Mexico, Latin & South AmericaQuestion - CDJ

No reason for 2 years of bank statements at all. Some people have shown 6 months to a year worth. Bank statements are really only needed if using assets or needing to show any other forms of income you have deposited to your account, such as non-taxable incomes. Most important to show and prove is current income with a letter from employer and/or most recent pay stub(s) sent along with your most recent tax transcript and I-134.

Ok thanks for confirming. I had saw some older posts from people who said they got RFE's and/or blue slips for not have 2 years worth of bank statements. I have all the other stuff and I managed to print out a statement online from 2011 just incase they ask for it. Thanks again for all your help. We're so close! Next week is the big day!

Saludos!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaQuestion - CDJ

Also I have a letter from my bank stating when i opened my account, how much I have in it, and what my deposits were for the year 2012 and 2013, plus the two statements and all other financial documents asked. I just didn't send him bank statements from 2012 or 2011. Is this enough you think? Thanks again.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaQuestion - CDJ

Hi everyone

I'm preparing last minute documents with my fiancé who has his interview in a little over a week. I was seeing online that people were sending in bank statements from the last two years of their accounts. I only sent my Fiancé, bank account statements from January and March of this year. Do you know if this is ok, or do I need to provide more bank statements? I appreciate your help.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaQuestion - CDJ

You mark 'spouse' on the DS-260. the DS-260 is actually not supposed to be used for a fiance(e) visa, but for some reason Juarez started requiring it for K-1 applicants. Spouse is the only and best choice at that point on the form.

Replied about the vaccinations here> http://www.visajourn...ost__p__6076879

You do not need to wait for the 'packet' to get the instructions.

Here is how it works for Juarez:

You need to get your CDJ case #, invoice # and beneficiary ID # from the NVC before you can fill out the DS-260 by calling 603-334-0700

Juarez will send the USC and the beneficiary in Mexico a letter. Sometimes the letter does not reach the person in Mexico because of the crappy mail system there. If the only one that receives it is the USC, it can be mailed or scanned and emailed and printed out by the beneficiary in Mexico. It does not have to be the original.

The letter you receive points you to the sites where the instructions, forms and place to schedule your appointment and interview is. The letter is the only 'packet' you will receive. You should go to the links(which I am posting below) listed in the letter. The letter will be needed by the K-1 applicant at their ASC, medical and interview in Juarez, along with the confirmation page from the DS-260.

Here are the forms: http://ciudadjuarez....ianceforms.html , instructions (very important to follow and they explain a lot): http://photos.state....packetk1may.pdf ,schedule ASC: http://mexico.usvisa-info.com , and CDJ info: http://www.visajourn...xico&cty=Juarez

While waiting, you can read through the reviews to see how the procedure works and what documents were needed by others applying for a K-1: http://www.visajourn...&cty=&dfilter=5

Wow, thanks so much for the information. That would be wonderful if the letter arrived to my address in the states. I already have the information from NVC and have filled out the DS 260, I was just worried about the Spouse thing because of the mixed responses I was getting, so thank you for clarifying that. I will look over the links you sent to me for now and hope the letter arrives before the end of the month. I really appreciate the information.

Best Wishes,

Roma

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaQuestion - CDJ
Hi,

I'm so glad to hear that the K-1 visa goes well for most in CJ as my Fiancé will have his interview soon. I was hoping you'd be able to help me answer some questions that i've been getting mixed answers about if it's not too much trouble.

I was wondering if when you guys went through the process and filled out the DS -260 if you put spouse as the relationship to the petitioner? One person said they put Spouse and there were no issues, others said you can't put Spouse because you're not married. But fiancé isn't an option I'm not sure what to put. Any advice?

Also did your fiancé's have to go to an ASC appt for finger printing and photos in their city in Mexico before the interview?

And do you know if you can go to another local doctor to get vaccinations or if they have to be given by the US embassy doctor? My Fiancé has had some vaccinations on the list, but not all of them, and I've heard that vaccinations, if given to many at once, can make you sick. So we were hoping he could get some done at a local doctor before he sees the medical doctor in Juarez.

I ask these questions because I cannot seem to get in touch with someone who can give me clear information, and my Fiance's packet of instructions has still not arrived so we're kind of in the dark. They embassy told us to send in the DS 260 and interview payment, and make the interview appointment while we're waiting for the packet to arrive. Is that normal? They said in most cases the packet's never arrive. Therefore we're researching to figure out what they steps would be incase the packet doesn't arrive.

