IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Affidavit of Support Fee	My husband and I are both living abroad but we were required to file stateside and we also had similar problems when trying to communicate with the NVC to get information. We got the same type of responses and I must have emailed them at least 4 times asking them where our bills and instruction packets were but they arrived eventually. Be patient and they will get there soon! We just recently paid our $88 AOS fee and Visa fees. We understand that we will soon also need to send our I-864 form along with supporting documents (such as tax returns, etc.)to the NVC as well as our DS-230 with the list of documents they request. We noticed that the form online for the DS-230 expired on 6-30-2012 so we are hoping they post an updated version soon! Tell your sister in law best of luck with her process! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Proof of intention to establish residency	Thank you all for the responses! We filed an IR-1/CR-1 Visa. We have been living abroad for a year and a half now. We are about to submit our documents for the DS-230 and our AOS as well. We do have a co sponsor that is mailing their documents to us now since currently I'm not working. My mother has rented a home that she will be sharing with us for a while but our names have not been added to the lease yet. She is trying to contact the landlord to see if our names can be added now so she can send us a copy of the lease agreement. I am receiving mail at that address one of them a utility bill ( some of them have my previous married name, not sure if that makes a difference or not). I also have a letter from my employer stating that I will have employment upon our return to the U.S. If we can't get a copy of the lease, would copies of my bills and employment letter be enough? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Proof of intention to establish residency	Someone mentioned to me that it would be a good idea to provide proof of intent to establish residency for our immigration process. I was told it would be good to have letters of promised employment, rental agreement with our names and bills with our intended address. Is this really necessary and would they want these provided at the interview? I didn't see this request on any of the lists. Can anyone please offer some insight on this? Anyone have any idea when there might be an updated version available? Will they accept this outdated version for a while or do we need to wait for the updated version? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	family name or ex name	We had the same question when filling out our I-130 petition but we realized later that most of the forms we had to fill out want the family name that you were given at birth. I am the American petitioner and my passport has my ex husband's last name but we put my maiden family name on all our documents. Best of luck to you with your process! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	The Stupid RFE Thread	Well this is my new favorite forum: got an RFE yesterday stating that my husband's birth certificate was missing. I had put it in the cover letter, translated it, put a post-it note on it - and of course, it is the ONE thing that goes "missing." It is now under "review" by a supervisor who will look at it in the next 10 days. (FOR REALZ???). Whenever I call the NVC they say they need the ORIGINAL birth certificate when I sent a certified copy - which is how it works in FRANCE. How can I get to talk to a supervisor to explain this to them and get them to see that my BC is NOT missing or is it better to just send off another Birth Certificate? I am seriously worried sick about this. Same exact thing happened to us. Only we sent in the original birth certificate... and they said our marriage certificate wasn't original which is DEF. was. My lawyer sent them file copies of them and sent a letter in response telling them that they are indeed the originals and to go back over them. That's what they're going to get if we have to send them again.... because they're the originals! If you can, call NVC and talk to a supervisor or if you have a lawyer have them deal with it. OK, if the fiance(e) payed with a Money Order, then I am not sure how to get the EAC case number. You will get an EAC#### because I noticed your fiance(e) filed with VSC. You might be able to telephone the main number but I am not sure if they will help you. I think if you can be a little patient, you will get the NOA1 hard copy in the mail about a week or two after mailing. Mine took 11 days to arrive after I mailed the thing. My fiance sent the the 129F form and payed with money order.. Thank u! At most it should not be more than two weeks. Yes, sometimes it is a few days from the Service Center receiving the package. I have read cases where some people never got a hardcopy of NOA1 but it seems to be rare. Can you check your bank account on line to see if the check was cashed. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	CSC X VSC	Thanks for the support !!! They actually take turns. Before we filed last year, I heard a lot of people say that VSC was faster than CSC. In my batch, CSC moved quickly that it was months ahead of VSC. Eventually, VSC was able to run the race again.
