I am confusing about the I-864 documnets needed.
Do we need to get a letter form the bank with last years deposits ?
Or just the 3 years taxes + assets will be ok?
My husband is sel-employed so we also have a letter form the accountant and taxes from the business will this be enough???

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSSN "Valid for Work Only" from previous J1 Visa

SSN is number for your life, it does not change ever.
If you want to change the name on the card you will have to fill out the form and send the supporting document and hey will print another card with new name and same number and send it out.
If your card has “Valid for work only with authorization” and now you have GC or CR1 then both of them together work for your employer as your GC or CR1 shows you are eligible to be employed.

So does it mean that even after i get my GC i don´t need to go the office and remove the “Valid for work only with DHS authorization” condition from the card??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUncommon situation
Hi, thanks for the responses!
Well, I thought about changing my interview date, but the thing is that once you get NOA2 everything has to be done in 4 months, right? Since I got NOA2 in september my interview couldn't be later the january, and in january I would be in the states with my family... I read somewhere that i can extend this expire date 4 more months, but I'm not gonna bother. I'll skip my family trip and wait til march. At least I'll have my K1 visa in hands, that's more important.
I wrote to the american embassy in my country and they said that once I get the K1 my B2 won't be canceled and still would be valid. But they don't advise me to try and to this and they said it would totally be at the discretion of the customs office at your POE. And in the end they said the the final decision to try and do this would be mine. But I'm scared something bad will happen, so I'll skip it.
Now just one more question: is it ok to get married after the visa has already expired?? For example, if my K1 visa expires on march 15th and I enter the country on march 10th. Do I only have 5 days do get married or do I still have the 90 days to do it (even though they visa will be expired after march 15th)?
Thanks a lot guys!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUncommon situation
Hello my dear VJ'ers! I'll go through a not so common situation and would like to know if anyone can advise me on this.

I have a valid tourist visa (B2) that is good until 2014 and I'm also going through the K1 process at the moment. I've talked to the embassy in my country (I already got NOA2) and they said most likely my interview will be in the begining of december, so if everyhing goes well (hopefuly it will) I'll have my K1 visa in hands by the end of this year.

However, due to work and family issues (and very personal reasons) my fiance and I had to change our plans and I won't be able to move to the US until the end of march, which is fine, because my K1 won't have expired yet. BUT, now here's the deal! I'm planing a vacation trip to LA with my father and my sister in january! A 4 week vacation thing. My question is: is it ok to already have the K1 but enter the country on a B2 visa? I'll have my return ticktes and everything. I don't wanna "waste" my K1 on this trip because I MUST return home and I'll only be able to leave for good at the end of march. Do you think I might have problems? Do you think they can cancel my K1 because I'm trying to enter with the B2? Or do you think they might say I can't enter on a B2 because I have a K1 in my passport?

One thing I know is that it is legal to have 2 different types of visa in your passport, as in the past I've been through a situation where I had both the J1 and B2 in my passport and didn't have any problems with it. But I don't know is things are different with the K1....

Sorry if the post is a bit confusing, but I'm very confused right now. I'd appreciate any responses! Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFolks, a question about the “questions” at the interview day.
helpsmilie.gif
I read several times that we might be asked about our parents and if we intend to apply for their immigration anytime in the future.
Do you think this is a tricky question? Like: if we say yes, we are gonna get deny it?
Please, share your thoughts and experiences with me.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOdd couple!
Ok! Thanks a lot for the replies!

So regarding filling out the forms and stuff such as, what's the impact of not having proof of income in Brazil? I'm a hairdresser and here we are not registered as employees when we hairdress besides. Can I say my occupation is a student even though I'm not enrolled anywhere? I mean I was on an F-1 visa only a couple of months ago!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOdd couple!
My Fiancee is American and I'm Brazilian. She's 18 and I'm 23.

She can't work because she studies full-time and I'm currently unemployed and haven't worked in a while. In the beginning of 2011 I went to America on an F-1 Visa and we met and lived together for some months at her family's place then my visa expired and I came back to Brazil. Neither of us have evidence of support but her parents do. They actually want us to get married and live together in America. They said they would sponsor us and everything. What are our chances of making it? Is the Fiance visa the best option for us?! Is there any part of the process where they will require ME (the beneficiary) to have income or anything else in order to issue the visa?

