Mahshallah hshah! And MUBARAK!!! Sounds like you didn't get AP! Since the CO did not explain anything or talk to you about it...or sounds like he didn't even mention AP. And you also didn't get the green paper explaining AP it only seems likely that you have not gotten AP.For which I congratulate you with enthusiasm!!!!!!!!!!

WOOHOOOOO!!! See everyone.....more and more reason to not let yourselves get depressed about this AP....especially those who are still waiting on interviews!

It may take 2 weeks.....it may take a month...it may even take the 1 week the CO said....but there is really no absolute way to tell to be honest. Hopeful's took so long because their case is initially in a neighboring country...so it would take longer to be mailed there. Either way you look at it though....it could go either way...but thank ALLAH for no AP!

:D

Yes. Taj's husband received his visa on Jan 20th but they are having trouble because I believe it was only valid for 3 or so months but they had wanted to wait till their son's case went through so that they could come together I believe. And something about his medical school or something too...they had thought they would get a normal 6 month valid visa...but did not.

Pretty much the same thing happened to us. The CO was insisting on AP and telling us about it. Then he gave us the slip and placed the passport on the tray so husband could pick it up. He didn't pick it up and instead seeing that my husband was so reluctant to pick it up and so heartbroken about the AP he picked it back up and told us that if in a month and a half we don't get a call from the embassy to pick up the passport w/ visa stamped to call the embassy and inquire.

AP lasted 29 days, got a call to pickup the passport at the speedex and did so immediately a half an hour afterwards of it. It's still AP if the CO takes the passport and tells you to wait a month...since that is just the CO giving a guess on how long he/she thinks your AP may take....it's a guess, but it is something substantial for us still. :)

Good luck and inshallah may Allah bless you with a quick and smooth AP. ^_^

Actually, if he doesn't get his visa by August I will be delivering a baby alone! Yes thats right, me too. Anyways he will get mad if he sees I posted that so lets all forget it, I just couldn't contain myself! Anyways I may be wrong, but it seems like ppl who are a mixed-race couple get longer AP's. I don't know who on here has a white wife, Faisal? But me, Wellmux and Tara are all mixed race I believe. I['ve seen other white/paki couples on here who had like 14 month AP's, but luckily those ridiculously long AP's don't happen much anymore. Also, I think if the applicant has traveled or lived outside of Pakistan they tend to get more checks as well. My husband lived in England for like 6 years so I'm sure they are checking him out thoroughly. As I see it, it is taking 5-6 months for the AP to be complete and now the extra month for the passport. The CO asked my husband if he wanted the passport or leave it with them, he told them to take it. She said ok, that may save you some time anyways. So all together I'm planning on 6-8 months from interview til the passport is in his hand w/visa. April-june is my estimate. I do hope it is sooner of course but I must be realistic. I don't think there are any special circumstances holding up our cases Tara, we are just the lucky ones who get longer AP's. Believe me, the visas will come, and when they do, you will forget about this whole painful experience as you will be so happy to have him with you starting a new life. You may have to deliver alone, but at least your in a country with PROPER medical facilities. The medical care here is a joke, but thats a whole other topic. Wishing you all luck and checking back all the time, everyone keep updating!

Hmm.....as unfortunate as it may be....I think you might just have a point there. Taj'samericanwife had a fairly long wait too....over 4 1/2 months in ap. Though, there case is a bit more complicated as her Paki husband is in the Philipines and they have a 2-3 yr old son together that is in the Philipines with his dad...but they ARE initially going through isl embassy, as confusing as that is to my own mind lol. Though...she's not necessarily "white", she's Philipino I believe...but still. It sure does seem so......which is utterly ridiculous. *shrugs*

I believe the list is already completely up-to-date. I checked earlier today to see whether we had Feisal bhai and ghayders info updated or not and it was all already there...I assumed it was either yourself or Feisal bhai himself. I did, although, update and add the new averages accordingly. :)

maybe this is not the right place for me to discuss this but as a muslim...hazrat ali is a companion of the prophet saw and the prophet saw told us to only seek help from Allah swt.

If this "were" the right place to discuss this, which it isn't I should let you know....I would have cleared up that mistake you are making believing that the Prophet (S.A.W) EVER said such a thing. I would ask you where it is you EVER read it with your own two eyes...rather than just having heard it somewhere and believing your ears and not your other, more accurate senses. But since, like I've stated clearly above...this is not the place to discuss this matter. I will only reprimand you that you should avoid starting topics of discussions on other peoples religious beliefs on this forum since it is not the proper place to do it, and doing so will not gain you anything in return but merely make you out as prejudiced, ignorant and a childish person. Please refrain from it in future.

BTW -
If saying "Ya Ali Madad" were bidad or "bad" then the Prophet (S.A.W) himself would never had asked Mola for help in times of need as often as he had. If you believe that everything our Prophet (P.B.U.H) has done in his life is considered sunat-e-rasool. Look up Jang-e-Khaiber in a book I'm quite sure you've atleast heard of called the "Bukhari". It is sunat-e-rasool to call upon Mola Ali in times of need...if after reading about the gates of Khaiber in the "Bukhari" you still do not understand, you may contact me privately "if" and only of you are willing to discuss this further in a mature way. Otherwise, I do not wish to discuss this matter further only to satisfy anything other than someones need to simply argue these facts! I simply do not have the time.

