not very big at all actually.....unless you take out the photos and pass those through...or have one of those much smaller and flexible albums the photo studio usually gives for free or really cheap you would have to make due w/ simply showing the photos to the interviewer from your side....which btw isn't an issueof any sort....works just as well. GL happy.gif

THANKS MUMTAZG38, Is it ok if i take them out of album and then hand them in envelop or by hand from window? how many should be ok to take i have my wedding pics from digital cam + alenora photo shot (medium album they have different size pics in them) ...

I am hoping u will be next to hear the gud news! InshaAllah good.gif Hang in there its abt to end!

To be honest, take as many as you like. In fact, take them all if you can manage it because one thing I certainly noticed was that (in my case especially) that photographic proof of the wedding, functions...family...couple photos, before and after the wedding....are really important and make quite an influence. Definitely make sure you take photos of the actual marriage/wedding photos...if you are already married that is (sorry can't remember whether you were in the K category or CR1/IR1 category) either way. Photos are darn good supporting evidence so do your best to take as many significant ones as you are able to IMO.

Good luck. happy.gif

also...a question on tickets......what is best price-wise guys....PIA(which our agent tells us is all booked up economy for travel anytime in december....and I don't know how much it would cost to get seats other than economy), etihad, emirates or basically any other airline with just one stop in between plz...I cannot travel for very long periods right now.....any suggestions?????????? oh yeah and also....what about those pesky transit visas...what do we do about those...how would we get them, how much would they cost us n how long does it take to get them......and would I need one too despite my blue passport???

I'm in Sialkot....we have speedex here...I'm assuming they'll call us from there. Mostly because my husband has a few good friends working their who are keeping a eye out for his passport to arrive...so hopefully we get the call soon.

But again....what does everyone think about the second part of my post? Hot or cold?:

REPOST:
"Going by the info on our spreadsheet I'm getting the feeling that the call to submit passport comes round-about a month from the interview and the day to pick up the passport comes 15-25 days after that....looking at the most recent (given) info about CR1's or IR1's in particular, that is...for example the people before Taj's (Kami and mzj). Although what puzzles me is Taj's case (which is the one right before ours) in which it has been 1 month and 18 days so far and no call...although they did take the passport at interview....so I get tempted to assume that in the next week or two (going by the recent spreadsheet info) she should be getting a call....what do you guys think???"

just curious......will we still be receiving a call from the embassy when our case is done even if they had taken the passport at interview? it just seems that people only get calls when they are required to send in their passports....was wondering whether we would still get a call from the embassy twice...once letting us know visa is ready and lastly telling us to pick it up? or will we not get any such call and have to call the embassy ourselves hoping upon every hope that someone nice picks up and lets us know?

Haha. The turkey is fine, but the only place in Sialkot that has turkey is Subway and they just opened a month ago. Pizza hut is different. They use Mozzarella from Buffaloes not from Cows. It is yellow in color and it is very hard and sticky. Also they barely put any sauce on their pizza. Same as Frangoz, barely any sauce. Yes, the Chalupas from Taco Bell is what I miss. And I want some Boston Market. There are no Papa Johns or Dominoes in Sialkot. We just got a McDonalds and Subway this past yr. They have a KFC but they shut down the whole building and now they take orders out of a small trailer and it takes about 20 min for 1 order. I wish we had more time to visit around in places like Lahore and Islamabad, but we never do. All I know is that there is a McDonalds in Lahore. I know nothing else. I have been to the zoo there and the Data Sahib Darbar. I am not bothered by Pakistan itself. I like being here. I just don't like the medical situation, and I miss my country's food. That's it. If they had all the same food and products here as in USA, I would never leave. I would deal with the medical issues. But, I really need some US food. We try to get similar things, but it is not easy. I want some doritos. LoL

OMG!! I'm living in Sialkot to....and damn you just took the words right outta my mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not paki that sucks.....it's the fact that I can't find decent u.s foods and products here...and trust me I've even tried lahore and islamabad....and nope, no decent spaghetti sauce even at Al Fateh! It simply sucks!!! I'm 6 1/2 months pregnant and desperately in need of the food I miss so much...little caesars pizza...or even dominos........and YESSSS DORITOS BABAYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;(

