technically $0 income. I'm 21 years old and I studied abroad from 18-20 years (working part time concurrently). I returned to the US last year, and only worked for 6 months. Since then, I have been unemployed. I have never filed a tax return in the United States. I don't know how to access my W2's from my very brief employment. How do I explain this to the USCIS and fill out form I-864? I am planning to have a joint sponsor in order to prove I can support my spouse. I'm just concerned about my lack of tax reports.

I got to section 6 on the i-864:
Question# 22. I am currently unemployed since 03/2012.
23. My current annual income is $0.00.
24. Income I'm using from any other member of my household - None.

When I get to question 24 d) and e) ask about the person listed above filing a completed i-864a, but I don't need to check either box because I answered 'none,' right?

then question 25 - federal income tax return information is currently completely blank because I cannot fill it out. I have not reported my income for any of the last 3 years :/

Planning to spend Holidays with my husband in the US, What should I do?

Because my husband spent Easter with us, here in Portugal, we were thinking about me travel there, to the US, for the holidays and for the wedding of one of my brother-in-laws (i already missed one wedding).
But as we have the I-130 going on, since April, what should i do? Should i request some kind of special non immigrant visa and the american embassy? Or just go with the ESTA (tourist visa)?

I am also in this situation, my husbands I 130 is processing, but I was thinking if he could still apply for something to come here to US for like the Holidays

I'm not sure if it's because the U.S.C. in Naples is so good at their job or they don't process large loads of visas, but I must say the Naples embassy was outstanding. My fiance says they treated her very well and the process was easy and smooth (although she was very nervous at the beginning! That's normal in the process though )

Honestly, I think we've gotten lucky with how smooth the process went. Her interview was the 16th, and the consulate processed the visa and shipped it out at 7pm on the day of the interview and it arrived this morning at my fiance's house before she even returned from Naples. Which itself is a miracle considering the Italian postal service has a reputation for being slow at times!

Anyways, we'll write a review in the Italian portal for any Italian may filers out there (or May filers in general).
