Does anyone have any experience about a crewmen's visa's?? I friend of mine is married to someone who came off of a cruise ship. he was told that he could never get an AOS because of the type of Visa he had...but can he file an I-130. He is here and doesn't want to go home for her to file, because that could trigger a ban. He knows of someone who also came off his ship who has successfully gotten his greencard through marriage, so we know there is a way, just not sure how.

thanks

Jengles, if she is a USC, they can file an I-130 to adjust status - just make sure he doesn't leave the US before they are approved:

I hope so too, but look at the bright side, you will lose a few lbs.

Posting this early because I won't have access to a computer. My dads whole family (all 40 something of us) are staying at a hotel tonight to celebrate family. They have traveled from as far a Japan! My Grandmother is in stage 4 of lung and bone cancer and she wanted one last full weekend of partying while she is strong enough. Last night she hosted a dinner for all of us and it was a blast! I love being able to see everyone. And my Grandmother is a huge inspiration to me, she is in her late 70's and has the most postive attitude about her situation. She still volunteers at her church daily.

I wish everyone a great Easter and my prayers go out to each and everyone of us. We are all dealing with our own struggles but I have faith that we will overcome them! Because we have the support of each other! kicking.gif

Classy,

I am so happy that you are able to enjoy your grandmother. hope u guys continue to celebrate family!!

You can have benadryl for the itch. That is a protocol order for everyone on any epidural and they also put narcan in the iv fluids to stop your legs from getting too numg after giving birth good.gif

after i complained and pulled off the sensors, they gave me benadryl and said they couldn't give me too much since they didn't want the baby to become unresponsive...at that point mi nah lie, i was like forget about the baby, if i'm not feeling right i'm not pushing. but everytime i pushed the button the itch would get worse mad.gif in retrospect i should have asked for more benadryl after the labor, it would have helped a lot.

OK...what do we has women have o proove because some refuse to be in horrible pain for hours sometimes days like I was...cvan u imagine if i took no meds PLEASE!!...ppl say did u have her naturally or with drugs...ok when since any birth is not natural..why put urself and UR PRECIOUS BABY in labor to prove something to society or is it "braggin rights" please mi no agree wid dat eida and I WILL be taking drugs again God's willing and no matter how it come out it natural....AMERICA !! a no like JA wah ppl affi worry bout paying fi this meds or back in the day when there was none...

to each his own.

i'm allergic to whatever is in the epidural but i was still pressing that button, but that is me. a friend of mine delivered her three kids without meds. i looked at her in awe

ur absolutely right..but when it comes down to what is MORE natural that's where i'm like drugs or no drugs in natural...not everyone wants to take that risk..as some are thru before they can get the drug...

rofl.gif ..Jengs yuh too funny..wah happened u started iching or what ?

why can't that be me?? why is it the doctors all want to go home when i'm in labor and give me more drugs that hurt like hell, and i can't press the button that much cause it feels like....let's see as the drug is entering my system it feels like 1000 ants are running thru my body at this point they were supposed to give me benedryl thru the IV, but they didn't believe me. i had my son there so i figured it would be in my records. let's just say i gave birth to her at 2pm and at 8pm as i'm shivering from itching so much the nurse looks at me and says oh u really are allergic..no a lie mi tell.

Ok just read that the K-2, has to apply within one year of the K-1 anniversary issuance, so Gill is good.

It's a good question, Jengles. I had no idea. Here is what I found so far.

Following-to-Join Benefits
Please note: This section is only applicable to lawful permanent residents who did not gain their LPR status as the immediate relative of a U.S. citizen.
If you had children before you became a lawful permanent resident, and your children did not physically accompany you to the United States, and you would now like your children to join you in the United States, your children may be eligible for following-to-join benefits. This means that you do not have to submit a separate Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for your children, and your children will not have to wait any extra time for a visa number to become available. In this case, you can simply notify a U.S. consulate that you are a lawful permanent resident so that your children can apply for immigrant visas. If, however, you immigrated to the U.S. as an immediate relative of a U.S. citizen who did not or could not petition for your children, you will need to file a separate I-130, Petition for Alien Relative. In this case, see How Do I Bring My Child, Son or Daughter to Live in the U.S.?

So in other words, Gill would have to hope he gets an interview before they get married or they are going to have to file an I-i30.

Ok, so what happens when u file an I-130 for everyone, the father and children and just the father comes up first . Can the children just come up?

Congrats Gill,

Very happy for u.

I have a question about KJ's Visa, he's getting a K-2, but when Gill and Ken get married he's out of status right? and then they file the AOS. At that point can KJ still get a K-2, because at that point Ken's K-1 is not valid anymore. and they would have to file the I-30. someone correct please if i'm wrong.

Guess WHAT!

I got an appointment to drop of the DS-230 @ 12:30 on 4/10/08. I really think my girl is working with Ms. Cleo. E-mail from the embassy say he should get packet 3 by MONDAY!

JG -- I WAS DEPENDING ON snail mail

Should have and actually have are two different things in JA, Tre. And, that's if he goes and picks up his mail, right?

Wouldn't it be funny if he got it and then decided to play you and not tell you for a while? I would crack up.

I would crack up too,

just venting a bit..

My next proposal..

will NOT be an agreement between me and my man, it will be something that he has stressed about prayed about and put some thought into, i don't need him to be down on one knee or anything but DANG put some effort into it..

I will think "I am sooo happy" not " its about f'ing time"

Everybody in my family will probably hve heard about it before me because he has a pretty good relationship w/ them

No matter how big or small the ring is, it will be something HE picked out and purchased or financed or put on layaway or something (make it happen w/out my help)

He won't be too proud or insecure or afraid or ashamed to tell me WHY he wants me to be his wife, he won't be able to help himself..

will not be my man's last resort to keep me in his life, but a consequence of him realizing he NEEDS me in his life..

you saying u want a redo?? lol

Nothing Lawny would eat surprises me anymore, she reminds me of my grandfather. I remember the day i opened the freezer door and saw a goat's ####### in the freezer. I just calmly closed the door and threw the memory in that repressed memories section of my brain.

I remember jellybeans shoes and jackets. I had them back in elementary school. I always wonder how in the world I wore a rubber jacket and shoes in the summertime. I was a child, that's all I can say. lol

I loved the Jellie pocketbooks...had about 2-4 of them! laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif

Oh my, I don't recall the pocketbooks.. Now Gilli, you were a little too fancy. lol

Tell me what style you have, Sunny.

I'm kind of debating whether to get the Alice style or not.

I want to try them so bad. I just can't get over the relative ugliness of them. I have heard such wonderful things about them, though.