Alright....it's been 11 days now since AP.....I'm getting ready to call DOS on the coming Monday....which makes it over 15 days. I'm not too excited or too hopeful about it, but I assume I might as well call them soon even if it's just to hear "still pending". So I was hoping you guys could tell me what times (Paki time) to call to get the nicest operators, who, if there were any updates wouldn't hesitate on giving me them. Mainly because after the pathetic and bull sh1tty interview we had....I just need to hear a nicer person tell me about AP.....I just...need that. *shrugs*.

Oh yeh......and what's the number for DOS again?? blush.gif

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresbank that allows joint account without SSN
Joint bank account, that sounds like a good idea. Is there any chance I could get one for my husband in Pakistan? The only sort of id he has is his pakistani passport and ID. No SSN obviously, but I was wondering if I could use this as evidence of bonifide marriage you know? Would that work...is it even legal for a pakistani national to have a joint account with their spouse living in the usa? Any ideas on how one would go about it?

mumtaz, i agree with rahma...sorry i know you probably hate me already...but i did exactly what she did...i finished school and got through...every single criticism my parents and my family say about him and every single criticism his family says about me. if i stayed behind with my husband and begged someone to be our co sponsor just for the sake of staying and being together would not be very mature for us. we decided to marry which means the both of us can stand without any help. and the fact that i left my son and my husband alone to come to america and to work, be a nurse and be established here made our relationship stronger. yeah i could have filed through dcf and that would probably mean more time spent with my husband and my son but i was thinking of our FUTURE and not just thinking of the present so we can be together at that time.
i didnt mean to say that you are doubting your husband. alls im saying is when people say they might assume he is using you for the visa, dont act all defensive. he is not period...
and about being the woman not being able to work because pakistani women are not suppose to work and your father or husband is against it well that is your call...
i just wish you good luck

husbands not against it at all. Father is.

Also, I called the uscis and the rep told me that it would be okay if I attached an extra sheet of paper explaining the fact that i would prefer to use a different mailing address then my residence. She said it is very normal for filers to do this. She also said I should do the same about the fact that I am unemployed and dont have tax returns and the likes. I can attach a seperate sheet explaining my unemployment and lack of financial docs...I should add as many docs as i do have..and the rest should be taken care of by my joint sponsor. They are the one who will need to provide it as they will take on financial responsibility if i am not able....not that i wont be but that is how they would see it.

yes, the address i would like to use IS a us address, but it is a private mail box(not p.o. box) with a normal u.s address that will forward my mail to me as i receive it.

Would they use the return address on the packet? Let's just say it's for privacy reasons....what have you.

Yes, based on your family situation, it would appear the best solution is to go and live with your husband now. Then deal with the visa through DCF. What's the important thing, to be together or for him to be in the USA?

Do you think if I put my residential address in the i130 file and used a different return address that they would send me things at the address in the file or the return address on the packet/letter? Could I attach a note for them to use the return address?

asking you to get a job doesnt mean you are doing all the work or whatever, its just so you can have something to show for the AOS. that you are stable and you have a job. believe us when we say it is going to help and you guys really need it.
well mumtaz you have to get on your feet on this...you cant just be saying oh yeah my husband will do this and that...you are the petitioner which means it is your responsibility.if you really want your husband here then it means breaking out and getting your own life. if your parents want you to continue studying then good but you can still hold a job on the side. as for visiting him...i suggest you save that money.
if you have known each other for a while now even before you were married then it wouldn't be so hard to show your bona fide marriage. trust in your marriage, it seems to me you are having doubts that your hubby is using you for the visa?

okay...firstly. taj'samericanwife...you couldn't be more wrong honey, I've never had doubts about my husband, and he has never given me any reason to. If asking questions about this confusing process means that I have doubts about my husband then well why the heck are any of us here. It isn't right for you to assume something so vain just because I am trying to figure things out, and not mess things up rather. Also, you keep assuming that my issue lies with proving the bonifides of my marriage and you are wrong again. My main issue is the fact that I am unemployed but have a joint sponsor with 459.18% above FPL (Federal Poverty Level) and would like to use that to my benefit, rather than against me.

