It seems they are having a “mailing” problem with contractors, so all cases are in the “staging area”. They have never left to NVC!!! Not sure if it is true, but what I know is that my case (NOA2) is approved over a month and still didn’t reach the NVC. So, hope that info at least help to give you guys some “peace”. My fiance called USCIS and he was informed that our case was sent directly to the embassy. NVC has never received. Why would they do that? Gosh, and if they have lost it or somehow there's something wrong with it and no one have let us know? I'm so, SO worried. There are so many things I still need to do here, as for resign from my work and so... and I would like so badly to be with him by Christmas time! I called NVC today, and they told me they forwarded our petition already..yuppp...but the guy didn't want to tell me when they mailed it to Brazil But I checked DHL website and found out, they mailed "something" to Brazil on March 8th..haha..Well, I'm guessing my petition is on it way to the consulate!!!!!!! NVC never emailed back, so I suggest you guys call them around 07:30/ 08:00am Eastern time, because after that its almost impossible to get a hold of them. I'm really excited! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	December filers....	Your NOA2 is one day ahead of mine so maybe that means they will arrive at the NVC around the same time! When do you plan on calling the NVC to see if they have received your petition? I was thinking of calling around Thursday (which would be one week and one day after my NOA2). Good Luck! I've started emailing NVC the day after we got approved (I found out that we were "touched" 02/28/2007). For days, I didn't receive anything from them. I also tried calling them but due to time difference, I didn't get to talk to a live person. I tried again last night (that's day time in US) and after being put on hold for 10-15mins (listening to voice recording), I found out that they don't have a record of our case yet. This morning, my daily email paid off and they finally replied. They said they just got our case and working on it and we will just inform us if they got a case number assigned to us. That is sooooooooooooooooooooo wonderful! I'll give it another week and hopefully, they finally have it forwarded here in Manila... Start writing them! Good luck to you! Mae Hey Mae!!! Diana I think I'm a December filer. I sent everything on Nov 27th but got my NOA1 on Dec 5th, so I think that I'm one of you guys Anyways, I am going to write on here anyway. I don't have anything really important to say. Just some ramblings that I was thinking and wanted to share Today, my fiance told me that he really wanted to set a date for our wedding. And I was like, no, no, no, let's wait for your interview date before we set a wedding date. But he said no, we need a wedding date. (hehe, and I'm the girl ) So we decided to pick 2 dates. One in May and one in June, just in case we don't make the May date . It was pretty exciting just to pick a date, and it got me thinking. I spend so much time trying to plan out the "visa journey" that I think I forget sometimes that I'm actually engaged and that I'm actually getting married. I mean it is constantly in my head, but more so in a "i wonder if our case is at NVC or I wonder when he'll get his interview" and all of that. But I guess I'm thinking too much about the details without basking in the fact that I'm marrying the love of my life in a couple of months. Yay! So, I just had to stop all of my planning for some time today and just realize how happy I am that I'm getting married! hehe I feel exactly the same way!! My fiance is taking care of the wedding planning, because I´m really focus on the visa steps, approvals..Its hard to handle the visa thing, and also plan a wedding. I´m glad I can count on my fiance for that and really hope to enjoy more the fact we´ll get married. its just hard when your future is not totally in your hands. I haven´t got my NOA2, and I just found out a mistake in our application, which means we´ll probably get a RFE and delay even more our case.. I was an aupair and lived in MN and then I had to move to VA to live with other family. We lived pretty close to DC, and Chris came to see me a few times, while I was there. When we talked to other people we always mentioned DC because it was really close from where I lived in VA, so when Chris wrote about relationship he mentioned I moved to DC instead of Virginia..I´m sure we will get a RFE because of that , and I wanted to know if we get one, after answering it, if the process will start all over or if they will give us a quick answer...It has been an awful waiting game, a delay is something i was not prepared for.. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Waiting Time	And what the hell is this way of talking to us?? Its been 39 days. =( Anyone else experiencing it?? One thing that can trigger a nasty response from people is to ask them a question they can't answer. They cannot answer "why" and "how long" questions when they don't have a record of receiving the case yet. Even then, some of those questions can't be answered. My dealings with NVC the three or four times I called them, were all very pleasant but they had the case and could easily answer my questions. You will never like the stock answers when that's all they have to give you. It only ruins your conversation and mood to complain. They can't help you unless they have information but when they have it, they are happy to give it to you. Pushbrk, I have NEVER been rude to them, on the contrary, I have been very patient and only call them when I´m calm, speak slowly, ask please, everything.. I know that being rude only makes things worse when it comes to that kind of case... There were some times when they were (specially women), really nice, and tried to explain that they get thousands of cases each day and everything... but there are also the ones that seem like they´re dealing with cubans trying to jump over a fence or something like that... 40 days, still waiting...	lu_floripa03	Female	0	2007-06-27 12:50:00

I called almost everyday since then and they have most of the times, been very rude to me. Yesterday I called and the guy told me to read the noa2 letter for him!!! Can you believe it???? My fiance got it, he sent me a pic of it, so I was able to get it, and while I was looking for it in my documents, and told him to wait a second he said sarcastically "you didnt receive anything, did you?" like I was lying to him!!! He made me read it and then said the NVC could take up to 90 days to process my case, and no sign of it yet. ARGHHHHHHH what´s going on with them??? And what the hell is this way of talking to us?? Thanks Look, after you send the I-130 you'd have to send the I-129 to apply for the K3. These days USICS have been approving both at the same day, like happened to me. After that you can choose either stick with K3 and ignore de CR1, or the opposite way. I was a K3 who changed to CR1 because the time difference between the interviews is really short. A girl that I know from here, she had her K3 interview for March 23 and got the CR1 interview for April 7. In some cases you can even use your K3 interview date for the CR1 interview. So, even if 2 weeks would be a lot to you, forget the name CR1 and go search like crazy for everything related to K3. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NOA1 DELAY	On April 24 we submitted all the paper work to the California Service Center, and received delivery confirmation from UPS the 27th, but 25 days have gone by since that date and we have not receive the first NOA!!! Any idea what we should do? Anybody had experience a similar situation? Hi, me too we sent our I-130 on april 20 2007 and still no NOA1, they cash the check on May 05 2007... Now it is 22 May 07, I still haven't seen the cancelled check nor the NOA1 mail back to me and I live in California. Is this normal waiting period? Please help? From what I understood, I can apply for naturalization after 3 years of being a LPR AND being married for 3 years. My question is: When do they consider I'm a LPR? When I get my conditional green card or only after I remove conditions? SO, after I remove conditions, do I have to wait 3 years or only one (since I already had my conditional GC for 2 years)? US Citizenship General Discussion	Taxes and Citizenship denial!	guys, thanks for all the answers! Well, when I came here those times as a j1 holder I had no idea one day I would marry an american and move to the US! And had no idea I had to file taxes if I wasn't a resident! Hundreds of international students do Work and Travel every year and don't file taxes! We are completely clueless about it! I was taking a look at both my W2's and here's what they say (both times I worked in Alaska): 2008: Gross pay - $8171.62; AK SUI (I don;t know what that is) - $40.86 and that's it! No federal income tax withheld! 2009: Gross pay - $3126.76; AK SUI - 15.63; Federal income tax withheld: $88.00! I'm more confused than ever now! I emailed the HR lady of 2008 about the federal taxes and she responded "We don’t deduct those from J-1 paychecks automatically". So now I don't know what it means... but I probably owe a lot of money. And from what everyone responded me here, the best thing to do is actually to go ahead and file those tax returns, right?