Thanks for your attention!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of having met
Thankss everybody! I just feel I have to clear some things up!

I don't have hotel receipts and I don't have bank transactions.

I do have a passport stamp (pretty faded but it's there and all the Duration of Status thing), I have the I-20 of my first school and the I-20 of the school I transferred to. I also have my boarding passes to America and from America. I also have pictures of me and her on her prom day but not pictures of me, her and her parents together.
Would this be enough to establish proof of having met?
haveheartMale02011-09-22 20:10:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of having met
Thank you very much for the replies!

I managed to find some credit card receipts from July when I was there, not from when we met. Do they count?

ALSO, I was in the U.S. on a student visa. Would it help if I sent my I-20 or the certificate of attendance from the school?
She was in Dallas, I was in Houston (where the school is) but I would go to Dallas every weekend and I kept ALL the boarding passes!

Thanks a lot!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of having met
I've been gathering proof of having met within the last two years and I came across some doubts. This is for I-129F:

1.I have plane tickets, greyhound tickets, things under my name mailed to her place (I would actually like to know if it's a good idea to submit this), and tons of pictures together. Is this enough?!

2.Must the pictures meet any preferable characteristic?
i.e: preferably full frontal face of us or us kissing.

3.We skype everyday and facebook message each other all day long. We do not talk on the phone and don't send e-mails to each other. She's coming to Brazil this year so she has the plane ticket to come here. Do these count as enough proof of an ongoing relationship? The only proof of ongoing relationship I have besides those are letters I sent to her and a mail package she sent to me. Should this be ok or should I go after additional things? If so, any hints on that?!

Thank you very much for your time!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325a
Anyone, please?
haveheartMale02011-09-26 12:14:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325a
I was filling out G-325a for myself (the beneficiary) and I came across some doubts:

1. File number: "None" or leave in blank?

2. All other names used...: N/A? I have never been married.

3. Former Husbands or Wives: None in the first space and N/A in the next ones (including date)? / should I put None in both lines?

4. Applicant's Residence Last Five Years: I rented an apartment in Dallas for six months and then broke the lease. Still, I wasn't living there, I was living with my fiancee at her
parents house. I was on a F-1 Visa and was at her house from February to July. Besides that, in 2007/2008 I worked in the U.S. for three months and lived in somewhat like a dorm. Apart from that. I have always lived in the same place in Brazil. Should I put the addresses abroad for these months or just fill out my address in Brazil (which has been the same for more than five years)? If so, which? The Apartment or her parents' house? Do I include the address of the period I was working in America as well?

5. Applicant's Last Address Outside the United States of more than one year: I'm a foreigner and I have always lived in Brazil. What should I put here?

6. Last Occupation Abroad if not Shown Above: I was an F-1 Student for months in 2011 and I have worked for an American Company in 2007/2008. What should I put here? Should I put "F-1 student" which school do I write down? I studied in two different schools under this F-1 visa.

Last question: Where dates not apply, should I write N/A or leave it in blank? I mean, I saw the example here at Visajourney (where whenever there's no answer they just left it blank) but then reading the forums I came across different kinds of information regarding whether or not leave spaces in blank. What should be the rule for that?

Thank you very much for you time and good luck on your journey!

Thanks, I am doing numbers as well.

Ok, so my Applicant's Address Last Five Years has four lines filled and in the last line I have put "see attachment" and made an attachment with the continuation (two more addresses). Is this the right way or instead of writing some in the form, write all of them in the attachment?

Still, do regarding the box: Do I leave the blanks empty after writting "See Attachment"?!

Another question that came up. Do I write numbers corresponding to months or abbreviation of months?

01 or JAN
12 or DEC
?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Attachment Help!
I searched for hours for this information on Visajourney and couldn't find it! I appreciate your reply and help!

I can't fit a single name within the blankets where information about employment should be put. I know I have to make an extra attachment for it but I don't know how the form itself should look like.

Should I write "See attachment" in the first line (the one at the top) and leave those other ones in blank? Should I do it in the last line (bottom line)? Should I write "See attachment" in every single one of those lines?!

Another question: Should I make one separate attachment for every question or one for all of them?