Let me clarify...I do not have doubts that I am being used for a visa. My husband has never given me any reason to think such a thing. I've known my husband for 17 years now and we've been best friends through thick and thin together..and personally I think he deserves a bit more credit...and sorry if it seems that I'm possibly over reacting or something...Hope that clarify some things.

QUOTE (brnidokiegurl @ Dec 29 2008, 06:55 AM)
start now still, get out of your parents house, learn life, get a job and you left everything you own with him. If its like Morocco he cant send money out to you. This family he can stay with, its his? because you said yours wont accept? Often already having connecting family here can become a prob at visa time. Maybe you just need go stay there since your not established long term here, if your old enough to travel there and marry your old enough to be on your own, making your own decisions not under your parents thumb and accepting their living help. Seems your going from one comfort of living with the parents to one (what you expect) another comfort of living under your husbands support.

Yes, I would love to get a job and leave my parents house....such a dream come true. But the fact is that I do not have any money to get an apartment/room or any place to stay, I don't know anyone who would be willing to take me in for even a short time. The moment I get a job, I am kicked out. Final...and it's happened quite enough for me to know they mean business. As a muslim women...my father believes I either live as he says....or live as my husband says. Seeing as I made the mistake to come back from Pakistan to my parents home thinking things had changed....now I am trapped. My father in-fact is having such a field-day with the fact that I must follow his tricky little rules now no matter what as I don't have any place else to go, sometimes I even think this is his sweet revenge of sorts. So, either his house, his rules (no women work, they just cook and clean and learn to sew and do proper feminine things and thats all), or husbands house, husbands rules in my fathers book. And here lies the irony my father seems to enjoy so much. I can't see my husband now that I am trapped here, can't get a job or they will make me leave the moment they find out, and can't defy any of his rules (or get caught trying), or will be thrown out again (yes, he has done it before). In order to leave my parents house and - break out- as some would say I would need a place to stay first...a room...an apartment, studio...somewhere. In order to get that...I need a job. Can't get a job because the moment I do something so vile....I'm out. I believe my father quite enjoys this actually...

So as you can see....or not...it's not as it seems. and no it's not the comfort thing thats the problem for me....it's the inability to do more than what I have at the moment. And what I have at the moment may be alot, but it's just not enough. So that's why I want to go to Pakistan with my husband...because for the time being it is the only other home I have....a home where I have complete and total freedom and can do as needs be to not only get this process taken care of, but to get out there and live, like you say.

Well...I can see by some responses that I have truly begun to get quite annoying with all these menial questions blush.gif. I think it's about time I just file already and get it started. Cause I'm just beating around the bush.....and thats just getting me to go in circles and get to no place at all. good.gif

Hi SunDrop......I suggest to check out my story on my profile?Help catch ya up a little. smile.gif

after reading and reading i think first you need to get a grip (sorry) it is going to take a while, you wont die without him, the rest of us havent that im aware of. You need income, get a good job so that you can show support, you dont have to have family involved, you can do it alone i am. Visit as much as u can but if your working that maybe a prob too. NVC goes quick you can send from there if you want to wait weeks between forms but mine took one month and one day from beginning to end not one month to get one form back to the states safely. You have a long life ahead of you together IF you do this right, some things just cant be changed or hurried.

Make a life here so he will have something to come to, we are alllllllllllll waiting, then we wait some more, and then we wait some more. What is more logical? to be there for maybe the next year waiting on the visa, come back together to what? no job no money no apartment or here working, getting a nice place to bring him to and you can show you can support the two of you until he gets established. Have you looked to see how much just the NVC part is going to cost you when the time does come? Have you got this saved already?