I apologize for the large number of questions, but I truly appreciate your time.

Regards.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaPOE MIAMI - My experience :)

Hola! I'd like to share my experience...

On 14th March, 2012 I left my beautiful family and my beautiful country for starting a new life with my Teddy. We left Peru at 2:30pm. By 5:30pm we arrived to San Jose, Costa Rica Airport. My Teddy and I waited like 40 minutes to take the 2nd plane to Miami smile.gif We arrived to Miami Aiport at 10:30pm. I loved both planes since they were bussines class and for me, to have the 1st time on planes, it was something I really enjoyed smile.gifsmile.gif

Fortunately, Miami Aiport was really really empty, we didn't make any line smile.gif We went to the Immigrant Line, my Teddy was with me. A woman from customs security was talking to my husband, she was serious but at the same time very funny, she was asking him about the way we met each other... She took my brown envelope (I took a very good care since the 1st time I got it) she didn't open it but she told us: "follow me"
She took us to a room were there were like 6 more person waiting. We sat and like 5 minutes later a man from a windows called us. We stood up in front of the windows and he opened the brown envelope, he was checking the documents that were inside of the envelope. He asked us for taking sit again. After 10 minutes he called us again and he made me sign a document, then he told us: "Follow me" We went to a different room where he took my fingerprints and he putted a stamp on my passport (Department of Homeland Security US. and Customs and Border Protection - Admitted MIA) Finally he told us to remove the Conditions 90 days before my arrival smile.gif and that was all, all took us like 20 minutes! smile.gif He was very kind and nice.

Now I'm finally with my Teddy smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif ???? No more distance for us!! YAY!!! ????

Wishing the best of luck for all of you my friends smile.gif

Did they speak to you in Spanish at all? I will be flying in with my Fiancé, just incase there are any issues. He speaks english, but like a lower intermediate level, as he's still studying. I worry that he'll be nervous so his english may be a little confusing for the officers. Some have had good experiences and others have had bad experiences. I was just curious about the Spanish. I've gone through immigration a million times in Miami and they always speak english and spanish to me, but I'm a USC so I assume it'll be different for my Fiancé. Also they let your Fiancé stay with you through the whole process? Did you go in the citizens line? Thanks and congrats.

Suerte

yes they got the choice of agent over a month ago and they sent it in and paid some fees. So should they call the NVC or USCIS itself to ask about leaving the country on an emergency. When it says his Visa has been approved and was sent to NVC, what exactly does that mean. When my husband and I did ours it was totally different as it was DCF in Egypt so im kinda lost. dry.png dry.png

First I would call the USCIS as they are the ones you would have to send the i-131 form too for permission to travel. They will tell you if it is necessary for you to call the NVC regarding permission to travel.

The NVC (national visa center) is the one who will either send your case to the foreign embassy where your daughter's husband will need to do his interview, or schedule the appointment date for you and tell you where you need to go for the interview. Some people had to do their interview in Juarez, Mexico even though they were already living in the states. Others had a totally different process within the U.S. You can't be sure unless you contact the NVC or wait to receive their letter in the mail. The NVC will tell you what they're doing with your case, the status and where they'll be sending your case. If for some reason the NVC tells you that your daughter's husband would be doing his interview in Mexico, you may want to wait for him to go to mexico around the interview date time, or maybe he could go and then do his interview and return with his visa approved. Again if he is in the States now and is denied at his interview and leaves the country he will not have permission to re-enter which is why I recommend speaking with USCIS first. It's a difficult process so being lost isn't unusual and like you said it's a different process at every embassy and in every country. When all else fails it's easier to call and ask questions! :-) Best of luck-

Oh and if there's a way your daughter can go with her husband that always helps on the re-entry part when he goes through customs.

Saludos-

Hi Im writing for my daughter cuz she cant get to a computer at the moment. My son in law has recently recieved a letter saying his I-130 had been approved and checking his status right now  and it says,

Post Decision Activity

On January 18, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I-130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State

Problem is that it went on to NVC and we have no idea how long that takes. We got a call today that his grandma is gravely ill and in the hospital. His grandma pretty much raised him after his mom died when he was really small. We need to know if theres any way for him to get an emergency exit permission or something so he may go to Mexico and return to the States afterward. He is here in California and needs to travel to Michoacan. If anyone out there knows anything on this subject please respond ASAP.

