You don't have to email them, just call DOS in about one week, they can tell you your interview date.  Then you can schedule your medical appointment.  Thanks for your advice. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	U.S. Embassy in Jamaica; 4-6 weeks to receive interview date for K1 Visa?	Listen we just got our interview date and it took a little over 2 weeks to get. It can take a long time but I would recommend scanning and emailing the DS320 to them once you get our kng number and follow up at least once a week. When I followed up with them I tried to be as polite as possible and that seemed to work. My fiancé got an interview date for the end of August. I truly believe keeping on top of them is key.   Thanks for your recommendation.  I did email the DS 230 after I received the kng number and thereafter received the email message acknowledging receipt of the document and stating that in 4-6 weeks the embassy would notify us of the interview date (unfortunately not stating that the actual interview date will be in 4-6 weeks from the date I emailed them).   In any event, I will, as you did--follow up on a weekly basis with a polite email requesting the interview date and pray and hope it takes them close to two weeks to recieve the interview date, rather than the 4-6 weeks they put in the email.   Keeping my fingers crossed!	tfsl	Not Telling	Jamaica	2013-07-28 02:28:00

I received a message from the Jamaica consulate saying that it would take 4-6 weeks after they've received my file to assign an interview date for the K1 Visa.    I was under the impression that it would not take that long to receive the interview date. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Getting ready for the interview	I really believe work letters, bank statements and paystubs are three things you want to take/send to the consulate with a more recent date. I would wait until maybe 2-3 weeks before the interview... you can get those fairly quickly and you can send scanned copies to your fiancé(e) in case you are the petitioner. K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	K3 filing	I filed an application for wife and my 3 years old son in Haiti years, I wasn't an American citizen at that time, the I-130 was approved, I became an American citizen in May of that year and decide to upgrade the case. I surprised to learn that I have to filed a separate I-130 for my 3 years old son, which means my wife will come before him. Paris Heart Hi Paris Heart, I understand the time issue with the baby thing, I too am in the 'over 35' bracket and realise that every month counts ..... and am worried that this waiting could make the difference between having a baby or not. I have considered contacting a Fertility Clinic and seeing if a letter from a Specialist would make VSC hurry up, as I know the clinic would want me on the books 'yesterday'! But am in 2 minds as to whether or not VSC would actually care, especially after reading that people were turned down for other expedites which were more pressing. But, reading your post has really reminded me that this is an issue, and I'm wondering if it may be worth a try. Maybe the person who gets the expedite request might understand the dilemma, and I think it may be worth you attempting it too. Well I hope that you will get an approval by september, but I have been waiting since july of 2007 at VSC. Just to give you an idea of the waiting. Nothing more than this. No touches received from any of my calls. (last touches were Feb. 4 and Feb. 10 I believe because I sent a change of address.) I have sent paperwork to my Senator Hillary Clinton, and they said they will make an inquiry, but they are backed up as well, so this could take some time. My congressman's office has been the most helpful. He called vermont using the congressional phone line and they told him that in 14 days we would hear something. 14 days past on Monday so he called again to make a expedited request, but they said to wait another 14 days before sending the request. So..........we wait again, and if by the 21st we have no answer(which I'm pretty sure we won't) they will send an expedited request which he said would put our case in front of others. I'm just wondering if anyone stuck in Vermont has seen any activity, touches, approvals, etc. For me no touches since feb. but I was told that my case is with an adjudicating officer now. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter." The letter was dated April 14th. And I think the key word there was "should". "should receive a decision" hahahahahahaah That is their easy way out in case i don't receive anything. Although it is nice to have something in writing. Lets see what happens. You might want to make sure that they are together next time you call. If both applications are not together, they might make you wait more. Dont let them though, make them stick to your received date, which is loooong overdue Got another touch today on the I130!!! That's 2 days in a row. Could it be that my case is moving along?? Hmm, yes if this is true, then there is still different treatment since California seems to be approving both of them at the same time and folks can continue on K-3 visa path. But maybe you're right and even if only I-130 will be moving forward, it isn't so bad considering progress at NVC. I've also started reading the short cuts (a few times) in order to be prepared, just in case we have to follow that path too. I received 2 touches in the last 2 days on my I130 but not on the I129F, which makes me a bit concerned. I really don't want to wait any longer by going the K1 route. I don't care about AOS on K3. Hope you will hear something soon if u have a touch. If u didnot try congressman etc give it a try. This July filer is feeling neglected . Dealing with the congressman already which I think has helped. He said to contact him at the end of this week if we still have no answer, and they will call Vermont again and put some more pressure on. I hope it won't be necessary, but most likely it will.