He already has something to come to, a well paying job waiting, a family to stay with and assets/money/property of his own plus a import/exporting business back home which he owns to help support himself...and yes he will still keep receiving the money from these things once here. On top of this, we already have around $1500 for when the time comes(as I left all my money and most of my jewelry with him in Pakistan... because I thought I would be coming back in a few months)....he will be sending me the amount as I need it. So basically once he is here he most-likely will be much better off then I, even if I did have a job. (not that I haven't tried getting one, what with no prior experience, no qualifications....just a ged...I seriously doubt I would get a $10/hour job, I have been quite unsuccessful at getting anything that pays more than half that. Not that I am picky about pay, but if that's the amount I would be needing for the aos...)On top of it all, as long as I am allowed to be living with my parents in their house (currently the only place I have to live) I am not allowed to work/ get a job. Mostly because my dad has a serious problem with women working menial jobs...anything other than doctor/lawyer I guess, like unless she's making boat-loads of cold hard cash. IDK why this is...cultural mind set I suppose....but my parents are dead set against my getting a job and going to work....they'd rather just have me cook and clean at home and not leave the house for anything. I wish I didn't have to abide by these utterly stupid rules...but for now this is all I can do. Hence why I need to be with my husband because it is the only place I can stay/live without all this filth. Basically there is no way in hell my parents will let me do anything I need/want without their complete approval and I feel like a child again...I'm too old for this, hence why I'm not fighting back. It's their house and it's nice enough of them to "try" to put their differences aside and pay for my education after every awful thing they "think" I did to them.

I think I will file i130 from here, wait for the noa1 and then takeoff to be with my husband and do everything from there...using the private mail box. I think it would be best. I do have a joint sponsor that is more than willing to file the aos for us and send in his financial information...I just hope my lack of financial docs/info won't be a problem. What if I got a bank account/checking account and used it for a month...putting money in taking it out stuff like that...getting a debit card and such. Could I use the statements as financial info? would that be enough on my side incl. the joint sponsors stuff?

I hope everyone isn't getting fed up with all of my questions.... blush.gif

well, if I used the DCF way then I'd have to wait another 6 months added to everything....thats pretty much edging towards 3 years.....which is a very long time. I too find it impeccably difficult being without my husband for too long but going the dcf way seems like it will take exactly that, too long. Wouldn't it be better if I just filed from here and used the private mail box address as mailing address and then took care of the rest overseas? I could get all of my things together...and/or mailed to me when I'm there and leave for Pakistan. Then while I'm there couldn't I just mail everything back and forth to the nvc, using my private mail box service/address? It's not like I have to physically be at the nvc for anything...is it, or that they would think I'm living in Pakistan and using the wrong visa or something, because I wouldnt be...I'd still technically be a resident of / be living in the U.S and still have a domicile/address at my parents home where I've been living. I mean it's all just mailing, receiving, mailing and so on so forth...I believe. It would just be easier for me if I were with him, and I don't think I would be applying for residency and such in Pakistan, personally I think that would just add to the complicatedness** and length of my situation/process.

Well yes he will be paying for it, but he will be sending me the money to my bank account. Which I will be opening on monday....yes, I know I'm very unprepared...but I never really had the need for a job, bank account or any of these things before because I was just fresh out of highschool before I got married....I was planning on starting college and getting a part timer but that all just got put on hold once I went to paki for vacations....innocent vacation was all it was....but anyways....so yeha, he will be paying technically but it will still be coming from a bank account under my name...I hope that doesnt show up as a problem. Though I will not be showing/sending any sort of financial info of mine because well...I don't really have any, I hope that the fact that my joint sponsor will be providing all of the financial support docs/things would suffice as enough.

yeah....I just wish visiting was alot cheaper.lol.....what with me not having a job and my parents completely and totally unwilling to help, not that I expect them to, my husband basically ends paying for all the traveling...plus the entire visa process which adds up to ALOT. But..it's worth it, for sure.

6 weeks to 6 MONTHS!!! Dear god that's too long, what with the initial 6-months to a year the process would normally take. Adding maybe a month and a half would be okay I guess.....I'd live. But adding a whole nother 6 months....making it near a total of a year and a half to 2 years.....that might actually just kill me!!! Goodness, I can only pray it doesn't take that long for us, idk what we would do.