This discussion ends here and I simply refuse to acknowledge any further posts or comments made on this subject.

you need to send the original nikah nama as well as the translated version. Remember to keep copies of all of the original documents you ever send to nvc.....you should always have copies of them in case THEY lose them...or request more copies despite already having the originals! It's definitely moments just like the one wellmux experienced that really put things right back into perspective you know. When we look not at the people that are ahead of us but the ones that unfortunately are behind us or in much worse situations then ourselves....then I believe we become far more patient and far less worried about the trivial things in our lives, that have come and will initially pass on their own time inshallah. Remember to always keep those less fortunate then yourselves in mind, especially when you sense that your going through tough times in your life. It'll put any ordeal into perspective and give you the patience and piece of mind needed to get through it safely and soundly! For this is Sunat-e-Rasool(A.S)!

Inshallah everyone will get their visas soon. I am constantly praying for you all!!!!!!!!!!

Faris Ali Gillani was born on Sunday, January 24th 2010 at 11:46am!!! The doctors decided to induce me when they saw that my placenta was looking too aged. All in all the first part of labor was kind of miserable cause it was taking so long and I wasn't dilating well, but it simply felt like menstrual cramps so the pain wasn't so bad. But it sped up out of nowhere going from 1cm to 9cm's in half an hour and exactly an hour afterwards my beautiful baby boy was born!!!

:D....g2g now though. Will be logging on next whenever I get a breathing moment to do so...lol.

p.s.

They tried to give us the passport back to but thank god Haseeb didn't touch it...he let it sit there in the tray until the interviewer simply picked it back up and took it. You know, I think that made all the difference really, because we never had to wait for them to find the time to call us eventually and let us know when to submit passport, and then have to sit and wait patiently for them to send it back. Which could take 2 weeks for each process....so an extra month or so of waiting on them. Thank Allah we simply got the call from speedex(not even the embassy, they never called us in fact) on the 29th day of waiting....and went to go pick it up right away. I believe that simple move by my husband saved us big time!

Hmm ok I guess I made a mistake in explaining what they gave me. They gave me a Green Sheet, plus the purple sticker stapled on to the Amex office contact info sheet. I thought everyone was referring to the purple sticker as "pinkish" :innocent: Sorry my bad.

I didnt see anyone with pink sheets on my interview day. People were either getting Green Sheets or Blue Sheets (Which said XYZ document is missing).

Did the interviewer tell your husband he's been approved or just that he has been placed on AP. The thing which is bothering me is that the lady said I'm approved and they just need to run some formalities in the system and it might take a few days (she honestly made it sound like I would get my passport back within a week). Its only when i questioned her that she said "well it might be 6 weeks to infinity".

But she did insist that I should listen to what SHE is saying and ignore what is written on the paper as I have been approved (despite the Green Sheet saying that i have been denied until AP is complete).

Btw the beneficiary is Male.

What was written on the Pink Sheet that your husband received?

PS: Thanks for the quick reply. I don't know what we would do if it wasn't for all the great people of VJ!!

The thing I'm calling "pink sheet" is just that purple sticker and a post it he stuck it to telling us the number to call after a month and a half to inquire about our AP. And yes, the CO did tell us that we are approved and that AP is just a procedure that everyone goes through. But yes, we are "ehel" meaning approved for the visa.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsEveryone going through Administrative Processing in ISLAMABAD

Hi,

I had my interview on Dec 30th 2009 and at the end of it the lady said told me "congrats you're approved and enjoy your new life in America". I got excited thinking I was not going to be put in AP since I lived in US for 5 years, but, then she handed me a Green Sheet saying that I had been put in AP and they will ask for my passport when they are done.

The thing is that she TOOK my passport right then, I even got a little pinkish receipt so I could pick it up from the American Express offices.
I noticed that most people over here placed on AP were returned their passports and told to submit them latter. So why was mine kept?

Its been three weeks now and I still have not heard anything yet.

What does all this mean? They took my passport, so is that a good sign? How long do you guys think I will have to wait in this limbo?

I have been trying the embassy but as you can imagine they have not helped at all. I cant even get through to a person anymore. The phones are stuck in this infinite loop meant to drive us insane :(.

Answers anyone?

Well, they took my husbands passport at the interview and we received the same pink and green sheets. Plus a purple sticker we needed to pickup the passport later on. We had 29 days of AP before we got the call from the speedex(like amex, but for sialkot) to immediately pickup the passport. I had not called the embassy or DOS or anyone to find out about the case, as the CO at interview told us to wait till a month and a half and if we didn't hear from them by then to call and inquire. So I had decided to just wait till at least 30 days to call, so I was going to make my first call the very next day but we got the call to pickup passport a day before so never even got to doing it. If it's been 3 weeks....well, that's a bit soon to get impatient I think. Best thing to do is to try and at least wait for a month or a month and a half till getting worried about it....this way you won't be setting your hopes too high which makes things a lot worse...trust me, I speak from experience.