TY so very much, Kha Bakr

My recommendation is that you call the NVC. I got my letter from them regarding the transfer of our case to the embassy almost a month after they had sent out our petition packet. The packet was sent to the embassy for the next process within a week of the NVC receiving our packet.

The issue is not leaving the country it's getting back in. Once he leaves the country he basically cancels his visa and would have to re-apply or could try to re-enter with his visa but could be denied entry. The only way to avoid that is to get permission to travel. There is a form i-131 form that can be mailed in to ask for permission to travel.

Here is the form: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-131.pdf

It is usually used during the AOS process, but I would assume this is what you would send in to request permission to travel as this is a form which allows access to re-entry once he has left the US. There is more information on requesting permission at this link: http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

If you are not confident with the information on the site your best bet would be calling the USCIS with your USCIS case number to ask what you should do. They are helpful and will respond best they can or direct you to the NVC. The NVC is much harder to get in contact with. Emails are responded too in about 3 days or so, and to get them on the phone you must be prepared to call all day long until you get lucky and someone answers. You will also need you USCIS case number in order to speak to them as well. They can tell you the status of your case, where it is and any ID numbers you need for the next process.

Best of luck!

How long before I can call them?

Thanks

Hi, after we got our approval we wait about a week before calling the NVC. By that time they had already sent our case to ciudad juarez so I then asked them for the beneficiary ID, Case number (if you don't have already), and the Invoice ID number. After that I then used those number to fill out the online DS 260 application. That alone took a few days for us. Once we finished we submitted it and then printed the confirmation page as you will need it in Juarez. There is a question on that form that ask the relationship to the petitioner Fiancé is not an option so you will need to put spouse. Anyways after that you register on the csc site, https://usvisa-info....lfservice/login on that site you can then make the payment you will need for the ASC and Interview, if I remember correctly its 240 USD. Once you make the payment either through the same site or by calling the CDJ embassy you may make your interview appointment and the ASC appointment. Your ASC appointment has to be at least one day ahead of time, but two is the safest. Medical is a walk in thing but takes a few hours, plan for three days ahead minimum to go to that if possible. Hope this helps. Saludos-

Good evening all,

Today, I noticed that our petition had been approved.
From what I've gathered, it seems my fiancée will be attending the CDJ consulate.
It seems I have to wait about a week before I can call up NVC in order to ask for the invoice and beneficiary's number.
Am I correct?
If so, once I have collected those numbers, will I be able to make an appointment for my fiancée's medical, fingerprints and interview?

Could anyone correct me if I'm wrong?

Thanks

Hi, As soon as the NVC has your case they should have your numbers and information ready to be given to you. I didn't have to wait a week. Once you have that info you have to fill out the DS-260 and print the confirmation page, and make the required payment. Once you do those two things you're able to schedule your ASC and interview appointment online or via the Embassy. Best of luck.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaCompra de ticket Argentina a USA, IDA o IDA y VUELTA?

Hola VJ.

Soy de Buenos Aires Argentina, quiero comprar un ticket a USA, y me encuentro con esto;

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaHave not Received Invitation Letter for CDJ and Getting Nervous

Hi Kay,

I guess that would mean that somehow we would have to reschedule our ASC appointment which is currently scheduled in a different city and for the week before the CDJ medicals and interview.

I wonder if it is possible to cancel and reschedule the ASC appointment without canceling the consulate interview?

If it is possible to reschedule without messing up our interview, we certainly will have plenty of time to do the ASC in CDJ as we are going to be there for 5 or 6 days.

Regards,

Ed

You can call the embassy and ask them to reschedule the ASC appointment. It only needs to be done at least a day before your interview so you can schedule for when you're in Juarez, and do it at the office there. it's 20 minutes and quick and easy. Don't worry!

Muchas Suerte-

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaBirth Certificates submitted to USCIS - Literal / Long Version??

How can you tell the difference between a long or a short version of the Costa Rican birth certificate from the Registro?

The long version is a smaller piece of paper that has your parents birth information on it, while the short only has your birth information on it. THe short is like a summarized version, but it's the one they usually give everyone. That's one way to tell the difference. This site kinda helps explain it too. http://www.ehow.com/...ertificate.html

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaBirth Certificates submitted to USCIS - Literal / Long Version??