Check my another topic on the G-325A as well! Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUSC with no income
I don't know how to read your name, but thank you very much! I feel much better now! Another question:

when the petition get approved, must I have an I-134 made by the petitioner herself or just the sponsor + co-sponsor?
haveheartMale02011-09-29 23:49:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUSC with no income
I'm sorry I'm a bit mixed up about the terms. Yes, it's for the interview that I'm worried.

I'm the beneficiary and I have a really low income.
The petitioner has NO INCOME but her mom and dad together do. So after the petition being approved, ANY U.S. Citizen can sponsor the immigrant as long as they have sufficient income?!
haveheartMale02011-09-29 23:35:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUSC with no income
I have been reading different things on this forum so I wanted to clear something up:

I'm the beneficiary of a petition about to be sent, I'm 23 years old, employed in my country (not saying this matters a lot but...) but with a very low wage. My Fiancee is a U.S. citizen, 18 years old who goes to university and has no income and no tax returns at all. Her mother is gonna support us and sponsor us, meeting the guidelines but not exceeding them substantially.

I have been reading different things about K-1 visas being denied based on USC having no income. 1 - What's the real deal?! I really want to know my chances of this situation being a problem for us!

2 - My Fiancee is gonna file the form I-134 and then send it along her mother's support so it should not be a big deal but would they really deny my K-1 visa based on that?

I'm freaking out here and I want to know this information before filing the petition. Thanks a lot for replying and good luck on your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTattoos during the medical
I have about ten tattoos and my right arm is covered in them. Three of them are owls (as a symbol of wisdom). I have a tattoo on my hand (an anchor) and I have a big tattoo on my thy of a lady with an Orthodox church on her head as a hairdo adornment! *I'm a hairdresser* I was wondering if any of my tattoos would be seen as bad or or lead them to believe anything bad about me! Any thought on that?!

Thank you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F question 18 and processing
My fiancee wrote a one page statement regarding the events of our relationship for question 18 of the form 129F but after reading some topics here we decided to fit everything in the box and this is what we came up with:

"We firstly met online in December 2010 and in February 2011, my fiancé came to the USA to study as an F-1 student (he already had plans on doing so before meeting me). We first met at the "X" Station in Dallas, TX. and he stayed at the "Y" Hotel. We started dating, then my parents asked him to move in us and he proposed to me later on the (and here the date)."

Is this better than the whole attachment we made? I head it's better to keep it simple and they don't want to hear a full love story. The things is, I met her and we were together for four days then I went to Houston for a month then back to Dallas to move in with them and so on...

1 - is it worth describing or the explanation above satisfies?

2 - My passport has a stamp but the date can't really be seen (you can tell there's a stamp though). The I-20 received the same stamp and I'm sendind it as well. Is this gonna be a problem?

3 - I have the hotel receipt but my name is missing one letter. Is this gonna be an issue?!

4 - I have no proof that we were living in the same house (besides the address on my check book for example). Is this gonna be a problem?

Now the last question: what's the impact of a more objective and straight forward application?! I've seen people here receiving approvals in less than two months and people as far as four months without an approval. Does it speed up, being objective?!

Thanks a bunch and have a smooth visa journey!

I was giving the K-1 petition some final touches and I notived all letters of intent and cover letter are advised to have the

[ADDRESS

My question is: lately a lot of people are having their cases sent to the service centers regardless of their address. Should I leave my letters without the Service Center address?! If not, what service center should I put since my fiance's address is in Texas?

I just noticed something about my evidence. My name is misspelled all over it. My plane tickets, boarding passes and I-20s are ok, but my bus itineraries & receipts and my hotel bill have my name misspelled on them.

Greyhound never issued a ticket with the right name they put two "Ts" intead of one and took away another letter. The hotel bill (I contacted them trying to get them to change it but they couldn't) took away one letter as well.

Is it gonna be a problem?!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F + affidavits of bonafide and support
"Along with the K-1 petition I'm also sending a letter from my parents saying they recognize our relation as real and current. Also, my mom's letter says that 'upon approval of the petition an affidavit of support will be made co-sponsoring the immigrant (my fiancé) so he won't become a public charge for the government'. Is that alright or too much information?!

The only real place where we can explain about our relationship is the question 18 of the I-129F, right? I mean, some people don't even get interview before being denied, do they? I would assume that describing the circumstances and events (not a love story but the actual major events) would be the best thing, so the people form the consulate abroad would know more about the case before the interview, right?

Thanks"