Shouldn't this topic be moved under the IR1 / CR1 general discussion board? Since I'm not going to be going the K3 route anymore, maybe it would be better if we moved this topic where it belongs???

anyways,

One more question. After the initial 6 months (round-about) where I file my i130 then get my noa1 after 1-2 months, then 4-5 months later get my noa2, does anyone have an average/estimate of how long it should take from then on. I believe after the first process is completed (6 months, god I wish it were less) the case goes to the NVC right? How long does it normally take....and what "exactly" happens next with that? Generally.......add the 6 months for the filing and noa1 and noa2 to the whole thing.....how long would it take for my husband to get his visa and come here? Some people I've seen on this site haven't had to wait for more then 6 months total (pakistani male case, started last oct) and others took much longer. Any ideas on how long of a wait my husband and I should be expecting... cray5ol.gif

The only person who will do this would be the friend of mine, he is my husbands distant relative also so he would be delighted to be the sponsor or write an affidavit of support.

Im sorry i have nothing to add about the AOS, but I would be prepared to have this scrutinized during the interview at the consulate.

Whats the AOS?

Affidavit of Support. I think you had all of those questions answered and got some very good feedback.
The "this" I was referring to was the statement I bolded.
Prepare your husband to answer if the cousin was looking for a USC for him to marry...just in case they ask. just my two cents...I would just like to cover all bases, if I was you. Did your friend introduce you to your hubby? they may ask that question also.

Good Luck on your journey, and yes...you will find helpful people here and you arent alone smile.gif

Oh, thanx for telling me. Yeah I already pretty much prepared him for that. I know that the interview is always a pain and the interviewers are always looking for as much as they can. Added to that the fact that my husband is a Pakistani Male....I believe he's under AP anyways.

Oh and no, my friend didn't introduce us. But thanx for asking. I think we're pretty much ready for the interview part....it's the whole long wait and the rest of the procedures that are what worry us. lol.

Well, I've done as much research as I think I can about the cr1 procedure and am ready to start, but I just wanted to have you guys look over what I'm planning to do now just to be sure and everything. So...I hope I've pretty much got it right....

Sending in my petition:
Okay, firstly...Fill out I-130 and place a copy of my birth certificate and also copy of ALL pages of my passport behind it. Followed by a copy of the marriage certificate (translated to english). G-325a and attach one passport size photo of myself to the corresponding g-325a. photo should be placed inside a clear plastic bag and labeled "Photo of [insert name]".

Have spouse fill out their G-325a and mail it to me. Place that behind my own G-325a and attach his passport size photo inside a labeled bag to it. Add 5 wedding photos and 2-3 Affidavits as proof of a bonifide marriage.

Mail via USPS to: USCIS P.O. Box 804616 Chicago, IL 60680-1029

Wait 1-2 months for petition approval. Then I think I would be getting my NOA1 and the instructions on what to do next.

Only some questions now....for the evidence of a bonifide marriage.....would the signed and sworn affidavits of 2-3 people plus 3 wedding photos and 2 photos of us together after the wedding be enough? Would digital photo print count? Also, would it hurt our chances if all of the people who make the affidavits are from Pakistan?

Mine was a very short wedding and then I had to come back a.s.a.p due to the horrible conditions "my side of the family" were creating. I didn't really have much time to buy property or take out a joint lease for something with my husband. I don't know what else I could use as proof of our ongoing marital relationship. I was hoping that I could go to Pakistan and spend some time with him and maybe buy or rent something together just to get the evidence...or take more legit photos but I can't go because, well, firstly I'm planning on beginning college soon and don't want to disrupt myself....as I've already done. I'm a year behind already. Secondly, my family (parents) will not let me back in their home if I go. Thirdly, if I go there and my brother or anyone else from my family that is living there finds out my life will again be endangered, just as it was the whole time I was there, hence the short stay after my marriage. So going back there would be like suicide, pretty much. It's just not safe for me, especially if they somehow find out. That is why me and my husband want to live our lives together in the U.S, in order to get away from all of those who will and are doing their best to split us apart. At least here, we can be together without fearing for our lives each and everyday. But, Off-Topic2.gif ......I just want to bring my husband nearer to me soon.........and even if it does take the longest time possible....2-3 years even. I guess I'll just have to have a good amount of patience. I've waited over 4 years to to be with my husband already......and I thought it would be so much easier after getting married. I guess we were just seriously mistaken. Hopefully though, I think I'll probably go to see him later into this process....like before his interview but after I get my NOA1 or NOA2. If it is safe....and maybe even if it's not...cause it's still worth it, you know.

