US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionGot My Visa Weeeeee
QUOTE (ellmvl @ Jun 20 2009, 05:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone! I just wanna share the good news to all of you...I finally got my visa yesterday June 20, 2009. It's quite been a journey for us but we are thankful to God for all the guidance and help that He extended to us through the people here in visajourney. Thank you so much guys! My husband and I are so happy that we're finally ready to turn to the next page of our love's journey. Well, I am not going to leave anytime soon since I still have to finish my last 3 cycle of chemotherapy. We are hoping to get me there around September...before it gets really cold in the US co'z he wants me to slowly adjust to the climate there. Btw, I had my medical on June 10th and my interview was on June 18th. Now that I have my visa it doesn't mean I am going to forget about this site. It's now my turn to share my advice and experiences to other people especially those who just started their visajourney. Goodluck to all of you! God bless us all!

P.S. Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there. Salute!!! kicking.gif

Congratulations!! kicking.gif kicking.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK-2 visa (to follow) approved
QUOTE (Gary and Alla @ Jun 25 2009, 06:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello All

Alla called me very early this morning with the good news that our son, Sergey, had his K-2 visa approved which finally completes our visa process. kicking.gif

Now he will be arriving here July 16 and I need to get his AOS ready.
Anyway, all went well, no questions asked.

For those of you contemplating having a child follow after a K-1 visa, it was not difficult and the consulate was very cooperative with everything. Once I get back together with Alla I can give a review of the interview.

How wonderful!!! I'm so happy for you all!! star_smile.gif kicking.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAffidavit of Support Issues/Question
Also, do you have any assets? And does your fiancee? Believe me, that will help a lot! We were approved with assets, because Tim doesn't earn near the 125% level. Cars, homes, IRA'S, stocks bonds...anything..

A co sponsor will have to fill out a separate affidavit of support, (as so do you), and be able to show that they can support the size of their own household, plus your fiancee. Find yourself a job, any job, right now, because that too will help.

Best wishes for you job hunting!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDoes that mean we got it or not!?!?
As every consulate is different, (mine, you know right away, and if you're approved, can pick up the visa the next day), make sure you ask within the forums of the consulate your fiance went to. However, that being said, keeping a passport, an envelope to mail it back in, and hearing a congratulations, sounds pretty positive to me! good.gif

Hope you don't wait to long to get that passport (with the visa) in it!!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview is today!
I can appreciate how you feel!! I sure didn't like that interview stage myself, especially when it looked liked the consular was in a bad mood, and disapproving everyone. ( Judging by the looks on the other two women before me, but I didn't know the details or anything) However, because I was so prepared, (thanks to VJ), it all went as smooth as silk.

Just take a deep breath, and relax. I'm sure everything will work out for both of you. If the consulate there is like the one I was in, my visa was approved pending the medical. ( I had my exam the day after the interview) So once they got the results, (same afternoon as exam) the consular's assistant took them, said no problems, I'm healthy, ( I knew that already) and my visa was mailed to me in two days.

Best wishes to both of you!! happy.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionFiance' Visa Denied!
I'm sorry I don't have too much advice to give you. I'm sure someone else familiar with your situation will come along. Did you also ask this in the Vietnam thread? It may be a good place as well to receive answers.

So sorry about all this. I really hope it all works out for the two of you. Hang in there...

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview on a Friday
Can't answer about Montreal, but usually if the visa is approved, then you pick it up the next day. Being the interview is Friday, then yes, I'd guess in the afternoon on Monday. Or they will tell you to bring a Xpress envelope with you, ( addressed to you) and they will mail it out. I had mine mailed and received it no problem in good condition with my visa in my passport smile.gif

US Citizenship General DiscussionThe Journey is Finally over!!
QUOTE (pars3221 @ May 29 2009, 08:23 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Well I am happy to say after a long journey my wife is now a U.S. Citizen.. The interview was yesterday in the Atlanta office and it went very well, took about 15 minutes. The IO did not even ask for anything (we had brought Tax receipts, bank statements, marriage certificate, pictures, etc...) The interview was at 9:25 AM, we got there at 9 and the interview was at 10:14. Lucky for us Atlanta is one of the few field offices where the oath ceremony is on the same day. So we came back at 2 and the ceremony ended at 3 and she is now a U.S. Citizen. Next step is to get her Social Security status changed and apply for a U.S. Passport.

I want to thank all of you for your help and guidance through these 3 years and I wish everyone the best of luck with their citizenship journey!!!

Thank you all!!!

congratulations!! kicking.gif

CanadaNOA2 Recieved... Next Steps Now
Tom that's great. Congratulations!!

Can't help out as far as the children are concerned. Sorry. My son is 22 and will NOT be moving with me...

As far as interview?? Well, I thought I read somewhere that you can call to change date if necessary, but don't hold me to that!! I'm still real new myself!!

And moving things...hmmmm. I was planning on shipping down things myself, and telling Tim to leave them and if things fell through he could ship them back!! LOL. Then I thought I read that I should wait about that too....like after the visa is granted. But small things that you mentioned? I can't see why not as long as it's fitting in a suitcase. Maybe I'll try that. I'm HOPING like mad I can go and visit Tim for the month of April. That's a long time and I'm sure it would look suspicious at the border, but if I bring evidence of returning back here...I really hope they let me go down.

I hope you find your answers. (and maybe I'll find a few of mine...lol)