Good luck, and inshallah you will get the call very soon!

oh and btw....just wondering, for the ap list.....is the beneficiary male or female?

Anyone that does not see themselves on the AP list and has had an interview please post your details here so that you can be added to the list ASAP.
Thank you.

Post details as follows:

Visa Type: (cr1, k3 etc.)
Interview Date: (mm/dd/yyyy format)
Which embassy: (ISL, Philippines, Canada etc.)
Please post whether the beneficiary is Male or Female.
And any dates of calls from embassy to pick up visa's, if you've had any would be helpful too. Thank you. :)

Inshallah may everyone get through these tough times and be reunited with their loved ones soon. Ameen.

Fiesal and Mumtaz: I am not sure if I am right person to do it. But I have like printed this spreadsheet so I can have a look at it time to time in my room. It makes me feel so positive and better. I am almost around VJ once or twice a day now. It makes me feel better. So not sure if i can do it. If you guys dunt find anyone else I can become your last option. But consider others who have been here before me and since quite a while.

You know what, if the both of us took on the spreadsheet I think we would be able to keep it nice and up-to-date between the two of us. Though, I'll add I've no experience w/ google spreadsheets...but I'm more than sure I can figure it out well enough given the opportunity no problemo. :)

What do you think Feisal? Sure w/ the baby coming in early feb for the first 2 weeks or so I may not be on here so much....maybe not more than a few hours a week, but once the 2 weeks have gone I'm pretty sure I'll have enough time to come on here at least an hour or two a day and keep the spreadsheet updated nicely. And if anything, I'm sure hshah08 would be able to fill in the short gaps if needed.....if that's all cool w/ hshah08 that is? Splitting it between 2 people sounds incredibly reasonable don't you guys think?

You know what....If I think about it responsibly for a minute. To be honest, as much as I would like to I don't really think I'd be the best person for the job Feisal bhai. What with the baby coming in the first week of Feb....I'm not sure how well updated I would be capable of keeping the spreadsheet. I'm not even sure I would be able to use the computer very much especially for the very first few weeks definitely. Maybe I may level off a bit though after 2-3 weeks or so. In fact I believe that would most likely be the case. Since I'm not working right now and I'm at home for the most of my time, even with the baby I still think I'll be able to spend at least a couple of hours a day online. Though, as much as I'd like to be the one....I think it would only be responsible letting you know this stuff before we actually went in and made the change you know....:(

I believe that would be for as long as you have it...meaning as long as it doesn't expire. That's what they told us at POE, that Haseeb can travel back and forth as he wishes untill it expires. Then when he receives his GC same thing basically. He only mentioned trying not to travel more then twice a year because it could look a bit suspicious when applying for the 10 year GC and citizenship and whatnot.

Hi everyone,

Long time no see.....lol. Well....POE went easily enough. We got off at JFK and went through immigrations quick enough. They took us to a separate room to ask Haseeb and I some questions and the guy was very nice and really funny. We enjoyed it actually....were only there like 10-15 minutes. He asked to see the poe packet, the sealed one...and I gave that to him. Afterwards, he only asked to confirm the address where the greencard could be mailed and I gave the Michigan one (where I am staying now, not with Haseeb though he's still in NY working his bottom off sad.gif). I miss my husband so much....so damn much. But I have to have the baby here where my mom and sis are and then I will go back home to my hubs when we have a proper place to stay that is big enough for all 3 of us....inshallah I am praying that will be soon. Sometime in late Feb or early March. Anyways, so the guy asked Haseeb the questions and didn't mind at all if I replied for him...and even said Haseeb's got plenty of time to get used to the Brooklyn accents now he'll be staying in NY and gave us a big smile. Then he only asked about Haseeb's education, we told him he's completed B-COM part 1 and inshallah plans on completing the rest of his semesters here in NY once the baby is born and we get settled in nicely enough. He was really happy to hear that and asked if I was planning to do anything further with my education and I told him yeah I miss college....can't wait till the baby is big enough (3-6 months) that I can begin leaving him with Haseeb to go back to college. Thats all he asked and afterwards he told us good luck and to take care and we left to get our baggage. It was darn easier than I could have ever imagined. Allah tallah really listened to all of my desperate prayers and all of the tears I've shed over this. When I came back to Michigan 2 days ago all of my girl friends and all of my moms and dads friends asked how my husband got his visa in such little time...9 months to be exact cause no one they new had gotten it in less than 2 years waiting AP or no.....and all I could say is....Shukran Allah Shukran Mola!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well....31 weeks pregnant now....and I'm actually really beginning to "feel" the pregnant part of being pregnant. I'm really sleepy now and my eyes are heavy so.....although it's 1:35 pm here.....I'm so taking a nap. HEHE.

Your all in my prayers. Especially you two Zaheers and Feisal! Inshallah Allah tallah will be as gracious to the both of you as he has been to me and Haseeb! biggrin.gif Best of luck to all.