Ah, well, anyways.....thanks so much you guys for being so kind as to helping me with this. I feel so much better knowing that I'm not all alone in this and that their are so many spouses here that are going through pretty much the same thing as I am, and so many more that have already gone through it and are together forevermore dancin5hr.gif . It just puts so much hope into my heart.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI(US citizen) Got married in Pakistan and need to know how to bring my spouse to the U.S.
Thanx faryan and 2ond Journey for the advice, I was already split between doing the cr-1 or the K3 and I'm going with the cr-1 definitely, seeing as its cheaper, and much better in the long run.

Also, Thank you SunDrop for all of the answers and info, you really cleared a lot up for me.

although, I do have another question that's seriously worrying me. I was reading the guides for the cr1 and found out that in order to send in my I-864 me and my joint sponsor would have to also send in our last 3 tax returns or tax transcripts, from the previous 3 years right? Well idk about my joint sponsor really but personally.....seeing as I've never done taxes....or even paid attention to anyone doing them or not, I barely even know what a tax return is. I know, this might sound utterly stupid but it is the truth? How would I even get my tax returns when I haven't ever even done my taxes? What if I don't have any tax returns....I'm still a student so how do I show for those? My joint sponsor may have theirs, in fact I'm sure they do..if not I'm sure they can get them, definitely. But I know for a fact I haven't a clue about mine......so does that mean my husband won't be able to get his visa (oh god forbid). sad.gif

Also, I was wondering if anyone knew whether I needed to fill out the G-325a form for my spouse also, or just for me? Would I need to file it for the joint sponsor also?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI(US citizen) Got married in Pakistan and need to know how to bring my spouse to the U.S.
I found this info in the I-864 form that might be the answer I was looking for for the first question....hoping someone could back that up for me?

What Is a Joint Sponsor?

If the person who is seeking the immigration of one or more of his or her relatives cannot meet the income requirements, a"joint sponsor" who can meet the requirements may submit a Form I-864 to sponsor all or some of the family members.A joint sponsor can be any U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident who is at least 18 years old, domiciled in the United States, or its territories or possessions, and willing to be held jointly liable with the petitioner for the support of the intending immigrant. A joint sponsor does not have to be related to the petitioning sponsor or the intending immigrant.

If the first joint sponsor completes Form I-864 for some rather than all the family members, a second qualifying joint sponsor will be required to sponsor the remaining family members. There may be no more than two joint sponsors. A joints sponsor must be able to meet the income requirements for all the persons he or she is sponsoring without combining resources with the petitioning sponsor or a second joint sponsor. Any dependents applying for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status more than six months after immigration of the intending immigrants must be sponsored by the petitioner but may be sponsored by an original joint sponsor or a different joint sponsor.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI(US citizen) Got married in Pakistan and need to know how to bring my spouse to the U.S.
Due to several conditions that were out of my hands I had to get married to my husband quite a bit earlier then we had decided, not that I'm unhappy.....no! actually it has been wonderful and probably the best decision of my life...we are very happy biggrin.gif but anyways.... Off-Topic2.gif I'm sure this action has changed the process of immigrating him to the U.S to live with me quite a bit, since we were planning to just do the K1 and now that we are already married I believe it is the K3 that we will be applying for.