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help answer this question. I've been searching these forums and can't really seem to find anything talking about which version of birth certificate USCIS will accept.

My fiance is planning on traveling to the US on her K1 visa and recently picked up a few extra copies of her birth certificate so we can use them for the AOS package. When she picked them up from the registro they asked if she wanted the literal / long form or not. She just said the normal (not long) version would be fine since that's what we submitted with our interview package. Since the interview was in Costa Rica I don't see any problem with them accepting the "short" version but what exactly does USCIS want?

I didn't even know there were different versions of birth certificates. All I know is that mine (US citizen) states the exact place and time of birth with both my parents names and their places of birth. To me that sounds like a long version and I'm not sure what USCIS expects.

Has anyone else gone through this? Which form did you submit? I appreciate any help on this issue. Thanks!

Hi, I had heard that the long version isn't always required but that sometimes in the interview you get an official who asks for it. If you don't have the long version and they ask for it, you cannot get a visa approval till you bring it to the consulate and if it takes awhile you may have to make another appointment. I ordered the long version over the phone. Not online because there were people ordering it online and receiving the short version. We had no issues with the long version when we gave that to immigration. Better safe than sorry. Best of luck.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaChecklist: Ciudad Juarez Interview....do we have everything?

I don't remember needing the affidavit of support or tax stuff back in CDJ, you do need it for AOS once in the states, though. They also couldn't care less about the letter from the police. Did this about a year ago, by the looks of it you are set.

You do need the I-134 bring two copies of it, and bring your taxes, pay stubs, etc. I brought for the most 3 recent tax years for my husband and they requested all of it. Best of luck-

No they won't let u go in the ASC interview with him or inside thhe consulate. Both places have waiting areas for u though. Even though u can't go in make sure u go to Juarez with hiim. Some people were put off because they didn't bring their spouses with them so they thought the relationships were lies. And plan to leave the day after. They had lost some of our documents from when we first filed the I130 so I had to send to the U.S. and have them faxed to me. Then I had to have DHL deliver them. They won't let u just take stuff back to the embassy. I hope u have better luck than us. My husband had been in the U.S. for 25 years, we had been married 8 years, and he had an 18 year old and 19 year old american citizen sons and we r now having to do the I601 waiver for him having been here more than a year. Been waiting since December on it.

By the way, is the ASC the same thing as the police certificate/ criminal record check? Since they take his fingerprints and ask for the same documentation he thought maybe they were the same thing. I'm just clarifying so that if it's not the same thing, he can get his records this week.

Oh and the ASC is right past the consulate by the consulate waiting area in a little area like a shopping center. About a block over from the hotel.when u go for the ASC appointment u can't take ur cell, cigs, belt, nothing. They'll make u throw it in the trash.

Thank you! I'll look into the hotel and I appreciate the advice about the Medical exam and ASC. Do the let you both in to the ASC or just my Fiancé? I can't believe he can't go in with a belt! I've, also heard that, obviously we can't go into the interview with our Fiancé's, but will they let you in the embassy to wait if you are a USC or no? I assume I'll be spending a lot of time in the hotel and mall lol, but I'd rather be with him when I can, to support him, than anywhere else, so I'll take it. :-) If you can think of any other recommendations let me know! I'll take anything you got! :-) It's so wonderful to have this site where you can discuss your experience because really, the consulate and well no one, really helps you prepare for what's in Juarez or tells you what to expect! Thanks again!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionFlights from Mexico City to Juarez
Hello All,

My Fiancé has his interview on Thursday May 9. His ASC appointment is May 6th at 7 am, and then he'll need to see the doctor either that same day or on the 7th or 8th. I've only been able to find flights via Interjet from Mex City to Juarez. From your experiences is it acceptable to arrive May 5th and leave the same day of the interview? or Do you recommend leaving the day after the interview? Also can anyone recommend a decent hotel that's near the consult and ASC?

I appreciate your advice and wish you well.

Thanks

Don't you think it would say Administrative Processing and not Ready if we were in AP??

NORMALLY it should show "AP" if we were in Administrative processing but when my baby call DOS they told him that my case is in Administrative processing but I see "ready" on the website so I don't know what to think ....
