Aussie, I have a quick question. Have you realized that the cover sheet link for DS-230 in not working? I've been trying really hard but it looks corrupted. Thanks!

Have you spoken directly to NVC yet or only using the automated service? What address did you send the IV bill to?

Yea I did Aussie. The lady has no clue what's going on. She just said keep waiting. And what makes other people think I sent the fees via snail mail? Anyway!

Has this happened to anyone? I've paid the IV Fee of $380. I used USPS Money order. After 14 agonizing days, NVC cannot tell me anything about this payment. How long do I have to wait to hear that they've received my money. The post office was a joke this morning! I should wait 60 days before they can tell if it's been cashed. Hello! Do I have time to wait?
I'm getting impatient about all this wait...I've been at it since 2003.

Help! Help!! James' Shortcut not working

Aside from mich's (phirephly) solution to use in the interim, there is no other way of accessing the links to the coversheets since admin did an upgrade. Captain Ewok is working on it and hopefully it will be business as usual soon.

Thank you'all for the immense help. I sent the forms this morning. My state shares common border with NVC's so they might get it this evening of by Saturday morning. Wheewww!!! Almost over.

what time is the best to cal NVC on tus??

My husband wanted to call NVC asking if they get our files..
but what time will be the best to call?!!

Where are you calling from? Taiwan or USA? All the same, between 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM Eastern and after 6:00 PM Eastern is the best times to call. You get someone in two minutes maximum. You can convert the time to your local time if you're in Taiwan. Hope this helps you.

waiting time?

DId you send both the AOS packet and the IV packet? If so, NVC normally states it will take them 30 days to review for the packets and once you get the CC(case complete) NVC states it will take another 30 days to get an interview date. I can be sooner but that is their "THING" "30 Days".

I am also waiting on the case complete right now.....

You have to send an email to NVC about the reason why you need to expedite your petition. Then from 1-2 weeks they will respond back to you about it. My manis Noelia just had that done and can be very helpful for you

USC petitioner living abroad

Hello Everyone,
This is really an interesting topic. I never knew that there is a faster queue.

I have few questions regarding this. I have dual citizenship of US and Pakistan. I recently got married in Pakistan and looking to file I-130 for my spouse. My parents and my spouse live in my home country and I visit them every year. So I have an address there as well.

- Can i use my foreign (Pakistani) address in I-130 application and US address in DS230 form ? This way I will get my I-130 approve quicker.
I can show my Pakistani ID card for the address in Pakistan. I also have my marriage certificates, affidavits made issued in Pakistan. Will that work ?

- I am working in US and I am looking to file AOS for my spouse as well. Will that be an issue if I list the foreign address in I-130 and then a job in Us ?

- If I proceed this path, do I have to go to the Embassy for the interview with my spouse ?

Please, let me know if any dual citizenship holders has such experience or if any one else can advise.

Just about to Start The Whole Immigration Process HELP!!

Hi Goldylox,

My fiance and I felt the same confusion at the beginning of the process. We are still have the interview 'hoop' to jump through. In retrospect, it was not nearly as bad as it first seemed. Now is a good time to get started on the paperwork in order to marry in January 2009. If I've read your info correctly, you probably want to file the I-129F first (Vermont) for a K1 visa. VJ has been an excellent resource and I know that we could not have done it without having this valuable resource. Best of luck!

Are these the documents? or is there something else lacking?

- Bar-coded cover sheet from payment portal

- Cover letter (optional)

- Two passport-style photographs (2" x 2") of beneficiary (on the back, write: beneficiary's full name, date of birth, and case number)

- Copy of bio-data page of beneficiary's unexpired passport

- Original or Certified Copy of beneficiary's birth certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY

- Original or Certified Copy of marriage certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY

- Original police certificate(s)

and what company or office did you go to, to get your documents translated to english?

No you don't need to translate all the documents if they are in Spanish or English but if they are in other language they need to translate to English. And yes you will need all these original documents for your interview too. it was what i read i haven't had my interview yet. Good Luck

I fill the DS261 on this date: 2014-07-26 calculating the time have already passed 30 business days.
Do I have to wait more time for the invoice appears? I think they're holding the cases so everyone has to pay the new fees.
What's your opinion about this? and What I should do?

Omg my love i recieved one cheacklist for an incorrect date of birth so i wated 60 days because there baglogged now i recieved another cheacklist ao i have to wait anither 6o days am ao mad plus when i went to the lawyer he said that there ia nothing wrong so he wouldnt know why they aend a chealist ???????????????????? me quiero morir

When to pay $165 Visa fee

Thanks NLR! Here's another quick question , I was just reading about other peoples interviews and a few times it has come up about bringing a stamped addressed envelope to the interview and putting 12.50 euros worth of stamps on it. Has anyone else seen this?? It's not mentioned anywhere on my instructions that I received

Hi,

I had my interview in the middle of May. You don't need to bring an envelope with you. However, on the day they'll give you a reference number and a website link. There, you can register to have your visa and passport delivered to the DPD Courier depot. You can also have it delivered to your home address. This is an additional $45.

I didn't have the most positive experience at the US Embassy, I found them incredibly rude, ignorant and generally unhelpful. I felt like everyone there has a chip on their shoulder. In the end, I got my visa and entered the US with no problem. At my point of entry the secondary inspection officer had the same manner of everyone I encountered during the process. The only helpful person in the process was the security guard at the front gate of the embassy in Dublin.

Needless to say, my husband is embarrassed by the service that USCIS provides.