I have done quite a bit of asking around and mostly some good research of my own (thank you internet) and have found that all of the forms I will be needing can be downloaded, which I have already done, and filled out on your computer, then printed out signed and be mailed with the rest of the files, papers, records, and evidences. My main issue here is.....guidance. I am in the need of a bit of guidance in some areas seeing as I don't have a clue when it comes to certain situations. Details below:

Firstly, I live with my parents who are not very happy with my decision to marry my husband for their own personal reasons. I do not have a job and have completed my GED and am planning on starting college this new year. Therefor, my only source of income would be my parents, and also a friend of the family whom I manage a website for, we are almost like brother and sister and he has mostly taken care of my money needs since I was quite young. I read about the affidavits of support...which I believe are the same as a contract of sponsor/ship. Because of this I am quite confused on whether I will be able to apply for a visa for my husband. Seeing as I don't have a job, I may possibly have the option of a sponsor/affidavit of support. Which is where the problem arises. My parents will not, under any circumstances have any part of this, therefor they will not sign any sort of sponsorship contract/affidavit. The only person who will do this would be the friend of mine, he is my husbands distant relative also so he would be delighted to be the sponsor or write an affidavit of support. But, I do not know if this can be done. As I have read in several places that only someone living in the same household can sponsor someone for immigration/ make an affidavit of support in this case, either that or a boss or company that I work for I believe. If anyone could please shine some light on this subject I would be very grateful.

I am very desperate to bring my husband nearer to me, and ever since I've come back to the U.S it is all I have been thinking about. If anyone could please help me find a solution to the income issue I would be very relieved. My husband and I want to buy an apartment in New York near his relatives and the friend I was talking about helping us with the sponsor contract. He is going to give my husband a very nice paying job the moment he comes here to help us out and my husband also has a business of his own from which he can already afford to take care of himself and I very well....so I do not see where the problem arises....we will certainly not be needing any sort of well-fare or anything of the sort. I just hope there was some way I could prove the same thing in my petition so that I won't be declined first thing. unsure.gif

Secondly, "Evidence of a Bonifide Marriage"...ok, well the list of suggestions given on the site are pretty precise........but the problem is that I hadn't had much of a long marriage, in fact it is quite short and my stay with him was for less than 3 months in total after the marriage. Before it I stayed with my fathers family for somewhere around 3 months or so. Making for a total 6 months stay.... offtopic45vn.gif . So, I didn't really have much time to....idk...buy property, or lease an apartment or something so I don't have proof of that. But, I do have pictures of him and myself together....of our traditional pakistani wedding photo session, I could also get a few affidavits of friends and family no problem......but I don't really know how an affidavit should be written? If anyone could please post an example affidavit that I could use as an outline....or even just some tips on what sort of information everyone should include when they write the affidavit's other then their own signatures?

Thirdly, whats the chance of my husband "getting" a visit visa to come and visit me in Detroit, MI? He is 21, technically a student and owns his own business in Pakistan and has never traveled outside of Pakistan since he was around 4-5....before that he lived In UAE (and was also born there). I just want to know if he could come on a visit or tourist visa...and what the chances are of him actually applying and "getting" one. What are the requirements, and what is the procedure like...and would it hurt our chances with the K3 visa? Also, just round-about how much would it cost? What would he need....and resources that anyone could point me to? I just want him to come here and stay for a month or two to see me and also so that he can meet his relatives too. If this isn't possible, or it might run the risk of hurting our chances with the visa then never mind it completely.....but I thought I'd just ask seeing as we both want it so badly.

and Lastly, I know that the fee for petitioning and filing the I-130 is $355.00, but I was wondering if that is the total fee....or the complete amount I should be sending with the documents. Are there any other fee's I should be including besides this? Like the fee for I-485?

What I am planning to include in/with my Petition:

1. I-130
2. G-325a
3. I-864
4. I-485 (Is there a fee???)

5. 2 wedding pictures of us together.
6. Sponsorship contract (hopefully)
7. 2-3 signed Affidavits (proof of bonifide marriage)
8. Check in the amount of $355.00
9. Cover letter listing everything included in the order it is placed, plus the contact information of petitioner and spouse.
10. 2 2x2 pictures of my spouse, in plastic bag and labeled.
11. Copy of both of our passports (biographical page as well as entry stamps)
12. Copy of both of our birth certificates.
13. Copy of spouses I-94(What is this????)
14. A copy of Marriage certificate.

hope I got everything...

....I hope I can be with my husband soon crying.gif .
